Week 9 - Low Carb Bootcamp - The End is Nigh!

BIWI · 10/03/2014 07:41

Morning all!

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the Weight Tracker

As we get to the end of this Bootcamp, I'd like you all to think about how MNHQ can make our space even better for the next time around.

The original plan was to move to the Weight Tracker and drop the Spreadsheet, which would mean Willie wouldn't have to tend it all the time - but we seem to have kept it going for this Bootcamp. If we were to lose it next time, what do you think you would miss the most?

For me, I think definitely the information in the tabs needs to be transferred over somehow - but is there anything else you'd like to see?

Anyway, a busy week for me as I'm off to Lille Tuesday/Wednesday, up at 5.00 am tomorrow and not getting back home till around 10.00 pm on Wednesday. All I will see will the inside of a taxi, a French supermarket, an office block and another taxi - no time even to go out for dinner on Tuesday night!

And I have no idea what's going to happen on the food front as it's all out of my control But then, that's what this WOE is all about - making the best choices we can at the time.

So - good luck to you all, hope that the fine weather helps you have a great week Flowers

My three day ubercamp is done, and I've definitely broken the one stone barrier. I'm not sure by how much, because I'm a daily weigher and it fluctuates, so I'll take Monday's weigh-in as the official!

I'm looking forward to getting back to the Total tomorrow, and I am having a mozzarella salad for lunch, but I found ubercamp very easy - I found I was even less hungry than I am usually on this WOE.

FelixFelix · 15/03/2014 23:43

Gatorade what is ubercamp? Sorry I am new to all of this! Sounds good, well done Grin

StuntNun · 16/03/2014 07:34

I found the same Gatorade. BIWI any idea why ubercamp is much more satiating than bootcamp?

DH and I were tricked in Pizza Express yesterday into ordering a pizza with a 'sweet potato base'. Well it wasn't a sweet potato base but a normal pizza base with a sweet potato sauce instead of tomato. Should have known it was too good to be true. Anyway DH and I ate the pizza mindfully and it was delicious then afterwards he went for a run and I did the shred to try and burn off any carbs/glycogen. My weight isn't up today so I think we got away with it but I expect some carb cravings may show up tomorrow. I just wanted to share so no-one else gets fooled.

TwitMcAwesome · 16/03/2014 08:04

SMS.
Meh, am keeping on keeping on, feel deprived ATM though. Am trying to drink my water, have run out of meat though. Will have Sunday lunch as normal, but after that I only have eggs and cheese. I might nt be able to get more until Wednesday Shock.
Any ideas?

EverythingIsAwesome · 16/03/2014 08:32

What does SMS mean? Probably something obvious, but it's too early on a Sunday morning for me Grin

Well, my official 1st weigh in on Bootcamp, and I am 10.4lb down :) so pleased. Hope to make it to a stone before the week 3 stall hits!

TwitMcAwesome · 16/03/2014 08:55

Shout(ing) my shit.
As the thread is fast and we sometimes only have time to post and dash.

PseudoBadger · 16/03/2014 08:57

I'm dreading weigh in tomorrow, I've had too much dark chocolate this week. My dad also now has the same chest infection as DP but he's got a weak chest so it's worrying, and dd is poorly with a nasty cold too so I've relied on snacks too much...

EverythingIsAwesome · 16/03/2014 09:08

aaaah! Thanks Twit, had no idea Grin

Fingers crossed you still see a loss tomorrow Pseudo, and I hope your family all feel better soon.

DurhamDurham · 16/03/2014 09:23

Good Morning fellow campers.

Reasonable good choices made at my sister's last night. I did avoid the potatoes, rice, garlic bread and focaccia (sp?) but ate lots of tomatoes with some gammon, salad, coleslaw and a lamb kebab.

I also succumbed to dessert, it was an almond cake, like the one from IKEA so although carby probably not as carby as other cakes.....or maybe I'm grasping at straws here and trying to convince myself Grin

Dreading the weigh in tomorrow as I feel bloated this morning, I feel 'fat' and worse than I did last Sunday. Last week I has stalled on the weigh in, it will probably be the same ( or eek even worse, a gain) this week.

Going for a long walk along the Quayside in Newcastle this morning, they sell amazing German sausages so that my plan for lunch.

Have a good day and see you all at the weigh in Smile

BIWI · 16/03/2014 09:26

That's really interesting about ubercamp being more satiating - not really sure why?

