Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the the Weight Tracker (I hope that link works but apologies if it doesn't!)

So we come to our first weigh-in. I know from last week's thread that results are going to be a bit mixed - but I hope that most of you will see a good loss.

If you haven't, don't panic! Sometimes it can take a bit of time for your body to trust you, especially if you're a bit of a serial dieter.

If you think you've been doing everything according to the rules, but still haven't seen a loss, then list out for me your meals over the last 3 or 4 days and let me see if I can spot anything obvious.

But whatever the results are today, please remember it's not a competition!

We all lose weight at different rates. And someone who sees a big loss in one week isn't going to see that every week.

And remember - it's not all about what the scales tell you. You'll find that your body shape can change even if the scales remain unchanged!

Good luck to you all.

I havent lost much weight recently - i messed about losing and gaining the same few pounds, i have started exercising and i am def seeing my shape change, this week i lost 4lbs yay.

I can not seem to get below 13.8 - i will have to go dairy free and see if that kick starts things. I was supposed to be fasting today but after my running last night i was just too hungry this morning.

My mum came out with a cracker the other day, she said " you are looking very slim from behind" and then i asked her how i looked from the front and i just got a uummm - bless her.

Just need my massive jelly belly to go down now. Hoping the evil core exercises prescribed by my PT should sort that. I look out of proportion now and i think my belly actually looks worse even though it has gone down. On the plus side i am 2st down from this time last year and the best part of 3 dress sizes. Will just KOKO

Patapouf · 21/05/2015 11:25

plum Starbucks soy lattes aren't that bad, the soy milk is 3% carbs, so a small one is fine! Even the sugar free syrups are carb free, but obviously full of artificial nasties.

Patapouf · 21/05/2015 11:26

blessed do you think you might have stalled because of the fasting?

dillite · 21/05/2015 11:53

justonemorethread I am the same. I had breakfast at 8am and am feeling hungry now even though I have been drinking water like a fish. Yesterday I was having massive hunger pangs about an hour after eating. I actually felt like I was about to faint. It was all fine the previous days, I wasn't hungry at all.

Romeyroo · 21/05/2015 12:14

Hiya,

It was me that posted about the soya lattes - I was having unsweetened once from my local independent coffee shop and decided to ditch them. Doing so broke a stall, and I lost another 3lb. I have a black coffee now with soya milk on the side.

Starbucks ones must be sweetened in some way - and I did look them up, they have 8g carbs - remember that 3g is per 100ml, and you are drinking more than that in a cup.

That said, I didn't ditch them until I was a good five months into LCing and there was nothing else apart from cheese and dark chocolate to remove from my diet. I am pretty much at the stage where there is nothing else to take out of my diet without getting really restrictive; which I won't do. But if you are stalled, stopping the soya lattes will make a difference.

I have not caught up on the thread, yet, as I am working - just jumping in at the soya latte comment.

Romeyroo · 21/05/2015 12:15

unsweetened ones, not unsweetened once...

blessedenough · 21/05/2015 12:22

Pata - dont think the fasting has caused the stall as i have only fasted once and this stall has been going on for ages. Its not really a stall more of carb creep, too much dairy, too much wine etc.

In the May 2014 BC i fasted twice a week and lost 1st 7lbs in 10 weeks, this year i have lost only 1st and a bit - since Jan. I am seeing this as a way of life and this is the year i WILL get to goal, i just need to be strict again.

This year i have entered a charity 5k, i literally cant run for a bus so i am hoping the exercise will get me fitter and toned and the woe thin!

I have been fat for so long i cant actually remember what i look like thin - my hubby has never known me less than a size 14.

nobodyknowswheremyjonnyhasgone · 21/05/2015 12:49

Aah just a bag (yes a whole bag) of marshmallows. Posted below about a massive cake I have to make and started to amass the stuff, stupidly just before lunch.

Need to stay positive. I now feel sick, I didn't enjoy them and have no urge for anything else. Am going to get on make the sponges while I feel this way. I always knew this weekend (multiple family birthday party withme providing the cake) was going to be a challenge but decided to stop postponing starting lc as there's always something.......

plumstone · 21/05/2015 13:13

OK the soya lattes have to go - never have the syrup - for me even the unsweetened ones are two sweet, will go back to a small filter black coffee - love it when my life gets this exciting!!!!

Bit more perkier than I have been all week, started menu planning on a spreadsheet WOOOOHOOOO - love a bit of excel, makes me feel all in control

Blessed I hear you - I am a 14 sometimes a generous 12, but I know there is a kick ass size 10 plum in there somewhere, she is really wanting to get out - and this time so help me she will escape!!!!!!

ApplySomePressure · 21/05/2015 15:19

hey everyone - this thread sure moves fast! I've fallen asleep at 7pm the last two nights Blush so I have not been able to update.

For the first time in 6 years I am below 13 stone! I had a cheeking weigh in this morning...

Today the office has been full of pizza, chocolate, crisps and cake. I resisted everything and tucked into my salmon instead. It was hard, but it'll be worth it. I've never had such strong willpower before.

B: Pork chop and courgette (friend in butter and coconut oil)
L: Salmon with 5ml of soya sauce, fried in coconut oil, spinach
D: No idea? Pork again?

