OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ninah · 08/05/2010 09:53

me too eve
all my weidos have been rl

aSilverLining · 08/05/2010 10:12

I attract the weirdos in RL too, on buses, in shops, pubs, walking down the street - I seem t be like a homing beacon to them.

I have munters mesage me too.
But yes they are not all bad.

Also is it really snobby of me to disregard people who cannot manage to string together a couple of sentences of basic english? I'm no pedant but come on people, punctuation and whole words instead of text speak please, it's not hard. Also swearing in messages between every other word. I do swear but not in place of an actual range of vocabularly. I'm awful aren't I?!

I'm a nice person really, honest!

aSilverLining · 08/05/2010 10:14

ninah - that is exactly what I thought, I couldn't believe that was his first message that he sent!

I think foot guy got booted, didn't immediately reply and when I went back into my inbox later in the day his message and profile where gone.

ninah · 08/05/2010 10:18

poor communication skills annoy me too, language is important to me
nothing to apologise for!

Remotew · 08/05/2010 10:29

I would never reply to someone who uses text speak. The odd abbreviation is OK but not whole sentences. I am only a little forgiving with a spelling mistake but if it's obvious they haven't been to school much then delete.

aSilverLining · 08/05/2010 10:46

Yes language is important to me too, I like reading and secretly write for pleasure. I think it is important to be on the same page in terms of communication style to. The odd spelling mistake is fine yes, a whole sentence full of spelling mistakes not so fine.

eve - hope you are now well shot of guy you had at yours? Sounds like even his 'friends' are realising what a nobber he is.

ninah - I too love my dressing gown (whispers)and slippers

lou - lovely the kids like your bf too, and hope you merrily waved ex back off to thailand (what a wanker).

monty - my ex has hooked up with a rough un too, he seems to be just using her for sex at the moment but the idea of them getting serious sends shivers down my spine, she is awful and I would hate for DS to have to spend any time with her.

juice - I would meet up with motorola out of stubborness just to get stuff back so that he had absolutely no reason to contact you further down the line. Love the costa suggestion!

betty - can you give me sitch on boilerman please? I'm guessing if I had been on here longer i would already know

Hope everyone with dates has a good time I am staying in with DS as ex changed his overnight to friday instead of saturday so he could go to a party.

SingleMum01 · 08/05/2010 11:02

kdk - how did it go??

Betty - good luck for Sun

SL - interesting messages

Lou - how lovely that your DS likes your boyfriend so much, you're so lucky

Eve - can you tell us what the big thing is??

Belle - thanks for your comment.

I really don't think he's a player, he's just so attentive and so full on considering we've only met once, and I'm so not used to so much attention! However, its nice to feel wanted and I do fancy the pants off him - no I mustn't go there (yet!). Maybe its a RAF/absence thing?

lou33 · 08/05/2010 13:35

Afternoon. Is anyone else suffering with really itchy eyes today? Mine are streaming and because I keep rubbing then my more is all blocked. And I have taken a pill.
Yes its all worked out really well wrt to bf and the kids. Ds1 was joking with me and the other kids yesterday that we should name this the era of j (his last name) like rode kind me golden period as he has made all our lives so much happier lol

Also he just told me his mum loved the cake I made her and has given official approval of me

SingleMum01 · 08/05/2010 13:54

My eyes are suffering this week too Lou, just thought I was under the weather, but maybe its the pollen.

I'm really pleased its all working out for you, your family and your bf

Betty79 · 08/05/2010 13:56

lou-It must be so nice that your kids love your bf so much, and vice versa by the sounds of it!

silver-Erm not much of a story really re boilerman, he's off zoosk originally, added him on facebook via there ages ago and been messaging back and forth for about a month before he asked me out. 2nd date this week, and we seem to get on well so is good so far

belle-I'm not planning on cooking anything for boilerman lol He's coming round to watch a dvd and it will be fairly late by time kids are in bed so didnt mention cooking anything. If things go well I may offer to cook for him another night What was soldier's reason for you booking a hotel room, or was it just the obvious?

eve-your always very cryptic lol hope whatvere it is goes well!

monty-how was the curry?

elastamum-2 dates in one day you minight take my crown soon!

juice-a few days in the sun sounds good, but get him to pay lol

ninah-love your answers to those weirdo's, I know where to come now if I need a quick relpy to odd balls lol!

kdk-so come on how did it go??

I'm having another wonderful day doing housework here

lou33 · 08/05/2010 14:21

honestly i feel really bunged up today, and washed out, though i had a late night for me so maybe that is also a factor

it is great wrt the kids and bf, and he does have a genuine affection for them all, he was saying last night how great they are

anyway i guess i better get on making stuff like scotch eggs and sausage rolls and cakes and dinner

i can see another never ending session in the kitchen coming .....

kdk · 08/05/2010 14:31

Hi all

sorry for not replying earlier to queries - bl**dy Saturday swimming lessons/lunch/trying to remember to wash school uniforms before Sunday night usual rubbish ...

