Sponge - don't despair . Your ex voting BNP tho tosser. I blame that on a lack of education --or brain.

Juice - can you vibe me some of your energy??

Betty79 - this is the most unusual and nail biting election I've ever experienced, well apart from maybe, what was it, '87? Tories got in again................. god I'm even boring myself now.

I have the tv on, so far I have watched Coronation St, Men Behaving Badly, last bit of Outnumbered and just now Eastenders. No wonder I'm depressed!!!!

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/05/2010 22:47

just heard from forces.

hatesponge · 06/05/2010 22:51

Monty - definitely a lack of brain (DS1 once wrote on the wall at home 'dads brain is the size of a pea' )

...is this a man who should be coaching a children's football team (of various ethnic backgrounds)....I think not.

I remember the 87 election. I was allowed to stay up late watching the coverage even though it was a school night think I gave up in the early hours once it was clear the Tories had won again....

Monty100 · 06/05/2010 22:57

Juice - what has he got to say????

Sponge - I was newish to London then and was temping in Shell, me and this young Scottish girl were the only people around on the whole floor, we went and had a bottle of wine after work, sitting outside down at the Aldwych, she was even more depressed than me bless her.

OP posts:
ninah · 07/05/2010 06:49

don't dare switch on radio
... is it?
from out of the window all i can see is drizzle and sheep, they aren't clinking glasses or anything
even the trees round here are badge wearing tories
hate does your ex really believe in bnp?? or is he enough of an ass to wind you up?

ninah · 07/05/2010 06:50

monty did you know a man called Ernie Pitchfork

lou33 · 07/05/2010 09:24

depressing news of the day here is that the tory mp for my area increased is majority from 5000 to 26000

and belle, how in a million years can you ever consider yourself fat?!

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 07/05/2010 09:50

i agree with lou about belle and her imaginery fat

ninah - lol @sheep chicnking.

monty - just saying he was back and knackered. he's also heading back to germany this wkd. which is good news for me as normal contact resumes.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 07/05/2010 10:07

well it's turned blue here as well..god help us all..and god help our poor dcs...

Monty100 · 07/05/2010 10:58

Hi everyone, at blue successes.

Labour hold here with a slight swing to Lib Dem.

But it's the big picture we've got to worry about.

Ninah - Ernie Pitchfork??

We do digress on here sometimes .

Kdk - is your date today????

OP posts:
mrsmharket · 07/05/2010 11:44

hi everyone, hope you all ok today?

scl - i agree with you there but i have also done the same when i was a bit 'lonesome' but it does seem as though men's attitudes are still the same

juice - i was on fb but had to dash off to meet dd from school, sorry if that was you so what did forces say then?

sponge - i agree with juice that it seems very odd he needs time to be with an ill child but has time to be online on a dating site

kdk - well,is it today?!

nothing happening here, cons still in but at least that means no bnp [phew]

mrsmharket · 07/05/2010 11:48

apart from that i had to go into school again today as dd had 2 nightmars again last night i don't nkow if they are to do with what happened at school or her feckless father so i told her teacher in case dd got tired. all i got back was 'waht again? what over this time?' wtf? i didn't want sympathy, all i was asking for was a bit of understanding for dd in case she was tired in class and fell asleep, every night she's had bloody nightmares this week

hatesponge · 07/05/2010 13:59

ninah - no he believes in it all he's in the building trade & obsessed with 'foreigners' coming to take away his work.

never mind of course that me and our DC are 'foreign', thats the sort of man he is.

mrsmh - agreed re wedding man, am still slightly annoyed & think I might send him a to the point email to draw a line under it. Am not expecting to hear back from him but just want to make my views clear.....

sincitylover · 07/05/2010 14:41

still lib dem here but live in an area which can have leanings to bnp but hopefully they got few votes.

Sponge sorry to hear about your exh! It's like people who emigrate to Spain to escape immigration here.

