hatesponge · 08/05/2010 21:09

elasta - I wouldnt go for someone the same height as me, but this is largely based on the evil Ex, who is my height. Arguably this shouldn't put me off all short men, but it does tend to...

kdk - shame there was no spark with the date. But onwards etc...I share your pain re standard of men online. I cant remember the last time I got a message from someone who could spell, let alone string a vaguely coherent sentence together- including one who winked at me yesterday whose profile charmingly said that he liked lady's (his spelling not mine) with the big breast and bottom

It truly is no wonder I am single, if these are the only options!

elastamum · 08/05/2010 21:13

I'm on GSM and most of the men on there are pretty articulate. I am dating one who cant spell too well , but he is dyslexic, though very successful in business. I did notice though so I was almost relieved when he told me

elastamum · 08/05/2010 21:14

Re short men, i think it is my ex FIL who really put me off, chip on both shoulders

hatesponge · 08/05/2010 21:24

elasta - your Ex FIL sounds much like my Ex!

I did think of signing up for GSM (am on Match) but tbh 'clever', professional-type men never look twice at me.

lou33 · 08/05/2010 21:55

i have dated men my height (am 5ft 7), and some of them have been ok, especially batman (we liked batman lol), but i generally prefer taller than me

mechanic is about 6ft

Betty79 · 08/05/2010 22:09

well i prefer men to be taller, exh was only a bit taller but if i was to choose (like in a sweetshop lol) I would go for someone at least 5ft 10-6ft and I'm only 5ft4 lol!

salizchap · 08/05/2010 22:10

Fit, interesting and available? Do they even exist?

Betty79 · 08/05/2010 22:16

saliz-well that is debatable lol!

kdk · 08/05/2010 22:16

Hi Salizchap - seems like Lou baggsed the last one!

I have to say that if there are any, they are playing incredibly hard to get - frankly I believe in them as much as I believe in Father Christmas!

Am seriously considering my xxxxx - the one who told me he was still in love with me after 20-odd years - we get on, I (vaguely) fancy him, he's not too bad in bad and at least I know him ....

Remotew · 08/05/2010 22:18

Evening all!

I'm shattered tonight and I only drove the 34 miles that DD walked for charity. It was a 40 mile walk!!! She did really well but had to be rescued as she suffered a reaction. Still raised a lot for charities.

No night out for me as I need to keep an eye on her.

Wish I could say what I was on about you know who but cannot. Think of a technical reason.

KDK no spark again? Shame. Will have to read up abit when I'm not so tired.

sincitylover · 08/05/2010 22:20

well done to your daughter eve - that's amazing

Hope she's ok

elastamum · 08/05/2010 22:27

OK All, have thought about this and will have a further chat with him and if he sounds fun then I will arrange a date and meeet him. Not normally my thing but I can think of a couple of seriously short men who I fancied the pants off so you never know. Also he is in London during the week and so am I on and off for the next couple of weeks so i might even get a date down south

The only thing I am finding is that it is all getting a bit confusing as I have now arranged to meet 3 blokes and am worried I wont remember who is who Still it has cheered me up no end!!

Betty79 · 08/05/2010 22:31

good for you, gives you a good idea of what you like (and what u dont) meeting a few!

Eve-well done dd!

Monty100 · 08/05/2010 22:40

Eve - has that little prick stolen something that might out your identity on here or something iyswim?? Well done dd hope she's fit as a fiddle tomorrow.

Elasta - why not?? You're not usually in the same place as potential dates .

Sponge - why do you say that??

Betty -

@ kdk

shame there was no real spark on your date though

eve well done to dd

a quiet evening her, and i am up too late

mainly because i have been baking again and then realised i hadnt put the clean bedding on my stripped bed

dd2 and ds2 both have sore throats, ds is a bit teary, bf got him ready for bed while i washed up and then i did the nurse bit , so he has gone off (hopefully) happier

unfortunately ds1 is sleeping in the living room as the cat threw up on his bed, and i am too tired to air the mattress and replace bedding

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 08/05/2010 23:19

hi everyone. been trying to post all night. but i reactivated a pof profile. and it's been a bit manic trying to read up and email.

belle - i think your warming to soldier.

lou - bf sounds to be slotting in well.

kdk - shame no spark.

and where do you lot get all these freaky msgs???/

i've been asked on date by one guy i shall call mr orwell.he's only 1 inch taller than me. i do like my men taller. but truth is that means the need to be 6ft 4 plus to be taller when i have killer hels on(my heels i own seem to be getting higher and higher), so i cant be fussy. as long as they are taller than me in flat shoes.

motorola has only sent 1 msg since told him he was acting like stalker. which is blissfully peaceful.

forces is in constant contact. going to try and see if he can get flights out one wkd in may but prices are astronomical with this volcanic ash carry on.

another gentleman i shall name mr eastwood (an ex forces man belle)... well..... i know already i should be running in the opposite direction as he like to drink. but i am strangely drawn like a moth to a flame.he has given me his number and we are in a marathon of witty banter.

i will go and try catch up again better in morning.

Remotew · 08/05/2010 23:39

Watch it Lou you will be getting that contentment spare tyre with all this baking. The reverse of the divorce diet.

Monty, might be, as well as stolen my heart!

Juice OMG reactivated pof profile, look forward to the deluge. Loved your dungies. DD wants a pair. You are looking very trim in them.

Another OMG watching guitar heroes on some channel and seeing the fashion and dancing to Thin Lizzy. I can remember looking like that.

Forgot to mention my FWB is back in the country, he was working in my area today and met me at a check point. Got a nice kiss on the lips before he was listening to my recent woes. He's off back to his area but will probably see him again for longer when he is next here. He saw DD on the road and rang me, I said he should have acknowledged her so he went back to do just that. He is the only one she has approved of in a long time.

Monty100 · 08/05/2010 23:51

Eve - but

OP posts:
Remotew · 08/05/2010 23:58

It's fine Monty, just need to keep busy with other stuff. I've had a terrible year so far, usually sail through life, however life cannot be that easy. Just think it's my share and we have to think about other people a lot less fortunate. Still got something unpleasant to deal with next week. Things can only get better and am feeling more upbeat. Just GCSE's etc to worry about.

Hope things are OK with you and yours, teens can be waring in their own sweet way.

Monty100 · 09/05/2010 00:03

Eve - GCSE's. Now that is something to take your mind off things . Just been on your fb to see the deal on dd today. She's so beautiful, I know you're very proud of her, so yes, whilst teenagers are exhausting, they're great too.

OP posts:
Remotew · 09/05/2010 00:13

She raised a lot of money today for worthy causes. Even though she didn't finish. Will send you and PM on fb.

Monty100 · 09/05/2010 00:24

Eve - will look forward to it.

Done!

aSilverLining · 09/05/2010 06:14

I have been awake sine 4:30am.

Eve - good on your DD

Elastamum - sounds positive on the date front, where are you finding men suitable for dates? lol. I prefer guys to be at least slightly taller than me (am 5ft6), I don't wear heels so not as much of an issue from that POV. I would go on a date though as you never know!

I too am wondering if there are any good men left - am trying my very best to remain optimistic.

hatesponge - some men are just completely clueless aren't they! Dating websites should maybe offer men basic tutorials.

kdk - tell us more about this guy you are considering

southsbelle - I am liking your footie bet lol, but am curious what he wins if your bet is wrong?

Hi to everyone else too.
singlemum01 and lou - my eyes are itchy too, and I have no tabs in, will have to go buy some!
