I have recently discovered these and, whilst the carb count per 100g is not the best, the packet is only 5g so the carbs are under 1g for the pack. Useful for a quick munch on the run (seen here in the car at piano lesson as I didn't have time for breakfast in the end).

I'm not in charge - a nice feeling!

Montypulciano · 29/08/2017 10:42

I can't open Dropbox today but will look at it in the computer at home.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 29/08/2017 11:58

Hi and welcome to all the newbies - I'm a slightly less-newbie as I'm into my 4th week.
It's certainly buzzing on here this morning.
Well done to all you losers
I'm a bit stalled and feeling a bit despondent as not only have I stuck at 6 or 7lb weight loss it seems to have crept up by a lb today - yes, I now I shouldn't weigh myself every day.

BIWI · 29/08/2017 12:01

@NOMOREoatcakesandcheese you aren't stalled! You're in week 4. As I have said upthread, weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for slowing down of weight loss - sometimes even stopping or reversing slightly.

You know that it works - so KOKO and it will get going again.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 29/08/2017 12:20

Posted too soon .......
So, what do I do???

I'm taking a going to post my daily food here.

To start off, can someone tell me if I'm eating too much cheese and dairy? Im loving mascarpone cheese!!! I'm not counting carbs or weighing or anything, I'm just following the BC "heavy" rules - I'm not following the lite rules yet as I'm thinking a hybrid approach will suit my lifestyle better.

Yesterday's food was: I can't do without my morning coffee to wake me up - two cups of strong freshly made with semi skimmed milk

B 2 egg omelette cooked in butter with mushrooms and a slice of salmon and a dessert spoon sized dollop of mascarpone cheese, with rocket, spinach and watercress and cucumber
L a small carton of total yogurt with flaxseeds and a dessert spoon sized dollop of creme fraiche and the same of mascarpone cheese
D was a salmon fillet cooked in olive oil with a green salad - lettuce, spinach, rocket, watercress, spring onion, red onion, olives, cucumber and celery dressed with olive oil and lemon and some mascarpone again!! And some Boursin cheese a dessert spoonful

Before I went to bed I had a teaspoon of mascarpone cheese!!!!

3 litres or more of water

Throughout the day I had: 2 magnesium pills, a probiotic pill as suffering from a heavy bout of antibiotics usage, glucosamine for my joints

What do you thInk? Am eating too much cheese? Am I doing something wrong?

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 29/08/2017 12:21

Ps thanks BIWi 🤙 - but maybe I'm overdosing on cheese

CiderwithBuda · 29/08/2017 12:26

I think it could be too much dairy NoOatcakes. Your lunch was dairy, dairy and more dairy with some flaxseeds! And some people find flaxseeds stall them. Although as BIWI says you are in week four which is notorious for stalling.

CiderwithBuda · 29/08/2017 12:31

OldBooks - yes th clue is in the name! I was just Buda for a long time but moved to Somerset so introduced the Cider - Which I don't even drink! Just been back to Budapest for a week for Sziget festival. Hadn't been back for ages and DS hadn't been back at all - he was almost ten when we left. We are going back again next year apparently!

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 12:37

Oatcakes, I think the key thing to remember is that your weight didn't go on at 2lb a week, so it's not going to consistently come off at that rate either. As I understand it, it's not even truly s stall, it's a metabolic/physiological response at this stage, which will move again.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 29/08/2017 12:47

I'm not sure I'd change anything, oatcakes except swap cream for the milk in your coffee. The rest seems okay to me and you're in week 4, as mentioned. KOKO.

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 12:50

SSS for me will be continuing my alcohol free year and doing strict boot camp alongside continuing with IF. Won't be egg fasting though, as soon as I seem to get to a certain level of ketosis I itch terribly.

wotabastard · 29/08/2017 12:56

I have a wedding this weekend and I'm planning on going alcohol free @ilovecherries. Go, go keto! I'm actually looking forward to waking up to a clear head and good memories of a fun time!

ASDismynormality · 29/08/2017 13:29

SSS for me means no alcohol and no snacking, three good meals a day. I find if I IF/Egg fast I want to binge after.

lilydaisyrose · 29/08/2017 13:40

Yummy lunch of raw spinach, smoked salmon & scrambled eggs with cream. 100g cheese cut into slices and a teaspoon of WE peanut butter (cheese & peanut butter not in photo).

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 29/08/2017 13:58

Ok I'll keep on keeping on.
My next worry is that, as I might have mentioned ages ago - we've moved house nearly 8 months ago - part of the reason I put the weight on!! The building work for our extension starts, fingers crossed, mid September this means no kitchen for about 10 weeks - we'll set up a kettle and the microwave in a spare bedroom - maybe the fridge I'm not sure yet - I need your help to be prepared for this and to keep to this WOE. Any ideas are welcome

prettybird · 29/08/2017 14:12

Microwaved cauliflower with butter. In fact, most vegs microwaved with butter.

There is a book called Microwave Gourmet by Barbara Kafka which has good recipes. There is one with chicken breasts (skinless so you'll need to add fat elsewhere), sliced leeks, sliced courgettes and sliced tomatoes, some chicken stock, olive oil and lemon juice and chopped parsley - all microwaved together, which is very tasty.

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 14:48

We had three months without a kitchen, and a camping stove running on calor gas made a huge difference. Just two burners, nothing fancy, but it opened up stir frys, steaks, cooked breakfasts etc. Not sure if that's an option? Or consider an instant pot? They are amazing.

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 14:49

My aim for September is 8lbs, which would put me firmly under 13 stone.

wotabastard · 29/08/2017 15:06

My aim for September is 7lbs. I'm aware I'll be hitting the week 3-4 slow down so don't want to say anything crazy like 10 lbs please Grin

Grimbles · 29/08/2017 15:29

Hi guys, hope everyone is well Smile

I think I'm still doing ok but I am starting to crave a little sweetness in my diet (despite not having ever had a sweet tooth before!) I spent about 5 minutes staring wistfully at a lot of cherry onken in the shop today!

B. Bacon and egg McMuffin without the muffin (was up and out pretty early this am so had to eat on the go)
L. 3 eggs scrambled in butter with mushrooms. Small tin tuna in oil with a spoonful of blue cheese dip mixed in. Cup miso soup
S. Pack pork scratchings
D. (Planned) sausages with leeks wilted in butter. I was thinking of also frying up some cherries tomatos in oil to have a bit of sweetness - tomatos are on the spreadsheet, can I use their carb value for all types?

FinallyHere · 29/08/2017 15:29

NoMore you can get a plug in single heated ring, good for frying / a saucepan ,opens up lots of possibilities for cooking. And a slow cooker.

I lived for nearly ten years without a cooker (had prioritised a dish washer in the space) and survived to tell the tale. Enjoy!

prettybird · 29/08/2017 15:36

Grimbles - do try to resist for a wee bit longer and then the craving will go. I now find that even cream tastes "sweet".

After initial Boot Camp, I do have the odd square of dark chocolate (ideally the Lindt 90% stuff) but interestingly, I have just had a couple of slices of parmesan as I was craving umami Smile

the other thing you can try, if you're really wanting something sweet is peppermint and licorice tea. I often have it with a teaspoon of coconut oil in it, which makes it somehow richer.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 29/08/2017 15:36

Great ideas for no kitchen cooking - much to think about. I knew you'd be able to help

Grimbles · 29/08/2017 15:39

What exactly is meant by super strict?