And sorry about wedding planner. And yes I always like to have my say or even the last word with men. Whereas they often just like to disappear without words

Have lapsed a bit with SOH - I was doing so well. Again I think it's because I want to have a neat and tidy conclusion.

kdk · 07/05/2010 16:36

Hi all - yes date today - and what with late night election-watching and bleeding Tory getting in here I am not really in the mood. Also at a loss as to what to wear - looks like it's going to piss down, not sure what we're going to do - although we might go to a friend of mine's 50th which is being held in a pub ... what do you think - jeans, nice top, heels? Feeling too fat and not sure if a dress would be ott ...

btw used to fancy friend whose 50th it is - well in mild sort of friendly flirting way that never went anywhere ... and maybe not a very date-type thing to do?

lou33 · 07/05/2010 16:38

jeans, way too cold for the whole dress kerfuffle

whatever you do have a good time, we collectively order you to

kdk · 07/05/2010 16:43

could do knitted dress/tights but doesn't really say night out to me - not like slim bootlegs and a top. Anyone else got any suggestions - and I need to dye my hair in the next hour! Why do I always leave everything to the last minute?

ninah · 07/05/2010 16:50

kdk jeans and nice top sounds fine, esp if it's pissing it down
and go to party, nothing like a bit of flirting I always flirt more when with someone new - with everyone, waiters, old ladies, anyone
best news today is that ds's teacher is Labour
that makes 3 I know in the area including myself
sadly she is mat cover only ...
anyone else had a letter from council to confirm they are still eligible for single occupancy council tax discount? i am hoping it's an automatically generated thing not that my neighbours have seen poor nm/ex doing all my jobs and reported me for habouring a stray man
just don't recall ever getting one before

lou33 · 07/05/2010 16:52

still jeans and a top

iirc, the first date had with mechanic , i wore a pair of wet look leggings , a crocheted v neck black mini dress and a pair of knee high suede 3 1/2 inch heel (so not that high) boots

nothing spectacular or particularly dressy, but it did the trick

now every time i wear the dress he says "cor thats what you had on the first night we met" and grabs my bum

ninah · 07/05/2010 16:53

kdk when I am feeling fat i wear an old dressing gown over everything but i guess you are still in the getting to know you stage
and unless you have changed drastically since I looked at your profile your 'fat' is as imaginary as belle's

kdk · 07/05/2010 16:59

oh bless ninah, think it's more fatigue and approaching time of the month bloat ... but I'm still 10lb over what I used to be before I packed in the fags ... okay jeans it will be, better go and look at tops ...

ninah · 07/05/2010 17:03

do you know i am always far more tense on a second date
last one I had I could barely speak
knock em dead kdk, hope you have a good evening

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 07/05/2010 17:21

have fun kdk. jeans sounds great idea

Monty100 · 07/05/2010 18:05

Kdk - have a lovely time. And you are far from FAT!!!! Jeeze. Jeans sounds good, add a few nice accessories and bob's your uncle .

Ninah - I'm an ardent dressing gown wearer too .

Any more dates this weekend?

Well, I've been looking at the election result map, and no matter how we want to dress it, that map is very very blue.

Juice - you had an invitation to Hannover yet??

SCL - I think the BNP have had the smile wiped off their stupid smug faces.

I'm going for a nap as I'm knackered, stayed up til midnight and was awake again at 6am listening to the radio.

OP posts:
Betty79 · 07/05/2010 18:15

well i'm pretty about the election results, and was pretty shocked today when I asked at work (to about 10 of my collegues) that no one else voted! One of my other single collegues did tho. Still Labour locally here, it mainly is in the north west still. Only bit of hope we might have is cons teaming up with libs, but still not looking forward to living under a conservative leader!

As for dating, boilerman is coming over sunday prob could have asked him for tonight but couldnt really be bothered straight after work lol

ninah-im sometimes more tense on second date, as there is kinda more expectation.

kdk-have fun tonight, i would go with jeans and nice top/heels!

hi everyone else, anyone else got anything exciting planned for weekend?
