Monty100 · 09/05/2010 19:06

thesouthsbelle · 09/05/2010 19:08

hi all, I tell ya look one day off line and it goes manic here! lol.

luna - hiya & welcome to the gang.

monty- with dp for the mo- is there ishhoos?

kdk - agree go for a date and see- I personally don't believe in going back - forwards is the only way - was seeing a DJ for a bit last year just before gymboy, we dated for a while at 16, known him most of my life type of a deal and well - it wasn't good at all in a lot of ways (retrospect there) but go n see.

sponge - you called those people your friends!!!! agree whole hearted with elastmum - you don't need to blow smoke up some blokes arse. and well to be quite frank if they're that pathetic that they think you're not goo enough in the 'professional' circle then well - tbh they're nobbers, who really don't see you for the lovely lady you are - so they don't deserve you.

sm - yeah agree with juicy - & i'm sure betty will say the same as well. it' v intense but also good as well. with XH we were living, working & seeing each other within 2 weeks. I think with soldier we currently have 2 emails going on FB, along with texts (prob about 30 today alone on top of the emails) and he'll ring again tonight as well prob for a couple of hours again. I don't mind per se as from tomorrow i'll be lucky to have one email a day while he plays war games - it's the whole make the most of it while you're with em sort of thing cram it all in cos when away you don't tend to hear much - XH would ring once a day if he could - would be around 6 once D came along but prior to that I could text him in the am, or he'd text me and I'd not here from him until a good few hours later. roll with it, and when you know they're away again roll with it.

anyhow... hope all is well with everyone.

thesouthsbelle · 09/05/2010 19:10

ooh betty - when's he bringing it over?! have fun with him later thou - i'm sure you will do

Betty79 · 09/05/2010 19:13

monty-yes he's coming here, has just said I cant have it till my birthday tho lol its only a week away! so u will have to wait to find out! I have a feeling it might be somthing silly that we've been joking about

hi belle-soldier sounds keen anyway, I know like u say they are quite full on early on but I also think they dont waste their time with people they arent interested in, like u say 'lifes to short' attitude which can be a good and bad thing!

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 09/05/2010 19:15

ooooooooooooooooooooh betty is getting a suprise

lets speculate while she's on her date..

i think its a mini statue of eiffel tower!!

right.. what do you lot think?

Betty79 · 09/05/2010 19:16

ha ha juice I'm not on my date yet, am waiting for kids to go to bed first

thesouthsbelle · 09/05/2010 19:28

true enough betty. keen he is - and has just admitted that he cried during marley n me (the pansy! lol)

just trying to work out this skype thing for when he goes to the USA so we can stop in touch- how exactly does it work - are you meant to pay for it? and why can't I upload the contacts from my hotmail & facebook (can only do the gmail ones which I never use)

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 09/05/2010 19:30

belle you need to add him through skype. not fb. and its free

hatesponge · 09/05/2010 19:32

betty - have fun tonight, hope you like the present he's bought you you'll have to let us know what it is!

kdk - I think you should see this guy again, could be it was the wrong time last time. Equally it may still not be right, but you've nothing to lose meeting him!

As to the whole professional men not liking me thing - when I was young it used to upset me, but I've come to realise over the last 20 years thats just how it is, and it doesn't bother me. The downside is it narrows the choice of available men (of whom we know there are precious few decent ones anyway) even further! All the horrendous experiences I went through with the Ex have made me acutely aware that its far better to be on my own than with the wrong man, so I'm never going to 'settle' again - however that doesnt shake the feeling that I'm looking for a needle in a haystack most of the time

SingleMum01 · 09/05/2010 19:58

Betty - have a good date, a present - ooooh lucky you

Betty/Juicy/Belle - thanks for your forces insight - its all new to me and completely different. We're going out Sat night when he's back here.

sincitylover · 09/05/2010 20:08

interesting about the prof men thing. I work with loads of lawyer types and tbh they don't interest me one bit.

Don't think I am of the right stock/demeanour eg on Thurs I told an appeal court judge after a meeting we had both been in that I had left my eight year old in a cupboard as his school was closed for election day - it was a joke but maybe not appropriate. God actually feel a bit writing that.

Usually I am alot more attracted to more earthy types, who like a bit of banter and fun.

Samename was a manager but way too earnest about his career (which seemed to be nosediving, catering managers seem to like me (cos I look like I like food lol), drivers, electricians that type.I aim for midway between neanderthal and metrosexual.

My one blip married to an academic but wouldn't ever go there again, for some of the male ones it is all about ego I have found - I think we only got together because we had similar working class backgrounds.

Betty have a lovely time.

