Welcome all!

I see that there are almost 130 of us signed up for this one, which is brilliant.

I'm starting the week 1 thread a little early, as I'm away this evening and won't be back home until mid-morning tomorrow, and I know you all want to get cracking Grin

So, without further ado, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

If your name isn't on it, just add yourself at the bottom. Don't worry about the alphabetisation - wombattoo will sort that out later. Add your weight, but don't touch the blue cells!

It's up to you when you weigh; I'll start a new chat thread each Monday, with a link to the spreadsheet, but if you feel happier weighing on a Friday (or any other day) then it's totally up to you.

God I am craving something sweet or alcoholic this evening! Not hungry at all but would eat my ample right thigh for a choccie or glass of red right now!

zobalina77 · 29/10/2016 20:45

Tonight has been difficult as its normally takeaway night but have managed to divert my husbands attention to chicken and mushroom stroganoff with creamy leeks!

Breakfast was leftover Tex mex casserole and lunch was scrambled eggs.

Hope everyone has managed to avoid weekend carby foods so far.

BIWI · 30/10/2016 08:12

Plumstone - no seeds in the first two weeks I'm afraid!

Hi and Happy Diwali to all my fellow LCBCers.

Anyway,

Forgot to post yesterday, but did ok:

B: rather randomly, two roast chicken thighs and a coffee
L: a pepperami as was busy all day
D: thai beef salad

Today will be:

B: boiled egg, cheese and hams
Probs no lunch as we're having an early (for us) dinner with DM, which will be

tandoori style chicken
Saag paneer
Vege curry of some sort, maybe okra - not sure yet

Will have to state clearly to DM not to load my plate with rice, or insist on me having chapattis , parathas or poppadums.

She's not an easy person to say no to though that's a whole other thread

danTDM · 30/10/2016 09:03

Have been doing so well and definitely I look slimmer round the tum and my face looks different somehow. However, after doing well all week and all day, last night I was pathetic. I had a tangerine and white wine and breadsticks.

What an idiot. Anyway, this morning avocado for breakfast and beef and veggie stew just made and bubbling away for lunch.

Back on it.

PS You feel super drunk super quickly on low carb! It's self limiting as you really can't drink much.

danTDM · 30/10/2016 09:04

OH Happy Diwali achange
Good luck avoiding all that utter deliciousness!

Veryflummoxed · 30/10/2016 09:19

DanTDM. I know carbs are carbs and we shouldn't have them but that sounded very restrained to me. Smile

Veryflummoxed · 30/10/2016 09:20

Sorry, should have said not have many and from the correct source.

danTDM · 30/10/2016 10:03

veryflummoxed you are so kind! Thanks, given me resolve to keep on!

Seaside if it's any consolation, I went from LC to a moderately carby week in Italy and had gained five pounds after 7 days. I went back to LC and it literally disappeared within the week. I think it was carb water weight, the same glycogen stores that cause the dramatic losses some people will see in the first week of BC. I was so pleased as normally holidays throw me right off but it was so easy to get back on it.

Yesterday had two non-BC foods. Did a 17-mile walk and then had dinner a friend's who I had told I was doing low carb. They kindly did an LC meal, but the roast veg included sweet potatoes, and they'd got in berries and cream for me as a special dessert (as that's what I was on last time I ate at theirs, doing BC light), so of course I ate a moderate portion while others had cake. They were very kind to accommodate me, so I didn't want to be difficult! But I managed not to drink despite being rather desperate for a G&T after seventeen miles or eat amazing looking cake.

Yesterday:
B: yoghurt, cream, vanilla, coffee with cream
L: smoked salmon and avocado salad
D: roast salmon with roast veg, berries and cream
S: two HB eggs, small piece of cheese

Today:
B/L: bacon, scrambled eggs with cheese, avocado, rocket, two cherry toms, coffee with cream
D: will be out for friend's surprise birthday, looking at menu will probably be steak or lamb skewers. Will be extremely hard not to drink as I know they'll be calling me out on it, trying to decide whether to have one glass at bar and then water with meal or just to say I'm not drinking at all...

Raisinthedead · 30/10/2016 11:35

Feeling dreadful today. Woke up on early hours with terrible pains in my tummy / indigestion to the extent I convinced myself that I as a stomach ulcer - as you do at 3am!

Still feeling really nauseous and bilious (is that a word?) with terrible headache and aches and shivers too. No temp though. Not been able to eat at all today, managed half a pint of water and that's it so far. I know you are meant to eat 3 meals but today it's just not going to happen.

In sole charge of an energetic toddler today too, which is difficult especially as is id promised a trip to the park and painting today.

Feeling miserable

wombatTombstones · 30/10/2016 12:21

Raisin that sounds awful Thanks if you really can't eat please make sure you drink plenty of fluids.

Pengweng · 30/10/2016 13:24

So far so good. Looking forward to the first weigh in as tomorrow as long as i remember before i go to work.

