Welcome everyone!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that the lovely Sayra creates and cares for. Come and confess all.

If you prefer, you can use the individual Weight Tracker, provided by MNHQ, which will open (I hope) tomorrow morning.

Please make sure that you know the rules, and that you know about the allowed veg - look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - and think about printing them off so that you have them to hand

If you have any questions, obviously you can ask them here, but there's also a specific questions thread because the chat threads can move so quickly that questions can get missed.

Unfortunately I'm working pretty full on for the next three days, so won't be around very much - I'll try and check in as much as I can, but in reality I'm not going to be around very much until Thursday - apologies in advance.

Very good luck to you all

My first day on this BC got off to a bad start as I started snacking rather than eating proper meals. Despite a huge breakfast of eggs and bacon, I felt hungry all the rest of the day so didn't have two other proper meals. I kept it all low carb, though, just ate too much fat and too few vegetables. Starting again today, properly and will try and prepare lunch before I am so hungry I have a snack instead.
I have had a headache for the last few days and I realised it was probably because I'd been doing LCBC by myself since last week!

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 06:44

username I use to put mixed spice in my yogurt. I would have found it tart at the beginning, but I don't now.

I had a slight disastrous day. First day of BC and there is literally bugger all in! Organisational skills are very lacking!

I ended up with the left over taco mince, paired with the left over cauli rice from our currys at the weekend. Put a couple if dollops of sour cream on top. Taste wasn't too bad, however I did it too long in the microwave and the meat was all hard and dry. Urgh.

Going to go shopping today........

mummyto3 I have 3 under 5. I started with 3 under 15 months, and I could have written your post a few years ago. Not so much the crisps, but call it chocolate and coke and I'm you. Grin

ceres · 12/05/2015 06:44

Good morning all!

I'm planning on scrambled eggs for breakfast, salad with salmon and oily dressing for lunch and chicken for dinner with either salad or if I can be bothered leeks, courgette and mushrooms sautéed in garlic with cream.

This weekend I'm going to do some serious meal planning and might do some cooking for the freezer.

BIWI · 12/05/2015 06:54

Morning all!

I can't believe we're only on Day 2 and already people are talking about falling off the wagon

It's really important to be organised on this way of eating. It's a very unforgiving way of eating, especially when you're first starting out, so it's absolutely critical that you stick to the plan in the first two weeks. If you don't, all you're doing is sabotaging your own efforts, and the process of switching your body from burning carbs to burning fat will take you longer.

Planning is absolutely essential. Meal plan, do a full low carb shop and make sure you haven't got any tempting, high carb foods or snacks to hand.

That said, one of the other key tenets of low carbing is to make sure that you eat when you're hungry. If you're eating plenty of fat and drinking plenty of water you will find, after the first few days, that your appetite diminishes massively. But in the short term, whilst your body is still adjusting, you might be hungry. In which case - EAT! Just make sure it's something low carb friendly.

Cheese, hard boiled eggs and olives are all great low carb snacks.

patapouf,thx it's 148

Up early to do my stretches and just making a lovely coffee with cream.

Courage on the menu with dinner up thread made me laugh:)

MeerkatManners · 12/05/2015 07:29

Thanks BIWI. How often can we weigh ourselves, every day or once a week? I have lost 4lbs overnight so I presume all the water I drank yesterday really helped to flush out the amount that I was retaining.

ditavonteesed · 12/05/2015 07:32

Yesterday ended up really funny, I was hungry about 4.30 so had a chicken wing, then went back and had about 6 still had my dinner of steak and asparagus at 7 then I was full but felt a bit bloaty for the first time in a week. Mind you I was a bit stressed so I winder if that was why. No weight off this morning for the first time in a week but I dont feel bloated now.
Another good day planned, we did the shopping yesterday so many many options, dh was really pleased with the amount of meat in the fridge, may have chicken fried in butter and spinach for lunch. mmmm.
Eggs for breakfast, I had to buy eggs as my own 3 hens cant keep up with current demand.

TheWWord · 12/05/2015 07:34

I need to fit more water into my day before going to work, and after work. If I drink at work I end up having to shut the premises to go to the loo. Surely drinking enough shouldn't be so difficult?

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 07:34

Oops sorry *biwi" if I made it sound like I fell of the wagon.

Taco mince is just mince with a homemade spice in (cumin, chilli oregano etc) I just meant I ate something almost inedible.

To be honest if there would have been left over Brussel sprouts and soup, I would have eaten that. I have been known to have worse concoctions on occasion. Grin

Fatstacks · 12/05/2015 07:39

Morning all Smile

Lidl are having Greek week!
Including some very sexy olives.
Anchovies in various guises.
Feta loveliness.
Halloumi with basil or chillies.
Sea bass fillets with lemon and dill butter.
Gyros 2g carb per 100g so only a treat.

Beware the Gyros with rice Hmm the plain meat Gyros is in a box the one with rice is in a bag, both in the freezer.

Also free range eggs are great.

Don't go if you crave bread, they spitefully bake stuff to try and weaken people.

I send DS with a detailed list and show him pics on the app first

MeerkatManners · 12/05/2015 07:41

Have just read m0gz post from last night about weighing and water thanks that makes sense. Ditavonteesed our hens shall be arriving at the weekend.

PlayNice · 12/05/2015 07:44

Ooh, the sea bass and olives sound lovely. May have to try and find a Lidl today.

My day will be much the same as yesterday. Scrambled eggs for breakfast, pork mince and courgetti bolonaise for dinner. Going out for lunch so I'll have to be careful there. I hate not knowing what's in food.

