Welcome all!

I see that there are almost 130 of us signed up for this one, which is brilliant.

I'm starting the week 1 thread a little early, as I'm away this evening and won't be back home until mid-morning tomorrow, and I know you all want to get cracking Grin

So, without further ado, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

If your name isn't on it, just add yourself at the bottom. Don't worry about the alphabetisation - wombattoo will sort that out later. Add your weight, but don't touch the blue cells!

It's up to you when you weigh; I'll start a new chat thread each Monday, with a link to the spreadsheet, but if you feel happier weighing on a Friday (or any other day) then it's totally up to you.

Hello all
Pop quite a few people do IF whilst low carbing. I'm not sure if it should be done during the first 2 weeks. No doubt BIWI will answer when she's here.
girl You will definitely notice a difference in cutting out the artificial sweeteners. It will make this way of eating so much easier and prevent cravings.
Spreadsheet updated

< Waves back at Wombat >

With regard to intermittent fasting, you really need three meals a day at first while you're body is adapting to burn fat instead of carbs. I recommend following your natural appetite after the first two weeks i.e. if you aren't hungry at breakfast time then you could be ready to introduce IF. You don't need IF to lose weight, although it can be a useful tool if you are close to your goal weight. But there's no harm trying it if you want; just make sure you are fat-adapted before starting IF.

WilfSell · 25/10/2016 18:46

I also combine lchf with IF and have been since last boot camp. Very sustainable WOE for me which is crucial. It often means skipping breakfast which is AGAINST BC RULESGrin but I think if you're new to low carbing it is right to have breakfast.

Longer term low carbers and those used to fasting will adjust to just not feeling hungry. So it gets easier to fast once your cravings have gone, blood sugar is levelled off and you allow your natural feelings of hunger to work properly again.

WilfSell · 25/10/2016 18:47

Yeah, wot StuntNun said. Crossed posts Grin

WilfSell · 25/10/2016 18:56

Lunch: coffee with cream
Dinner: white cabbage fried in butter with bacon, with caraway and mustard seeds. Was bloody lovely!

chocbisc · 25/10/2016 19:41

Day 2
B - 2 hard boiled eggs with butter.
L- FF yoghurt & 2 slices cooked ham mayonnaise cheery tomatoes lettuce
D- fish cooked in butter, aubergines, corn on the cob, rocket.
2 l water

Polkadotties · 25/10/2016 19:50

wilfself add cream, garlic and an egg yolk to the cabbage and you have cabbage carbonara. Amazing food!

Polkadotties · 25/10/2016 19:50

Oops wilfsell, not wilfself!

readyforno2 · 25/10/2016 19:56

Sorry. Never got round to posting yesterday.

Yesterday - Got up, yummy scrambled eggs in butter for breakfast then jumped on the scales, no battery!!! So I've no idea what I weigh Angry
Anyway, cheese and ham salad for lunch (was at a course and needed something quick and easy)
Chicken and mashed turnip for dinner

Today -
Coffee with cream, ff yog - breakfast
3 egg cheese omelette - lunch
3 black farmer sausages with mashed turnip - dinner

3l water, 1 coffee with cream (on top of the one a breakfast)

I'll get a new battery on Thursday and will try to update the spreadsheet and properly read the thread then.
Koko everyone!

margaritasbythesea · 25/10/2016 20:15

Hello all.
I am going well on day 2
Breakfast - two eggs scrambled in butter
Lunch broccoli and courteous pesto with oil and cheese
Snack - cheese and Serrano ham
Dinner tried chicken with lettuce and a mayonnaise/ yogurt dressing.

I am glad to have bootcamp support back. I've been eating way too many nuts lately.

achangeisgonnacome · 25/10/2016 20:22

Breakfast: spinach and boiled egg protein pot

Lunch: chicken, tomatoes, with olives

Dinner: Not really that hungry, so had an Itsu chicken noodle pot but without the noodles and added a couple of bits of cooked chicken.

Drank 1 1/2 litres of water, which is not enough I know.

Can someone advise please, as I went to GP yesterday and was told to watch my diet as cholesterol has increased considerably since it was last checked four years ago. How does LC work In that regard?

bettyblueeyes83 · 25/10/2016 20:22

Reasonable day. Started to feel that drained/lead-legs feeling mid-afternoon and, after trying a cup of bouillon, for some reason decided to eat whole pack of M&S Serrano ham and manchego rolitos even tho I wasn't hungry. Won't do that tomorrow!

