Welcome everyone!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that the lovely Sayra creates and cares for. Come and confess all.

If you prefer, you can use the individual Weight Tracker, provided by MNHQ, which will open (I hope) tomorrow morning.

Please make sure that you know the rules, and that you know about the allowed veg - look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - and think about printing them off so that you have them to hand

If you have any questions, obviously you can ask them here, but there's also a specific questions thread because the chat threads can move so quickly that questions can get missed.

Unfortunately I'm working pretty full on for the next three days, so won't be around very much - I'll try and check in as much as I can, but in reality I'm not going to be around very much until Thursday - apologies in advance.

Very good luck to you all

Sayra I've just checked the spreadsheet and I am on there twice! This will queer the stats. I'm an iPhoner and so have been unable to update it. I've been searching the Internet for a solution it seems as though apple and Google need to talk!!!

SayraT · 15/05/2015 12:34

Ahh Tetley thanks. A few people were on twice but I deleted the duplicates, obviously since I restored the older version some of them have reappeared. I will sort it later Smile

dillite · 15/05/2015 12:44

Ugh, plain yoghurt is the devil incarnated! Bleaaurghhh

Breakfast- scrambled eggs with smoked salmon
Lunch- tuna and egg salad with greens and stuff
Dinner- salmon with salad

Will make some cheese crisps for snacking on and some cauliflower breadsticks for later today as well. Will see how it goes.

I need to find a way to make celery/ leeks/ asparagus/ aubergine edible as bloody hate them. Otherwise my veg choice is awfully limited for now.

ewanhoozami · 15/05/2015 13:19

Lisba why is your DH intent on persuading you to eat cake if he knows you're LCing? Confused

lisbapalea · 15/05/2015 13:23

Ah he wasn't doing anything malicious, I think it was an idea started by DD(5) who asked him to do it and he unleashed his inner Mary Berry to keep her happy and to surprise me. I don't think he quite gets how rigidly I am supposed to stick to this woe and I think he thought I could let it slip for my birthday. I probably didn't do enough to persuade him otherwise really!

The ricotta muffins were amazing by the way! I added one extra egg to the recipe, which made each muffin a bit bigger, then had it with a salad of spinach, avocado and pieces of brie and mozzarella, with lots of dressing. Really delicious.

lisbapalea · 15/05/2015 13:25

p.s. just checked the spreadsheet and my weight was still correct?

ApplySomePressure · 15/05/2015 15:13

thanks for the ketosis information everyone.

B: two low carb sausages. Scrambled egg made with butter and cream. Delouis mayo
L: Roast chicken and mayo salad. (yet to eat this..bad day)
D: Salmon and asparagus cooked in butter

Need to drink more water

ditavonteesed · 15/05/2015 15:51

this posst school run is a real problem for me, I havent been hungry until the second I wlaked in the door with the kids and now I am. I know that I am not so I am trying to think of things to distract me.

FresherThanYou · 15/05/2015 15:58

Hi is there a separate recipe thread? Need to know about lisbas ricotta muffins & bolognese sauce, presume it's not got tomatoes in it?
B: protein shake
L: 6 chipolatas & sautéed spinach
D: courgetti bolognese (hopefully)
Out for drinks tonight, driving so going to do my best to stick to water

LexLoofah · 15/05/2015 16:04

morning all, sorelip that is brilliant, pleased for you

well I have had a headache since yesterday but don't think it can be carb flu as been LCing since Jan, more likely linked to my neck/shoulder/back problems. Saw my chiropractor this morning and we discussed changing jobs as sitting down all day and twisting between my 2 screens and desk is not helping so need to think about re-training and a job that involves walking or moving a bit more which I actually like the sound of. Best get on with some work though now.

Gcalgske · 15/05/2015 16:45

Lunch was 1.5 sticks celery with pate, 1 slice roast pork belly in garlic and chilli oil.
Dinner will be more pork and a cheats melanzane parmigiana.

lisbapalea · 15/05/2015 16:48

There is a separate recipe thread which ia def worth checking but the stuff I mentioned wasn't specifically from it. Ricotta muffins are from the IPD book. Basically 250g tub of ricotta and 2 eggs whisked together with flavours of your choice. I did garlic, spinach and chilli. Would be nice with parmesan and some kind of ham / chorizo too. Bake in muffin cases for 15-20mins at 180deg ish.

