Quick question for the more experienced daters here.

Have had an offer to go out drinking with the chap that I really like, we have been swapping messages for a while now about how hard we both work and we need to get out more. Now I might be missing something but in my experience from many many years back an offer to get drunk together is usually an invitation for a shag?

what does the panel think?

Monty100 · 14/05/2010 10:23

Elasta - could be could be. Lol, if you fancy him go for it. Sounds fun.

Belle - well done on weight.

Juice - have a good date . Pumps I reckon on feet.

Sponge - hope he does one this weekend.

Eve - would really love to meet up, I will say its cr*p trying to get across London on a Sunday... they 'fix' the lines at weekends. I'll look into it.

PMG - how are you??

Hi everyone else

OP posts:
passmyglassplease · 14/05/2010 10:31

hiya monty, I'm doing ok, I got a short txt from marathon man yesterday afternoon telling me he would drop my bike off on Sunday eve.

nothing else, no greetings or salutations etc, on advice from friends i replied in the same manner.

unless he makes a bit more of an effort I am well rid

onwards and upwards, with a few tears in between

good luck to all who have dates this weekend, especially the castle experience!

Monty100 · 14/05/2010 10:36

PMG - wow, must be tough, are you 'going to be in'? What's happening about the meet up bearing wine and TLC??

OP posts:
passmyglassplease · 14/05/2010 10:49

yes I will be in but I will not be expecting him to knock.

it is going to a bit of a nail bitting day on sunday, cos if he doesn't bother to attempt to meet up I will be gutted

I am still hoping that he has come to his senses over the past week

watch this space on sunday eve!

I am available next week on Friday or the Friday after, is this any good for you?

lou33 · 14/05/2010 11:05

elasta, it may be he is hoping for that , but it doesnt mean that is what it has to be

let it go the way you want it to, and make sure its fun regardless

Monty100 · 14/05/2010 11:43

PMG - I hope Sunday eve works out for the best. I should be available for either Friday I think, have you thought of a venue?? Bearing in mind the second one will be half term, in my hopes and dreams I'll be whisked away for a few days....... but I did say 'dreams.'

KDK/SCL/Sponge/Pink, anyone else, are you available either of those Fridays?

OP posts:
elastamum · 14/05/2010 12:05

thanks Monty and Lou, I think I will just go with the flow and see where it takes me

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 14/05/2010 12:35

elasta - a drink just means a drink in my book (unless there is an irish man involved).. so go for that drink and have some time off as your emailing has been saying? that is unless your emails have been discussing having a night out with rampant sexual activities to follow

castle terrain... i'm thinking a really chunky low heel and taking his arm. or possibly flat .. see how i feel when i have rest of my clothes on :-)

i'm far too excited.. which always means he is going to be a right fugly munter looking nothing like his picture who has a hunchback and only 3 teeth!!

at least the castle will be nice to look at

pmg - good luck for sunday.are you on the SOH bandwagon?

monty - where you going on term in your dreams?

hatesponge · 14/05/2010 13:27

juice - enjoy your date go with a low heel I think...

I can do either Friday at the moment (as I have no social life) I expect wedding man will pop up again next week asking for a date, but given he will almost certainly cancel (AGAIN!) before it happens, am not planning anything round him....

lou33 · 14/05/2010 14:01

i wouldnt bother letting him have another chance tbh, if he keeps cancelling then he is clearly unreliable and potentially a bit of a nobber

mrsmharket · 14/05/2010 14:01

lou- good for you, with reference to the loan you didn't ask for, could it therefore be considered a 'gift'? one that shouldn't be paid back??[norty]

sponge - am glad things sorted with the bank now

SingleMum01 · 14/05/2010 14:25

Hi all,

elasta - go for it

Lou - dp

sponge - hope he leaves this w/e

juice - how was the castle?

pmg - good luck for Sun

Hi everyone else. I've just been shopping 'cos I can't fit in my holiday clothes - they're all too big!!! Good times. Bad times, having to buy all new!

Also, why do I get a huge zit when I've got a date. Doc has given me some hydrocortisone cream which is drying it up but can't see how I can put any concealer on it Anyone used hydrocortison on a spot??

kdk · 14/05/2010 14:26

Hi all - hope everyone's well.

Re next week - sadly can't do Friday as already have (family) engagement - but week after is okay (28th). If next week is better for everyone, go ahead and I"ll try and make the next!

mrsmharket · 14/05/2010 14:35
elastamum · 14/05/2010 14:51

Hi Juice,

It wasnt so much a drink as we need to get drunk together and put the world to rights!!!! We managed nearly 5 hours conversation on only one drink (driving) on our first date, before we got thrown out of the pub when it closed, so I expect that amusing each other wont be too much of a problem

mrsmharket · 14/05/2010 15:14

ooh er

lou33 · 14/05/2010 16:22

juice, i meant to ask you, has your ex got back from thailand yet?

i just had to email my ex, as the kids are getting panicky that he has been caught up in the bangkok rioting, the tosser hasnt even bothered to let them know he got there ok

told him he should let them know he is ok

sincitylover · 14/05/2010 16:23

not sure if I can due to bbysitting/football training but will try my best

I have also been invited through work quite a swanky drinks and dinner - to do with a high profile sport (cricket) and will have pros attending. One that my son is mad on but I am not so keen but will go so I can tell them all about it eye up the talent

Will be going alone although I will know the business devt manager for the company who invited me. have been to other hospitality and its always

Just angsting over what to wear it will have to be a dress with heels , will have to have short/cap sleeves (to cover tatts) v neck for my boobs and prob just above knee. hoping to grab a last minute bargain on the day before. My existing dresses are looking a bit tired so think I will need to treat myself.

sincitylover · 14/05/2010 16:25

strikeout never works for me doh

Remotew · 14/05/2010 18:19

SCL you have to put the hyphens around all the words to strike out a sentence.

Waving to everyone. Hope you get your night sorted. I am only down there on Sat/Mon.