Date went okay - but sadly no spark - at least none for me anyway. Tried for a snog when he dropped me off but just couldn't do it so made excuse that am far too old for snogging in cars and took myself home - I know full well that if I fancied him, I'd have been absolutely fine with it! Is a shame because we get on, have a laugh and I would happily go out for a meal/cinema etc - but that's it - friends and nothing more.

All I want is someone who makes my heart go ping and gives me butterflies in my tummy - and he doesn't ... Ah well ... Next!

kdk · 08/05/2010 14:36

And speaking of weirdo/munter types I give you ... whose message read Lets get it on - and got the message back Let's not ... and even better - message Single super dad seeks single wonderwoman - not bothered replying at all ... am wondering whether it is possible to buy a make your own man kit? There was also one who wanted to chat and asked when I would be available - yes, I'm available for chats between 5 and 7pm!

kdk · 08/05/2010 14:39

just realised links above don't work - no great loss I have to say!

sincitylover · 08/05/2010 17:08

share your pain kdk

Recent messages have been from a tarzan lookalike, a guy wanting phone sex and another looking for an itimate encounter.

Have ignored all of them. In fact haven't replied to a message for ages.

kdk · 08/05/2010 18:03

Have just had some horror calling himself virgin36 on okcupid - - not sure if that will work. Am horrified and running away to join convent if I can find one that will have me and the kids ...

kdk · 08/05/2010 18:05

or there is this one with the interesting profile picture - would love to know what sort of response he gets.

Betty79 · 08/05/2010 18:19

kdk-omfg!! the pic on that last one!cant help but laugh at the idiots tho! please tell me these people havent paid??

Monty100 · 08/05/2010 18:22

Kdk - Holy Jesus at virgin36 - boak. And the other one . That is depressing stuff indeed.

SCL - what's this about not soh?? What was the outcome?

Betty - curry was lovely. I finished it off this afternoon lol.

Belle - are you seeing soldier?

OP posts:
Betty79 · 08/05/2010 18:39

ha ha ha have u seen the head shot of the first one, there is no way those muscles are his!!!rofl! and as for the second one his other pic is just as bad, it makes me want to ask why oh why!!??

monty-mmm I've just had curry for my tea, not take out tho but still good

thesouthsbelle · 08/05/2010 19:15

where do you girls get these messages from!!! lol.

i've not had many from POF so have hidden again, fighter seems to be content at just emailing back & forth tbh. good with me thou.

kdk - both those last 2 - WTF!!!! sorry you didn't feel the spark, is it worth having a second one to confirm things?

lou - glad BF has fitted in with you guys so well. my hay fever is ok atm, usually starts thou when the rapeseed comes up/out.

betty - good luck with boilerman. solider wanted to do a hotel - originally I was ok with meeting at the place as I could have stopped with friends, but we've decided some where closer to me - the idea I think was to just be able to spend some time together and as we would both be travelling about an hour or so to get there for us to be able to drink & not worry. Not nec the other - I assumed he'd book one room - which tbh i'd sooner not get involved with that atm - one room plus him booking & paying either way i'd feel 'obligated' or something so would rather not get into the situation. Ps' - d'ya want to come n do my cleaning?

sm - be careful those which start hot n heavy can sometimes fizzle out just as quick, but run with it thou.

lining/eve/ninah hi ya guys, i'm the same - text speak hurts my eyes so they either get an email saying 'please can you translate that for me so I can understand it' or I don't bother.

oh and lining - it's not snobby to have standards - least that's what I tell myself! :D

would love to hear some of the replys thou to the email messages/RL weirdos lol.

well. have been out with nan today & am coming out of the dark n twisty mode. Have a bet on with soldier wrt the football. fingers crossed I win cos then he'll be cleaning my house in nout but my team's strip. (so so v mean lol) not much else going on atm.

waves for huicy/pirate/blondie as well.

thesouthsbelle · 08/05/2010 19:16

monty will be seeing him again on the 22nd.

elastamum · 08/05/2010 20:55

Hi All, Just wanted to get your thoughts on this one. Would you date a guy who is only as tall as you are??

Have had a couple of messages from a chap who sounds interesting, lots of similar interests, in a similar line of work to me, divorced and no kids, but his profile says he is as tall as me and I'm aveerage for a girl.

Would that put you off? Not sure what i think, have always dated taller men but did know one lovely chap at work who we all fancied but he was about 5 ft! Worth a date??

elastamum · 08/05/2010 21:00

OMG kdk!!!! are these people for real or are they just taking the piss

thesouthsbelle · 08/05/2010 21:06

elast - I personally wouldn't date anyone my height. but i'm 5'2 and like a man to be at least 5'7 - v v minimum i'd date tbh.