Bolognese was usual recipe but use shallots instead of onions and choose tomatoes with low carb per 100g - sainsburys basics one are good. Go heavy on the olive oil and use fattier mince, not the lean stuff.

lisbapalea · 15/05/2015 16:49

Definitely agree about post school run. Just had two slices of leerdammer spread with butter and marmite, rolled up into cigar shapes!

Dumdedumdedum · 15/05/2015 16:52

Sorry, I seem to have hidden this thread even though I'm supposed to be watching it, an customise won't let me unhide it, so am posting on it to see if I can get back in. This is frustrating, along with not being able to search threads for recipes 1000 posts at a time.
I am demoralised and longing for a glass of wine. I am entertaining some people who like a drink tomorrow afternoon and am worried I won't be able to resist joining them in a glass or several. Am in very bad mood!

LondonBetti · 15/05/2015 18:58

Am loving this thread, thank you all! It's my first time doing anything like this and reading your messages are defo keeping me going!

A question about drinking (wine not water Smile) - I have a big event tomorrow and tomorrow night with friends that I haven't seen in 2-3 years. I definitely want to have a few drinks so can anyone recommend what will do the least damage? Will be back on the wagon Sunday for the forseeable future ....

BIWI · 15/05/2015 19:01

The Recipe Thread

BIWI · 15/05/2015 19:02

The best thing to drink is vodka or golden rum, and sparkling water. Add a few slices of fresh lime and lots of ice.

Or - slimline tonic, if you must - it's obviously got artificial sweeteners - with vodka or gin.

These drinks have no carbs in them.

If you drink wine, you will be drinking carbs - so stick to dry white, red and/or Champagne.

OP posts:
BIWI · 15/05/2015 19:03

Just be aware that even if you choose a drink with no carbs, alcohol is the body's easiest form of fuel, so it will burn that instead of fat, which is why if you drink, you often don't see any weight loss.

I am dying grom cheese overdose. And crave some fruit like mad. Dd constantly munching on some isn't helping me at all.

I made some cauliflower cheesy bread tonight. It's vile and nice at the same time. Too cheesy.

Fatstacks · 15/05/2015 19:07

Roast Cauli is the way forward.

Ever since GCal put me onto it I've been averaging every other day.

Sainsbury think I'm some sort of vegetable pervert.

LexLoofah · 15/05/2015 19:19

B - salami, prosciutto, Wensleydale, avo, cuppa, chai w cream
L - tuna w/ hm mayo, olives, hm pickles, celery, mini pepper, cucumber - Love this, used to avoid tuna sandwiches due to the high probability of sogginess, why did I not just do this instead? Who needs bread?
D - hm tuna burgers on lettuce leaves, prob some more hm mayo

Oh plus 2 Advil for killer headache

Have a great weekend all, long one for us here - lovely!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 15/05/2015 19:23

Cauliflower is some kind of wonder veg, isn't it? So versatile, and yet I never knew that until starting this WOE! I do love it though so it's no hardship. Grin

Bad day today. Started ok:
B - 2 Babybel cheeses
L - tuna and grated cheddar salad

and then DH said let's go out for dinner.

D - butter-fried trumpeter fish (kind of like swordfish, a bit) with roast veg (I asked for no spuds), which was very nice; but I blew it when DH suggested the taster plate for dessert (has to be for 2 people). Gah! BUT - when I got home I was all for "oh well I've busted it now, might as well have some chocolate" and I resisted this, at least.

Back to the straight and narrow tomorrow.

clare8allthepies · 15/05/2015 19:54

Really struggling today, I've had awful stomach cramps since about 3am and the squits (sorry for TMI Blush)

Tried to eat some frankfurters this afternoon but it was a real struggle and haven't been able to contemplate anything since. I've got loads of low carb food in but the thought of eating any just turns my stomach, any recommendations?

Gcalgske · 15/05/2015 20:12

fats you've made me smile after a very trying day vegetable pervertGrin
It's awesome though. Love roast cauli.

lisbapalea · 15/05/2015 20:19

I get a bit like that sometime clare8. Could you manage some roasted veg (cauliflower?) without too much fat on it? I miss the dryness of carbs sometimes which is weird - it's not a quality I generally look for in food!!

Or maybe some nuts, but that's bc light, I know.
