rofl @ mucho domestico monty
still it's almost curry o'clock not long to go now!!

Remotew · 28/05/2010 13:30

Just a quick hi and hope everyone has a good weekend.

PMG so sorry you are going through this, agree with the others your low life ex is just trying to wind you up. Hope all the advise you are getting from the experts puts your mind at rest.

I'm not doing much this weekend. Cleaning windows and weeding the garden that sort of thing. Was meant to be going out tonight but I've postponed it and changed it to a girly night in on the wine. Still off the fags so don't want to go out just yet. GRRR! Bloody nicotine addiction!! Juice did you manage to quit?

Cannot believe my baby has officially finished compulsory education today. She has to go back for exams and is going into 6th form but still .

lou33 · 28/05/2010 13:33

Bloody hell pmg you poor thing. Exh tried to get me to move out and him move in with the kids when we first split but he never went that far! What a cock he is.

Still no contact from my ex to the kids, which makes it two weeks since he said he would call them.

I just put a lamb curry in the slow cooker for later, are we all having curry?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/05/2010 13:49

god you're a brave woman packing in the fags so wish that i'd never started again but that's divorce for you
has dd got any end of year stuff planned?
i remember that you'd bought her a lovely dress for her prom..how did it go?
lou as ever it's the kids who are let down but at least they have a better man in their lives now

lou33 · 28/05/2010 13:58

mine is a sri lankan curry, smells bloody lovely already

yes asbm you are right, they have someone 100 times better for them now, but it still grates, you know?

dd2 was telling me i should marry dp the other day, but if i didnt want to do that i should change my name to his surname, and maybe they would all do it too, lol

kdk · 28/05/2010 14:12

Hi all

God, some of us are having a bit of a shit time at the moment! Makes dating worries seem very unimportant to be honest.

PMG, let me know if there's anything I can do - don't think I'm that far away if you need handholding/stones being dropped from great height on ex etc.

Lou, hope you're feeling better - we obviously got our cervixes (cervices??) from the same crap cervix shop as mine is at an odd angle and tricky to find as well.

Off to family picnic at my dt's school - luckily is mostly mums so won't be feeling too much on my tod hopefully.

And have had message back from Glint - he sounds nice but will update later as in a bit of a rush as usual.

Wish everyone a good afternoon - make the most of the sunshine, bank holiday is supposed to be crap weather as usual!

Remotew · 28/05/2010 14:48

Might have some sort of curry tonight, but it won't be home made, cannot be bothered after work, unless I get one of those jars and some meat.

sincitylover · 28/05/2010 15:16

We had curry last night for a treat - it was yum - I had chicken xacuti and the boys had dahl, rice and sag bhaji.

I could eat it all over again tonight. No plans for tonight's food yet and I won't be back till 7.

lou33 · 28/05/2010 15:56

I am deliberating making a rhubarb crumble for pudding. Yes or no?

elastamum · 28/05/2010 15:59

Hi All,

Have been reading this thread from afar, trying to catch up. Am overseas atm working again, back at the end of the week, kids are off at Dads.

Did have date with travelling man and managed to avoid hillwalking as it was pissing down with rain. As usual it was great fun and we spent a good few hours in the pub. But not quite what I expected as he spend a lot of time talking about ex partner!! Seems to be some unfinished business there, so not really expecting or wishing it to go much further.

Shame really as we are very similar in outlook and really get on, BUT it is all way too complicated for me. He gave me a goodnight kiss and said he would come down to mine next time. Not convinced there will be a next time at this stage, although would like to have him as a friend.

Have come across quite a few blokes recently who havent really resolved their past relationships, is it just me or is this really common??

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/05/2010 16:06

elastamum sadly it is..shame really as you both got on,i think that alot of men and women don't actually realise that they're doing it tbh....hence why we all vent on MN
lou it's a yes from me!i love rhubarb crumble and rhubarb crumble ice cream is delish too
rofl @ us and our culinary delights eh?!

Remotew · 28/05/2010 16:11

If they talk about exes more than you are comfortable with and have a pained look on their face or worse anger in their eyes then I would forget it tbh.

