Ragz, aw, thank you! :)

Lily, Starsky just reminded me - early on I bought a box of pip n nut almond butter sachets. They aren't super low-carb (though better than the peanut butter sachets). I'd got so frightened by my previous hangriness that I felt anxious if I didn't have a snack with me. In fact, rarely needed them, I've still got 8 out of the original 10 sachets, but I felt much better just knowing I had a snack in my bag all the time. They keep for ever and are virtually indestructible.

Ada - nice to see you again. Welcome back!

C4 lovely pup, save him from the passive smoking !
My scales moved again first time in weeks. Have to eat at Bella Italia tomorrow and I think there is basically one main I can or will choose.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 29/08/2017 06:10

One main? is this the lunch or dinner menu?

Shiraznowplease · 29/08/2017 06:50

Omg, just weighed after my first week and I have lost 11lb 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you so much everyone for your help and support especially @BIWI, I really really appreciate it

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 29/08/2017 07:08

C4 other effect of taking a dog that has a nicotine addiction is the behaviour during withdrawal. Assuming you'll have to pick the pup up after holidays or when 12 weeks. Wonder what effect fresh air will have.

ADS Congratulations on the 90lbs loss. Great job. here hoping you keep going to target and maintenance without the long stalls.

Did the 90lbs loss over a month ago, tonight was expecting 202 again tonight and it was 199.7 so did it again and again and it stayed. Had a shower and adsorbed a pound. 200.7.
Did take the piccie of the 199.7 number but ooops glass scales are reflective. Wink

See what the morning brings.

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 29/08/2017 07:13

Hi noobs, have fun and remember you doing this to loss weight and feel great about yourself. take every day as it comes and every day is the 1st day of the rest of your like. AND NONE CHEATS ON DAY 1. Smile

I posted a link earlier in the thread about the issue of falling into carbytwatdom carbytwatness and physiological responses

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 29/08/2017 07:17

@BIWI

I know we are not doing a spreadsheet for SSS, when to get the link to share with newcomers in this thread and there are some additional blank sheets so finding the rules might be difficult.

SPREADSHEET FOR RULES AND TIPS from last bootcamp

Grah0SoontobeaFatty · 29/08/2017 07:43

So guys at work think the lunch salad is to fattening to be for someone on a diet.
8oz cabbage
big dollop of full fat mayo
french mustard
hot sauce ( very hot no carbs)
2 brussels sprouts
5oz chicken breast
half a red pepper one of those long skinny ones.
Whilst they have Indian takeaways or burritos (57gm of carbs each).

fyi I use this site for nutrition info has lots of good data is this the White bell pepper
Peppers, Hungarian, raw

And I know cabbage about 16gms of carbs but has 8gms of fibres and loads of micro nutriments -- tomorrow it it a broccoli and cauli slaw

Looks great Grah! They'll all be nearly asleep with the mid afternoon carb slump after an Indian or burrito!

9lbs down since last Wednesday. 164.7 lbs/11.7 st. Exactly a stone from 'Yes, I've done it!'
I have been struggling and punishing myself since 2011. I'm so amazed I've found this! Feeling bright and full of energy this morning! Clothes are fitting better. Even though I know things will slow down I'm elated I'm back in control and on the right track! Smile

I wish everyone a fabulous day!

Namaste bitches!

Lots of positive vibes on the thread today! Welcome new people.

C4 pup looks beautiful, rescue her from those smokers, yuk.

Grah thanks for the link, looks like the peppers are moderately carby so will limit and try to get some green ones

Nomoreoats it's funny isn't it! I was so worried!

Cider I did wonder at your name! I live in the Midlands, my mum is Hungarian and she and my dad have a house here at Balaton. We come out at least once a year.

So my dad has some questions if any of you gurus can help? @BIWI ? @stuntnun ? I explained the WOE and he said "oh it's Atkins. Didn't Atkins die?" What IS different about lchf as opposed to Atkins? And I thought Atkins died of complications from slipping on ice?

And my dad is really worried about the fat especially his cholesterol. I told him about Jiminy's fantastic blood test results but he's not convinced Confused Any good resources? I am going to get him to download Taubes on his Ipad.

Montypulciano · 29/08/2017 09:01

Morning!

