Is this where everyone is hanging out before the next BC?

I couldn't manage the last one, wasn't well and it got too hard, but been back on the wagon since new year.

Has anyone used the no carb noodles? I did them with stir fry tonight and they were vile, not sure if I did something wrong.

milkmilklemonade12 · 07/01/2016 20:01

charlie I bought a spiralizer from Lakeland and make courgette noodles and cooked them as you would fresh pasta; amazing! Really really good.

lisbapalea · 07/01/2016 20:08

I remember someone in a previous BC thread saying those noodles were not nice so I don't think it's your cooking charliesierra! I also remember them saying they contributed to a dodgy tum, so watch out for any gurgling!!

I have been absolutely rotten again today with this sodding throat infection so have barely eaten or drunk anything as swallowing is so bloody painful. Any idea of the carb count of cocodamol, ibuprofen and salt water gargles??

In amongst my self pitying I did weigh myself and had lost 3lb since Monday but I guess not eating today may have made a contribution to that so I won't get my hopes up at maintaining that loss once I recover!!

DartmoorDoughnut · 07/01/2016 20:17

I'm def in for the next BC, stone to shift and Christmas treats still hanging around = weight gain not loss Grin

CharlieSierra · 07/01/2016 20:38

Yes, I have a spiralizer, I'll definitely be sticking to courgetti in future. I'll watch out for the tum, but feeling pretty crap anyway, hoping its carb flu as I'd been eating so much sweet stuff over Christmas and off plan for months.

FelicityFunknickle · 07/01/2016 20:49

Bugger!
Was doing so well
Gym before work Star
Atkins bar for breakfast
turkey, letuce and mayo for lunch
Coffee with coconut oil for drinks
When i got home i wasnt even hungry initially
Then i had one fried egg (all there was) with some wensleydale
And........ A handful of nuts Blush

I need a spiraliser

VikingLady · 07/01/2016 20:50

Last time I did find the worst of the carb flu headache was reduced if I had more salt. It's easy to forget you need to replace salt if you're drinking so much extra water!

VagueIdeas · 07/01/2016 21:01

I may be mistaken re. stock cubes milkmilk. Per 100g they're carby (although there are some gluten free ones from Kallo which are WAY lower) but when you take into account the actual weight of a single stock cube, and the fact it's so diluted, they're probably fine.

Knitmyshickers10 · 07/01/2016 21:03

I find a packet of pork scratchings kills it for me so yes, it's probably the salt.

My carb flu headaches have come every evening since Monday, I feel ok during the day but the evenings are hard and that when I'm more likely to fail. I have a pint of water next to me all the time but I'd bloody kill for a wine....

DiscoDancer · 07/01/2016 21:18

Started a Light version of bootcamp on Monday, when should I expect the carb flu symptoms to appear?

CharlieSierra · 07/01/2016 21:18

I'm starving as I had to leave most of my veg as it was all mixed up with the repulsive rubbery 'noodles'. DH is still finishing off the mince pies and chocolates so I've retreated to bed with a mug of warm spiced almond milk with a slug of cream plus a couple of paracetamol.

FelicityFunknickle · 07/01/2016 21:19

Oh yes, wine. I do miss that.
I don't drink enough water. Very limited loo access during the day Grin

FelicityFunknickle · 07/01/2016 21:20

Poor charlie
The almond milk sounds lovely though.

FelicityFunknickle · 07/01/2016 21:21

Dunno discodancer I was womring the same.
Maybe we won't get the carb flu.

AuntieMaggie · 08/01/2016 09:36

CharlieSierra the carb free noodles/pasta/rice are better stirred in with stuff to be honest to cover up the taste

FelicityFunknickle You can have nuts on boot camp light so don't panic

LexLoofah I tried your cauli Cheese recipe last night (minus the bacon) and it was really nice so thank you!

I've just checked oxo stock cubes and they contain about 1.3g of.carbs per 100ml of made up stock

GingirlBells · 08/01/2016 10:08

Morning all. I had a sneaky weigh in this morning and i have lost 4.6lbs since Monday. Grin I know it is going to be mostly water, but it's a good start. there is even a chance now that I may start this bootcamp at the same weight as the last one.

Knitmyshickers10 · 08/01/2016 12:52

Checking in!

Yesterdays food was

B - 2 eggs with cheese
L - chicken salad with mayo
D - Bolognaise sauce with minced beef, cheese on top

Lots of water!

Today is

B - Slice of chicken, 2 eggs and 3 tablespoons of Fage Total Greek Yog
L - Tuna in oil, salad and mayo
D - not sure yet - possibly courgetti and mushrooms in butter, chicken breast fried off in butter

Sneaky weigh in tells me Ive lost 4lb since Monday too - all water no doubt but heading in the right direction.

YellowBellyBear · 08/01/2016 14:35

I've ordered a spiralizer! I love gadgets Grin

milkmilklemonade12 · 08/01/2016 14:36

Oh boo hoo I forgot my lunch! Still, lucky I had some snacks on me!

B: ff Greek yoghurt with chia seeds
L: pork scratchings, LC veg sticks and 2 babybels
D: Cauliflower cheese

Lucky I found that pack of pork scratchings in my car or it would have been a very thin lunch for me!!

I've been enjoying cinnamon tea and chamomile and apple tea today, don't think there's an issue with those kinds as in carbs, right?

milkmilklemonade12 · 08/01/2016 14:37

Ooooh the spiralizer is such a good little kitchen gadget!! The 'noodles' are better cooked though than eaten raw (like in a salad) in my opinion.

VagueIdeas · 08/01/2016 17:07

I'm down 3lb since the weekend too.

I've been pondering a spiralizer. Problem is I have next to no kitchen storage space, so I make do with thinly sliced courgette - which isn't quite the same, aesthetically speaking Grin

feekerry · 08/01/2016 17:40

My first weigh in is tomorrow (8 days since started) girls at work said my trousers were 'hanging off me' lol so hoping for good things!!!

Knitmyshickers10 · 08/01/2016 17:51

I use a potato peeler to peel thin slices of courgette. I have a spiraliser in my Amazon basket but I wonder whether I'll be arsed to clean it each time.

Knitmyshickers10 · 08/01/2016 17:54

Craving badly this evening. It's because it's the weekend and I'd usually have chocolate or wine (or both). I've just had the most gorgeous tea of mushrooms, chicken, courgette fried in butter then 2 large spoons of FF soft cheese stirred through with some tandoori spices. It was lovely and I'm not at all hungry just craving :(

LexLoofah · 08/01/2016 19:33

knit I use a peeler too, cba with a spiralizer, your tea sounds lovely

mine was rather good too - low carb sausage rolls using the fathead pizza dough, thanks gcal if you are reading this - you are a genius woman!

is there a new boot camp starting soon? or in Jan?