Possibly because those days are very low carb, you're eating more protein/fat? Even without the dairy.

durham I live at just at the top of the stone stairs by 'the swirl' on the quayside! I could have probs waved to you from my balcony!! I take it you've been to the famous 'tel und ginas' bratwurst stall? Dp likes currywurst for a hangover cure Grin

psuedo man what a fucker! how's dp doing?

littlemiss I have started to read some of your blog, and like others, did so with tears running down my face. I'm off to read some more next, and I just wanted to know how brave and wonderful I think you are xxxxxxx

Thumbwitch · 16/03/2014 13:30

Also SMS:
Another bad weekend. 2 children's parties - one yesterday, one today. Yesterday not so bad although I did absently eat a "fried egg" sweet Blush; today much worse as friend had made a lovely chocolate wheat and dairy free cake (made with almond meal) which was LUSH. I had to share my first piece with the baby, so had a second BlushBlush - but he had some of that piece too and fell asleep while shoving it into his mouth, bless him

Then decided that since I'd already buggered today, I'd be even badder and had half a bar of G&B milk choc, and a glass of red wine.

Was good on main meals though - well sort of - sausage and salad for lunch, mince thing and konjac noodles for dinner. I quite like konjac noodles/pasta, I've decided (THANK GOD!!!) so am quite likely to stick to using those instead of going back to normal GF pasta.

Keep on keeping on, everyone - back on the wagon for me again tomorrow.

trashcanjunkie · 16/03/2014 14:07

So here's a few not brilliant pics. They go backwsrds though! And obvs lacking any decor/soft furnishing

Is that a DIY round-the-room sofa thing, Trashy? My Dad made a corner bench with padded vinyl cushion tops a little like that for our kitchen - and when you lifted the cushiontops up, there was storage in the base sections. Very useful!

TwitMcAwesome · 16/03/2014 15:01

Oh crap I am seriously wanting a snickers bar. Like reAlly really.
Am glug ging water and Mn'ing but fuuuucccckk it's just like a gremlin inside me.

That's cool trashy Smile

Piscivorus · 16/03/2014 15:05

Looking good trashy! Do post pics when it's finished too please. Have you decided on colours, décor, style, etc yet? I had a window seat built into our kitchen, looks lovely, all I need now is some free time to relax on it!
Hope DS is continuing to do well

Littlemiss Amazing blog and lovely that you would share it with us Thanks

Thumbwitch · 16/03/2014 15:12

Twit - may I recommend some low carb bars to you? I find they really help when the need for chocolate hits (although I forgot completely about them when the G&B was calling to me earlier!)
Sadly, the ones I get aren't apparently available in the UK [note to self: take some in suitcase!] but these ones might be worth trying?

TwitMcAwesome · 16/03/2014 15:21

Thanks thumbwitch, unfortunately I want Something Now IySWIM?
Ideally I won't replace chocolate cravings with anything else. Ideally when the time is right I will be able to choose to have some, and it will be fine and won't stop me losing.
Not that I'm losing without it but you get my drift...

Thumbwitch · 16/03/2014 15:35

I do, yes! and I understand that you don't want to substitute - but I find that it's useful to have a couple in the cupboards for those really bad moments. Grin

Mind you, it would never be a snickers bar that I craved - can't stand sweet peanut things! Thanks to my Dad buying us peanut cracknell stuff to eat in the car while we went 4h up the M1 to visit grandparents - carsickness was inevitable, really.

GatoradeMeBitch · 16/03/2014 15:51

Felix Ubercamp is a stricter version of bootcamp - no dairy. There is an ubercamp tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet with suggested menus.

trashcanjunkie · 16/03/2014 16:10

mn'ing from my kitchen whilst waiting for coffee to brew before I go in and do more on the front room Grin

yes thumb it is, and it too has storage inside. I fitted the actual hinges myself and everything. [deranged emoticon]

had some help building the carcasses from an excellent friend who 'does wood' snigger, but as she is also an international jet setting performance artist, she's buggered off to dubai or qatar or somewhere, so I finished solo... Confused - the benches I mean Blush

have another friend coming tomorrow with her overlocker and she's going to stand over me and supervise whilst I sew the covers. Dp happened to have exactly the right colour material left over from when his mam made his curtains. Score!

pisco my colours are thus (drumroll) orange/green(think bright leafy) with accents of turquoise and aubergine and pink and silver.....

I am completely open to being saved from myself if that sounds too.... bonkers I mean, it's mainly green and orange (and white...) oh dear....

trashcanjunkie · 16/03/2014 16:11

oh, and touch wood, ds seems to be.... well, still going....