Just nipping on. Start as you mean to go on and all that. Just necked a pint of water then quickly going to have some cheese before o take kids out to piano lesson.

Grah, your salad looks lovely. And thanks for the boot camp rules. Splendid.

Laters, everyone Smile

ASDismynormality · 29/08/2017 09:03

Grah. We'll done on seeing the 100s on the scales! I had over three weeks of my weight sticking around 15st 12lbs, I kept going and the weight started going down again- it was frustrating as I have so much to lose! I've added my chart from the last month to show the stall and then the movement down.

Wo. I get like that with meat too. I stopped eating meat two weeks ago as the thought made me feel queasy but yesterday I had a mixed grill with beef, pork, lamb and chicken!

ASDismynormality · 29/08/2017 09:04

Forgot to add my chart from the last month!

Shiraznowplease · 29/08/2017 09:14

That looks gorgeous Grah ... think that's my lunch for tomorrow sorted, thanks x

wotabastard · 29/08/2017 09:27

ASD have to say I really enjoyed it and didn't feel weird but I think it could be because I went to a decent local butcher rather than a supermarket?

wotabastard · 29/08/2017 09:33

Shiraz that is fantastic!

MaudesMum · 29/08/2017 09:49

Hi. I've been lurking for a while, and have learnt a lot - but now its time to join! I've been low-carbing since the start of March and have lost 2 stone, which is making me feel a lot better about myself. However that still puts me at 13 1/2 stone and I need to lose another stone to even get my BMI out of the obese category. So, my target at the moment is another stone and a half. I'll then take stock and see how I feel/look. I've had a couple of blips and stalls along the way, but my real problem is the demon drink. I've stopped drinking in the weeks, but do indulge at the weekend, and that really needs to stop! Can I therefore join you on Super Strict September where my overall aim will be to lose half a stone?? As well as the food side, I'm also planning to up my activity levels - walking more (getting up to 10,000 steps a day) and finally starting a pilates class.

My menu for today:

b: fried egg and mushroom fried in butter
l: home-made veg soup - lentils, carrot & cauliflower with a finger of cheddar cheese
s: cabbage fried in olive oil, with a few green beans, and a fillet of peppered smoked mackeral thrown in at the last minute.
Lots and Lots of water!!

BIWI · 29/08/2017 09:58

Morning all Flowers

Apologies for absence. Have family over from Oz staying, along with assorted BIL/SIL joining. Much alcohol and many carbs have been consumed Blush

It's my birthday tomorrow, but also the day they all leave Sad and then SSS will commence.

As it's not an official Bootcamp, it's entirely up to everyone how the super strictness manifests itself! For me, it's about doing IF - in essence, that means missing breakfast. I'm also going to keep an eye on portion size, and make sure that I'm not allowing carb creep. And, as far as possible, will be knocking the alcohol on the head. It's become too much of a habit, rather than something I just restrict to the weekend, so that's not been helping.

We go on holiday at the end of October, so that's really something for me to aim for. Four super strict weeks will really help me get back on track.

BIWI · 29/08/2017 10:00

Oh, and GrumpyOldFucker has created this:

A public dropbox, with a low carb cheat sheet - really helpful. It could be worth printing out and sticking up on your fridge/in the cupboard.

BIWI · 29/08/2017 10:00

Apologies!

Here's the link

BIWI · 29/08/2017 10:03

Welcome to all the newbies! And also returners.

And @Shiraznowplease that's amazing!

RaininSummer · 29/08/2017 10:09

Clear , yes I think the salad with salmon is my only option as a everything else is either pasta, pizza or meat. Life would be easier if I ate meat. Still I expect it will be nice enough, more about family than the actual food.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 29/08/2017 10:29

Ah, Rainin I hadn't realised you were pescetarian. Good attitude about family though. Enjoy.

Meanwhile I seem to be preparing for SSS by being not just a carby twat but an absolute carby fucker: quiz last night, three pints of lager and large chili cheese nachos. Let's not speak of this again. BlushWink

Finally, is anyone else vaguely unsettled because BIWI's posts aren't highlighted?! Grin

Cherrypi · 29/08/2017 10:32

Anyone else having trouble watching threads on this topic?

MaudesMum · 29/08/2017 10:41

And can I just add that's the best cheat sheet EVER! Printed out and on the way to my fridge door!!