B: 3 small eggs scrambled with butter and a dash of cream
L: Tuna with mayo, 2 cheese slices and a packet of pork scratchings. (am studying so needed something i could eat at my desk)
D: Will be bacon chops, asparagus and mushrooms with a garlic cheesy creamy sauce type thing.

No snacks so far. I've been doing ok without them most days. Must drink more water and less coffee!

Keep on keeping on everyone.

Piscivorus · 30/10/2016 15:26

This has been my first weekend for ages with having some kind of blow-out as we've had one thing after another every weekend. Done surprisingly ok but am now desperate to eat something

Piscivorus · 30/10/2016 15:28

Oops posted too soon!
I know I'm not truly hungry am just craving something to nibble at or munch on.

StuntNun · 30/10/2016 16:42

Low carb win at London Zoo today. I had the choice of chicken or salmon with panzanella salad and cauliflower salad plus olive oil to drizzle over it all.

SestraClone · 30/10/2016 16:59

Had a day off BC this week, a few days after my Grandad died, as I wallowed in grief and carbs. It didn't help though, so back on it now with renewed vigour. He was actually an advocate of this WOE, he tried it many years ago (well, Atkins) with much success :)

I have found 2 amazing fruit teas, that I am hoping are ok! They are Sour Cherry and Rose Lemonade - and both are delicious. Since my favourite Buttermint is impossible to find these days, I am hoping I have found a replacement.

Pengweng · 30/10/2016 17:07

*sestra what brand are the teas please? I am desperate for something warm to drink that's not coffee and have run out of my three mint tea.

SestraClone · 30/10/2016 17:17

Plum, could you share your pork belly stew recipe please? :)

SestraClone · 30/10/2016 17:26

Peng, they are Taylor's of Harrogate (and are on special at Morrisons right now at £2 a box). www.taylorstea.co.uk/herbal-fruit-tea/rose-lemonade/ I am hoping they are carb free!

I thought I'd do a wee post about eating out, in case it is helpful to anyone. Having been doing LC since Jan, I have had to eat out quite a few times! These are the best things I have found on the menus ...

Wetherspoons - any steak with salad (they are happy to swap chips for salad). Per peri roast chicken with salad & pink coleslaw. Chicken, bacon & avocado salad.

Five Guys - they do bunless burgers, they wrap in lettuce instead! I have the bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, pickle and mayo.

Frankie and Bennys - Chicken, bacon & avocado salad, minus the breadsticks.

Nandos - Crispy chicken thighs with salad & coleslaw

Subway - Turkey & ham salad, tuna mayo salad (they turn any sub into a salad box)

Tesco - they do an egg omelette wrap with ham & egg salad filing in the sandwich section

Veryflummoxed · 30/10/2016 18:06

Rose lemonade tea sounds good SestraClone. I will try that.

I woke up hungry today and had a cooked breakfast and a large lunch then supper and it's still only 6pmBlush

I've had celeriac lots of ways but today was the first time roasted. Delicious.

Breakfast....gammon slice and 2 (very buttery) fried eggs.

Lunch....roast beef. Roast celariac. Buttered asparagus, cabbage fried with shallot and mushroom. Horseradish

Supper...... Stilton, Edam, celery, mayonnaise.

Day 7 and going well. Have also increased my daily steps from a pathetically low level. Will increase the target again next week. Today's meals

B - some boiled egg with butter, but ended up chucking half of it away as it tasted disgusting. I think I have to decide now that I don't really like boiled eggs.
L - didn't feel at all hungry but had a slice of cheese and some olives, plus a coffee with cream
D - leftover lamb keema with cabbage and leek cooked in butter. Delicious.

nekobus · 30/10/2016 19:47

Thanks for the tea tip, Sestra, I too am missing my buttermint - have they stopped doing it as it seems to have disappeared?!?

Today went well food wise although the kids were up early of course so we didn't get an extra hour in bed - I missed a trick as I forgot to change DS's groclock before bed and so he was insisting on getting up at the usual time...Hmm

Food today:
B - omelette with grated mozzarella
L - pub lunch of ham and eggs with salad instead of chips.
D - LC meatballs with courgetti
S - one babybel but otherwise haven't been hungry (al last!)

NotdeadyetBOING · 30/10/2016 19:50

Hello all. Room for another one? Have added my name and starting weight to the spreadsheet, BIWI, but not touched any of the other cells so hope that is ok. Have been carby pig of late and need to sort myself out!

lisbapalea · 30/10/2016 20:09

Hi all,

Busy day out today but managed to stay on plan thanks to Gourmet Burger Kitchen who do bunless burgers with delicious steak mince, with great cabbagey coleslaws as an alternative to chips / bread. Also had halloumi and olives as nibbles.

Breakfast was coyo and Greek yog but I foolishly added flaxseed. Have since seen BIWI's note that seeds are off limits, which I did know but somehow I hadn't clicked that flax would be included in that - doh! Have had prob half a tbsp of flax 3 times this week so hope I haven't done too much damage.

Not particularly hungry this evening but might have some cheese and avocado to eat in front of tv with yet another pint of water...