Meerkat its up to you. Lots of us are daily weighers. But you do have to be able to cope with the fact that the scales might go up one day rather than down, with your body's natural fluctuations!

I weigh daily because it keeps me focused - but entirely your choice

right here is where I am going for my birthday on thurs anyone want to help me compile a lis of what I can eat?

Ellesbelles04 · 12/05/2015 07:55

Fatstacks- Greek week sounds amazing!

Anyhow, I'm a bit late to chat thread but just thought I'd say 'hello' (I'm one of those long time lurkers)

I've lost a stone since Christmas just tracking using My Fitness Pal and upping the exercise but needed a kick up the bum to keep motivated. This is the first time I have tried LCHF diet and I took the plunge as there is a lady in my office who has had AMAZING results.

She recommended buying a copy of the India Knight book, which I have done- sticking to Mumsnet bootcamp rules of course but their intro chapters on their relationship with food rings true on a few points.

I was fine yesterday, but struggled for what to have as my pre-gym snack (I normally have banana) and hadn't planned ahead so celery wasn't enough for me. I almost died on the treadmill!

So my starting weight is 190lbs, and I have a very important event in September- so lets see if I can knock a few lbs off. Good luck all!

Tetley650 · 12/05/2015 08:01

Yesterday consisted of
B - 1 black farmer sausage , 2 strips of streaky bacon, an egg andushrooms cooked in coconut oil.
L - sea bass and mayonnaise
D - aubergines in coconut oil and butter with 3 tablespoons of tomato and basil sauce.
1 mug of coffee with cream
3 litres of water.
Despite a couple of trips to the loo in the night scales are not playing fair!!!!!
I am never one who loses a whole heap at the beginning of a plan but wasn't expecting to see a large gain over night. However hopethis is because body took on board the water and is trying to work out what to do with it. Luckily no distractions in fridge or cupboards - DH working abroad and DS away at school.

PlayNice · 12/05/2015 08:04

Oh sweet Jesus, Ditavonteesed, that menu looks divine. Start with the seafood and the grilled meats and I doubt you'll have room to look at any more of the menu!

Patapouf · 12/05/2015 08:34

lavender I'll pop it on when I get in this evening.

I've brought prepared meals with me to work.
B: FF total yog. Is 100g enough?
L: leftover spicy mince, bit of mozzarella with lettuce and guacamole.
D: don't know yet, probably pork ribs and cauli rice with whatever veg I famcy later.

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 09:20

All 3 youngest dcs off again today. This conjunctivitis is bloody aggressive! All 3 woke with sticky eyes yesterday, but the girls are free of it this morning, but I fell for that a few days ago. Hmm I need to wait till all 3 wake up clear until I cease drops.
Dd2 is that use to it, she holds her own eyes open, and looks straight at it!

A full weeks shopping with 3 young dcs. Groan. I will need to muster courage. Or just cook everything in the freezer and call it English tapas......

DarkEvilMoon · 12/05/2015 09:45

"Or just cook everything in the freezer and call it English tapas......" Grin Sass

I am having a hellish few weeks so am bootcamp lite-ing until the 26th when I shall strict bootcamp. So there will be no meal tracking from me so not to confuse people.
Currently at 12 stone. I would like to be around 10 by Christmas (definitely) would be nice to hit that for Sept but we will see.

lisbapalea · 12/05/2015 09:47

Morning all - on the train into London and didn't have time to eat before I left so gulped down a coffee with cream and a teaspoon of CoYo! Plan for the day is

B - boiled egg, spinach and smoked salmon (pot from Pret a manger)
L - crayfish and avocado salad with oily dressing (also from Pret)
D - chicken, watercress and spinach salad with avocado, homemade mayo, maybe some blue cheese and other low carb treats I can find in the fridge!

It's my birthday tomorrow which I think may be a challenge. I know dd1 (5) has plans to make a cake with dh and I can't refuse to eat that if she has got so excited about it. I am also going out for lunch with my mum, who doesn't know about my LCHF plan, and is a bit of a diet interrogator / saboteur (mentioned already on another thread), so that might be tricky too. Dinner with dh in the evening will be fine as he is very supportive even though he isn't joining in - he's just loving my liberal use of cream, cheese and bacon in our food these days!!

Anyway, I will be super disciplined today, and on Thursday onwards and will do my very beat to keep damage to a minimum tomorrow!

Still loving this woe though, and realised that I am changing shape even if the scales are moving quite slowly since I started 4wks ago - my waist seems more defined and my stomach is flatter (although still saggy and fecked up by 2 csections). I have also noticed my nails, hair and skin all seem much healthier which is brilliant!

MrsHerculePoirot · 12/05/2015 10:00

I'm back! Starting at the weight I finished at a few bootcamp a ago. In between I've had a baby so happy with that.

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 10:01

So, just looked in the freezer and discovered a full peri peri chicken, 4 premium burgers, 2 apple and pork burgers, wild lakeland venison sausage, pheasant honey and mustard sausage, and wild boar and damson sausage!

Dp is allowed a food allowance if he is still on the road after 7pm, so whilst driving back from Scotland he stops at a farm shop and buys stuff there instead. I didn't realise we had this.....

Maybe because I can't see a fecking thing cos of all the bloody berries blocking the way!!

God, I'm so first world problems. Blush

DarkEvilMoon · 12/05/2015 10:13

Sass do you want to swap freezers? Envy Mine contains frozen broccoli and cauliflower and stuff for ds (carby stuff for his lunch box)