Shame it doesn't look promising, I'm not sure friends is possible with someone you start out to date, actually I am being cynical and don't think friends is really possible with a man anyway! Ignore me I'm having a hard time.

Lou make it, sounds nice.

ASBM forgot to say we haven't got the leavers ball dress yet, first one didn't work out, just ordered another one so fingers crossed.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/05/2010 16:19

hope you were able to get a refund eve

elastamum · 28/05/2010 16:19

Thanks, I do wonder if it is me sometimes. i am a trained professional coach so a pretty perceptive listener and often get told stuff that I could happily live without knowing!!

I do see what you mean about the friend thing. If you meet someone as a potential date it is pretty hard to re negotiate that relationship if you dont know them or see them a lot in another context.

lou33 · 28/05/2010 17:01

i will make it then

bit of an odd pud for a curry but who cares

ninah · 28/05/2010 17:02

pmg glad you have some advice. How are you?
well Friday is curry night here too, Mrs Patak is cooking for me tho. Half term, yay!
elastamum it's common friend might not be possible. Friend with benefits? as long as the benefits are yours ...
asbm your post about legal aid did make me smile as I have a serial killer name

Betty79 · 28/05/2010 17:13

curry night here too lol, mines out of a jar tho might be lloy grossman for me

elasta-sorry to hear things didnt go to plan with date, have you got an others lined up?

eve-I agree with you, I dont have many male friends the only ones I do have are old childhood ones that I see maybe once every few years, and the others are my mates husbands or partners lol

my plans for a nice day with boilerman tommorow an bbq have gone awol, my mum isnt well an it's contagious so she cant have dc's, she did say she would still have them bless her but I said better not. So not sure whether I will go on my own and take dc's with me or see boilerman here. He's coming over tonight anyway an is not working away now next week

Hi everyone else wont list you all in case I forget someone!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/05/2010 17:21

pmsl @ ninah
where's monty with the booze bargains low down anyhow?
she's usually stocked up at sainsbos by now!!

ninah · 28/05/2010 18:10

sorry to hear that betty
my best male friend is gay; I did once try to broaden his gender preferences, as we get on v well on every other level, but nothing doing
we have stayed good friends tho!
I dunno if wolf blass is still half price as asda, i really hope not, actually

aseriouslyblondemoment · 28/05/2010 19:47

betty that's a pain as i know that you've been looking forward to it..but it's best for your mum and the dcs...hope she's on the mend soon
so you're cooking up a curry for him tonight then?
well i'm not long back from sainsbos and omg you've never seen anything like it..so many confused faces as they've chosen this w/e to re-arrange the wine aisle....anyhow off to unpack the car...but yes have one poured...have my priorities as ever!

Monty100 · 28/05/2010 20:17

Evening All

Awaiting my take away curry here, haven't been to Sainsbo's as I'm well stocked lol, only having a couple of beers tonight as I have the mucho domestico tomorrow.

ASBM - did you get a good deal on the vino? The last time I was stocking up at Sainsbo's I was about half an hour in the wine aisle trying to do the maths on which offer was most economical. They don't have make it hard. You need to hit the balance between quantity and quality . (Have I got something of a reputation in this thread, don't know how I've earned that lol. Must have been cracking stupid jokes on a Friday night or something).

Betty - shame about bbq. I'll pmsl if Boilerman asks if he can come with you and dc's lol. What would you say?

Ninah - step away from the Wolf Blass .

Lou - you sound better, how was your rhubarb crumble ?

Eve - I'm impressed, need to follow suit one of these days.

Juice - are you still not smoking?

SCL - two days off yay!

Elasta - that's a shame, but a bad bad sign eh? Anyone else in the pipeline? You at home for a few days now?

Hi Belle, Pirate, PMG and everyone.

Sorry this is so long, a bit de-mob happy here lol.

Monty100 · 28/05/2010 20:35

ASBM - I think I got 3 chards for a tenner the last time I was there . But that offer might have gone now. It seriously did take me yonks to find a good offer though. Waiting for dp here too .
