Welcome everyone!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that the lovely Sayra creates and cares for. Come and confess all.

If you prefer, you can use the individual Weight Tracker, provided by MNHQ, which will open (I hope) tomorrow morning.

Please make sure that you know the rules, and that you know about the allowed veg - look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - and think about printing them off so that you have them to hand

If you have any questions, obviously you can ask them here, but there's also a specific questions thread because the chat threads can move so quickly that questions can get missed.

Unfortunately I'm working pretty full on for the next three days, so won't be around very much - I'll try and check in as much as I can, but in reality I'm not going to be around very much until Thursday - apologies in advance.

Very good luck to you all

MrsHP that is fabulous well done.

justonemorethread · 12/05/2015 10:30

You are all doing great! I really can't post properly as I don't have internet, today is my last day of visiting my mum who is unwell. Really sad to be leaving ttomorrow, we live far away in Africa. All my mum has the energy for is to sit at the cafe round the corner and treat me to something... I think I may have to go off plan for the day. Then one and a half days of travelling tomorrow... Have a feeling it will be a bad week!
Sorry I am ranting on about myself it is just really quite nice to come on here and feel connected to something outside of this family situation.
Will weigh myself on my return home.

justonemorethread · 12/05/2015 10:38

Dora just looked at your menu, seafood section , prawns/salmon/squid is what would feel like a treat to me ad I don't usually cook those at home. Hopefully they might have side dishes of mushrooms or cabbage... ?

Tetley650 · 12/05/2015 10:43

DORA - Let us know what you choose - sort of moving to Bangkok and so will have to be super conscientious in July particularly as Tesco out there has a full aisle with central pallets full of rice! Cooking at home will be easy but out and about - another story!

trashcanjunkie · 12/05/2015 10:49

Morning campers! Had a green tea with peach and something flavourings. Palatable.... Then breakfast was two boiled eggs with mayo and some ham. Drinking lady grey with coconut cream.

Going back to bed to do paperwork and put foot up. It's swollen up like a bastard.

tutorproof · 12/05/2015 11:08

Only on Mumsnet would I share such a thing .... but I've just done a poo so big I've blocked the toilet Blush Blush

The shame

I reckon I must have lost half a stone in 5 minutes Grin

Dumdedumdedum · 12/05/2015 11:18

MrsHP Wow, congratulations!
justonemorethread So sorry to hear about your situation, went through the same kind of thing for a few years myself. Hope there are other people around with your mum when you leave.
Tetley650 If you like coconut and coconut milk, you could go wild on green curries and just refuse the rice and have curried veggies too?
trashcanjunkie Make sure you get your foot seen to by someone who knows their stuff - I fell and sprained my ankle in January and still can't walk properly due to bad advice given to me by the people who x-rayed me. Oh, and put ice or a cold pack on it.

nobodyknowswheremyjonnyhasgone · 12/05/2015 11:19

Hi just checking in. Loving looking at the daily meals for ideas as I'm quite unimaginative when it comes to food, esp veg. I managed to stick to it yesterday.Felt dreadful this morning but DC3 was ill through the night so hoping its just tiredness from that.

Today

B: FF Greek Yoghurt
L: Salmon and spinach salad
D. Chicken stuffed with mozzarella, wrapped in bacon with creamy leeks. Was supposed to be celeriac too but I forgot to buy one this morning.

Must do better with veg.

Have good days all!!!

Tetley650 · 12/05/2015 11:21

Sorry about your mum just Hope she is well soon.

TheHappyCamper · 12/05/2015 12:21

Hello everyone on Day 2.

I'm still being super strict and think I've lost a lb overnight - we'll see if it stays off.

Plan for today:
B: 2 fried eggs, 3 LIDL German sausage and 1 bacon.
L: roast chicken leg, salad with cheese and HM guacamole.
D: chicken fahitas, sour cream and HM guacamole. I intend to wrap mine up in lettuce.

Tutor - I had the same problem last week Blush. Must keep drinking water!!

Keep it up everyone. I'm very impressed so far. I also like seeing what everyone is eating nobody.

ApplySomePressure · 12/05/2015 12:37

Happy day two everyone!

Really struggling to drink water....sometimes I'll teach all day without having a drink Blush

B: two chicke legs skin on with Delouis Mayo
L: tuna steak, spinach and sald with cucumber
D: unknown yet. Chicken stuffed with soft cream cheese and wrapped in Parma ham? With lots of salad

ApplySomePressure · 12/05/2015 12:38

And what is cauli rice? Sounds lush. Where can I find the recipe?

lisbapalea · 12/05/2015 12:43

Is there a total number of daily carbs we should be aiming for? Is it less than 20g, or is that still too high?

BIWI · 12/05/2015 12:45

Cauliflower rice:

One head of cauliflower, with the leaves cut off and the florets separated

Either - grate the florets (which can be very messy!) in box grater, or pulse it in a food processor until it looks like rice or grains of couscous.

I then use it to make a savoury rice - in a saute or large frying pan I melt a generous dollop of coconut oil, then sweat some sliced shallots, chopped ginger and garlic with chilli and any suitable veg that I might have. When softened, add the cauliflower and stir fry for around 5 minutes, until it's cooked. Add some soy sauce and fresh, chopped coriander leaves at the end to taste.

StuntNun · 12/05/2015 12:56

Lisba if you follow the rules you don't need to count carbs. 20g is very low and you shouldn't need to be that low for weight loss.

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 13:05

apply unlike biwi I grate mine and microwave for 10 mins and add......erm, salt!

I'd prefer biwi's though. Wink

PlayNice · 12/05/2015 13:08

Has anyone tried cauli rice with a stick blender, or would I be better off just grating it?

And any tips on whether a big batch would last in the fridge for a day?

lisbapalea · 12/05/2015 13:08

Thanks stunt - was just checking the info on the stuff I am buying in pret while I am in London today and it's all coming in OK, so I was just after reassurance that I am on the right lines.

I think I have dipped into bc light to easily since I started doing this 4 weeks ago, so after my birthday I might try uber bootcamp for a few days to get me on track again.

I really want to see a loss on Monday but as I am in week 4 I am stalling which is a bit annoying!

Kleptronic · 12/05/2015 13:08

I thought we needed to be around 20g carbs to go into ketosis?

Patapouf · 12/05/2015 13:08

I had 20g in my head too, so we can have more?

I've been tracking on MFP, just to make sure I'm not going crazy calorie wise with double cream! I am finding it difficult to hit 1200 every day though, and keep getting warnings on the app. I just haven't felt the need to snack very much so far, and because i have such a sweet tooth, if I can have a sweet treat I'd rather have nothing at all!

I've struggled with ED in the past and I don't want to get overly obsessive but I'm really enjoying having strict rules to follow and knowing I can have fatty & oily meals and still lose weight on this WOE.

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 13:15

klept it's my understanding that around 50g is usually the amount needed to be in ketosis, but that it is an individual thing.

I think some people can get away with 100g and other need under 30g or even 20g. It depends on how carb intolerant you are. Which may explain why diary stalls some and nuts stall others- the carb count gets too high.

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 13:15

*dairy

sassandfaff · 12/05/2015 13:18

pata mfp is a bit like Wikipedia, anyone can put in information and it's not always right.

You can use it for a very loose guideline if it helps, but remember it could be out.
Also you can change your amounts so that it doesn't keep giving you warnings. I've forgot off the top of my head, but I will check and post back how to do it.

lisbapalea · 12/05/2015 13:20

I agree with that sass - I just checked some scores on mfp and they were way out, for shop bought mayonnaise and also for avocadoes.

So use with caution, I reckon!