B: scrambled eggs with cheese, smoked salmon, avocado, coffee with cream
L: aubergine with feta and herbs, fried egg
D: chicken red pesto casserole, celeriac mash, wilted greens
S: bouillon, rolitos...

plumstone · 25/10/2016 20:50

On holiday at the moment!!! All going well though, and if someone could add plumstone 152lbs to the spreadsheet that would be super fantastic!

RaisinGirls · 25/10/2016 20:56

Made it through day two!, phewww. Quite a hard one, mainly I suspect as I was at home today so a bit bored. Felt need to snack all day.

Brekkie was coffee with cream and some ff yoghurt
Lunch was chicken salad with lots of mayonnaise and oil
Dinner: two lamb cutlets, spinach and creamy mushroom sauce

Snacks: little bit of homemade chilli left in fridge (cooked hflc way so allowed in that sense) and three additional cups of coffee with cream.

Drank my water allowance

Exercise: ran 6 miles

Not feeling hungry as such but definitely got cravings of one sort or another.

BIWI · 25/10/2016 21:04

Sorry for the late appearance - bit of a busy day today so didn't have time to catch up at lunchtime.

To answer a few questions that I can remember:

This isn't a closed group Pop - it's like any other thread on MN. That said, I have no issue with you linking to your blog. I don't think it's MN netiquette, but it doesn't bother me Grin

And re Intermittent Fasting - this works really well with low carbing, because once you're into the swing of things, you'll find that it suppresses your appetite, which makes fasting easier. It's very unusual for me to eat breakfast at all these days. But you really do need to wait until you're fat adjusted, so don't try it during the first couple of weeks.

Annette (and others) I don't know why people think you have to have eggs at breakfast! There are lots of other things you can eat!

achangeisgonnacome you should find that your cholesterol levels will improve on a low carb diet. But make sure when they give you your levels that they give you all the readings (for LDL and HDL), not just one number.

I am here and I am low carbing, I am 3.5 stone down since Jan. My grandad died last night however, so finding it hard to join in right now.

43andcounting · 25/10/2016 21:48

Sorry to hear that Testra Flowers. Congratulations on your fantastic results with low carving.

BIWI · 25/10/2016 22:03

I'm sorry to hear that, Sentra Sad. Take care of yourself - you do what you need to do at times like this. Flowers

SestraClone Sorry to hear that, Flowers

BIWI I made some fat bombs today.. I had still been semi LC after my no sugar September but last week was a nightmare as I badly craved chocolate and cake.. when I gave in it wasn't even satisfying.. it didn't taste right anymore..

So to cure my sweet cravings now and then I've made some coconut oil, peanut butter &cocoa fatbombs.. there I e cube size and can live in freezer for when I need something to take edge off (AF visiting which is why I think I was craving) Do you recommend fat bombs or something similar?

Today;
B- ham, egg and cheese muffins
L - pork scratchings (on the go and hadn't been shopping at that point!)
D - chicken breasts, kale and mayo
S - 1x fat bomb and 2x square 80% dark choc
Way behind on drinking today.. only about 7/8 glasses

MaryThorne · 25/10/2016 22:32

Sestra sorry to hear that Flowers

Poppiesway no I don't recommend fat bombs like that, ESPECIALLY NOT DURING THE FIRST TWO WEEKS OF BOOTCAMP!

I realise you've been low carbing or at least low sugar, for a while, but it's not fair on all the others here who are trying to do Bootcamp to start talking about eating the sweet stuff.

Please remember that the first two weeks we're not eating sweet stuff, because we're trying to break the addiction that sugar has over us, and to curb our sweet tooth.

Checking in....

After much thought, I'm postponing my start for a week due to holidays. Poor excuse, as I know I need to change my "real life" but this just doesn't feel like the right week for me to take on the challenge. Back next Monday (or maybe this weekend)....

Pengweng · 26/10/2016 07:37

I'm off out pimpkin carving today so taking a picnic for lunch which will be hard boiled eggs and some chicken salad with lots of dressing. Will also take a pack of pork scratchings incase i get peckish. Dinner will be sausages (low carb), swede mash and cabbage fried in butter.

Not sure about breakfast, probably some meat and cheese since I'm having eggs for lunch.

I drink lots of water anyway (about 2-3 litres) so I'm ok with that. Finding it a bit boring though so might have to buy some three mint tea to drink to. I also drink my coffee black and I'm trying to cut back anyway so limiting to three cups (that's cutting back for me Grin )