LexLoofah · 21/05/2015 15:33

plum isn't there a bulletproof cafe near where you work? Oxford St right? thought there was a branch of Black Sheep down Bond St end, poss Marble Arch but that might be too far I guess - just a thought then you can still get your second coffee of the day fix without the soy/carbs

I think I saw there was a little pop up coffee stall in Urban Outfitters at one time but that might be out of date info - again think it is Marble Arch. I have a little pot of cream at work so I can get a black coffee/chai tea and add my own.

just one more yes it was me asking where you live, OK will stop complaining about veg as at least we can get more than cabbage! Yes cauli's expensive here too, we call cauli mash 'millionaires mash'. Envy at trash's box of caulis for the price of one cauli here.

At least on LC I am no longer getting cross every week when fruit is either hard and tasteless or mushy and mouldy and expensive as we don't buy nearly as much, just for the DCs

diggerdigsdogs · 21/05/2015 15:38

Just posting today's food. I'm knackered.
B: BP chai
L : caeser salad
D: creamy chicken, leek, mushroom thing with cauliflower rice.

LexLoofah · 21/05/2015 15:50

Pata sorry don't know why it is not working for you, if anyone else on here has an ipad mini 2 please can you try? I can always enter your updates as one or two will be fine for those that really can't access - thanks for trying.

plumstone · 21/05/2015 16:11

HI lex, thanks for this there is Crush which is just beyond Berkley SQ have had it from there a couple of times. The issue is I don't actually like coffee with cows milk or cream so I never have Cappuccinos, lattes or anything like that coffee and tea are always black. I got quite excited when i discovered I liked soya lattes. BPC is actually really nice but I think the flavour of the coconut and the texture is different to a coffee with milk or cream. I will go back to my black coffee and when I am pushed to the edge its Peppermint tea - I know crazy!!!

cathyandclaire · 21/05/2015 16:14

Tummy looked a little less squishy this morning I thought...< pokes doughy bits optimistically> my abs are in there somewhere desperate to get out.
B: Mushrooms and eggs
L: Bits and bobs, celery, cold meat, mayo dippy stuff.
S:I'm going to attempt a courgetti carbonara for the whole family.

I can't quite bring myself to try a BPC, the idea of it just gives me the shivers...is it lovely? Or just like drinking a black coffee with an oil slick on the top? I really need to cut out/cut down milk it's just so carby even if it is lactofree.

Gcalgske · 21/05/2015 16:20

cathy you either froth or with a frother blitz it in a blender so there's no oil slick, it's like a creamy latte.

PeppermintFrog · 21/05/2015 17:11

Bit late I know but can I join you please? I've been meaning to ditch carbs for a while and being part of a group might give me the buttkick I need!

shebedee · 21/05/2015 17:16

Hi Hangon
I bought this through Amazon - Attmu Vegetable Spiral Slicer -for £13.99 and works really well with courgettes. The ends bits have to be chopped up unless you want spiralised fingers but it does about 80% of the courgette. Not so fantastic with carrots but then we shouldn't be eating too many of them. I also got a regular julienne peeler for £8.99 in a cook shop which does a good job- just long straight strands of anything you fancy.

blessedenough · 21/05/2015 17:19

Cathy- i love a BPC, they take a bit of getting used to but i love them now. I like strong coffee and i think they work best with proper filtered coffee and whizz with a stick blender - drink whilst hot. They can get a bit gacky with too much butter - i use 25g and 1 tbsp of coconut oil. Yum.

shebedee · 21/05/2015 17:22

I hope everyone is keeping and doing good.
Today so far -
B- smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
2 BPCs and 2 more with just cream (bit too much methinks- feel jittery)
L - crustless quiche with Boursin, courgette, shallots, bacon lardons and salad
Vanilla chai with coconut oil and a smidgen of cream
D- probably tuna mayo and salad as out tonight. Just have to resist drinking wine when out.
Is this too much cream I wonder.

BIWI · 21/05/2015 18:14

Hi everyone. Sorry I've not posted for a couple of days.. Got a bit pissed off as I got on the scales on Tuesday morning only to find I had put my weight back on again. Anyway, KOKO I guess.
Went to see Derren Brown last night, had dinner in The Olive Branch on Broughton Street (Edinburgh) before the show. It was delicious (although slightly carbier than bc might allow) had scallops wrapped in bacon to start then warm duck and pomegranate salad as a main. I would definitely recommend.
I did stick to water though and no dessert so hopefully it won't do too much damage

Food today
B Ff yog with cream
L Salad with ikea meatballs
D creamy leeks with bacon

Not enough water yet as I've been out and about.

Preminstreltension · 21/05/2015 19:20

ooh I'm on Berkeley Square (waves to plum in the queue at Crush). I've had the BPC from Crush but I usually don't bother and am quite happy with black coffee and fat from elsewhere.

Speaking of which, I thought you might all appreciate a photo of my high fat low carb bolognaise sauce that I made last night - if that's not high fat then I don't know what is!

Week 2 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!
LexLoofah · 21/05/2015 19:30

preminstrel now that is what I call a healthy protein to fat ratio!

B - spinach in butter & parmesan, 2 eggs scr in butter and Wensleydale (always makes me think of Wallace & Grommit!), cuppa, BPC
L - met up with a friend, got a huge salmon fillet on spinach & cucumber salad with a smidge of oil & balsamic vinegar dressing. Hoping the salmon has enough fat to fill me up as was starving by lunchtime
D - will be lc sausages, cauli mash, broccoli with butter