Waves to everyone else.

Remotew · 09/05/2010 20:41

Betty, sounds exciting getting a present from and new man.

KDK go out with him but I agree with some of the others. Saying that I've recently been out with people I've seen years ago and whilst it wasn't love I had a nice time.

I haven't been out with many professional men. I wouldn't be there cup of tea at all. If I ever got into a LTR I would like it to be with someone who had a reasonably well paid job or even a pension nowadays. But falling for someone is a strange thing, you cannot predict who or what job they have etc. Sponge, agree your friends were being unpleasant.

kdk · 10/05/2010 08:16

Morning all

Have decided just to see how it goes with Arty - we see each other from time to time as friends so will just arrange a meet and see what happens if anything.

And just thought I'd share my latest weirdo (don't want to selfishly hog them all to myself!). Thank f*ck, the guy's in the US or I would be worried ...

"you looking good, can i know you? i just need somebody to love and care for, i lost my family on an accident, i have just be lonely all my life, i really need a woman into my life, hope to hear from you soon ok "

The man looks seriously deranged ...

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 10/05/2010 08:20

lou - did you get skype working?

eve - you still sound a little about your feeling you had for athletic.

sm - sat.. what you going to do for your date?

i dont have any problem attracting professional types. and as you know i'm farm raised!! problem is I am not interested in them.i always fins huge gaping differences in humour and outlook on life. the only exception is irish. he's only male private school education person i know with common sense

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 10/05/2010 08:21

kdk - thats a bit unhinged isn't it. lol

lou33 · 10/05/2010 09:38

Juice not sure what you mean?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 10/05/2010 10:09

lou - i meant belle . i am still waking up

Remotew · 10/05/2010 10:31

Wakey, wakey Juice.

I had a pj day yesterday, I'm always threatening to have one but never do. DD off school today but should be mostly recovered for tomorrow, thanks for asking yesterday.

Juice I kind of miss him in a warped way.

aSilverLining · 10/05/2010 10:46

Hi everyone I am bloody freezing - sat with boots and cardi on hugging my mug of tea. Should the weather be warming up a little by now???

One of my pof guys, we now have each other's mobile numbers and have said we will meet up. I am scared.
A) that it will be disastrous and
B) that I will actually like him and it will be disastrous.
So I need advice and suggestions on a first meet for as I am shy, and I think he is too.

Oh and my friend who was a friend with benefits but no longer is, well, it's him I want really but I can't have him.

Have also been chatting too on FB to an old childhood friend who even as a small child made ladies melt. He is gorgeous and way out of my league but chatting about old times is cheering me up slightly.

lou33 · 10/05/2010 11:35

morning

ds2 and dd2 are both ill with a temp and sore throat still, and my back is playing up too, bad timing as usual

juice...WAKEY WAKEY!!!!

when i was going on dates (as opposed to passing out by 10 like i do now, funny how things can change so quickly), i was always of the opinion that i had nothing to prove , and it was down to the men in question to show they were worth me using up valuable time on

aside from that i figured the worst that could happen was i spent a couple of hours out of the house, and didnt have to see them again

hatesponge · 10/05/2010 11:36

am literally shaking with anger.

took day off as up all last night with poorly tummy (will spare you the graphic details, suffice to say not v pleasant).

Post has just arrived, copy joint account statements from Jan 09 to now. Ex has run up over £30ks worth of debt in a year. This includes the £5k holiday he took last year with the boys (this I did know about), and £10k he seems to have taken out in cash

I knew the amount by which the account is now o/d, but I thought that most of it had built up over years (I never used to check it when we were together, stupid I know) not 12 months.

When I moved out he was paying himself over £2k a month out of his business. According to the statements he's only put in £500 a month most months.

What a total fucking tosser.

mrsmharket · 10/05/2010 11:37

morngin everyone, i will be so glad when i can get my own pc tho i shall proavly be mumsnetting studying most of time

kdk - you do not look fat and you certainly do not need botox!! the boots were nice, have you had chance to wear them yet? sorry it takes me so long to catch up after teh weekend, i have had to start using a4 paper to write comments for everyone otherwise i keep losing my place and those last two profiles o.m.g.

lou - your first date dress but the feet thing? ewww

juice - have you had that invite to hanover yet?!mr orwell isn't a 1984 type hopefully?
has forces managed to get flight yet?

betty - it does sound like you got the better side of thebet was that with boilerman? sorry loads to cacth up on and can't remember who it was!

saliz - hi

eve - i agree with silver about your x and his friends. was that athletic? am you feeling (((((eve))))
congrats to your dd tho, well done you! i hope she feeling better now?

elasta - hi stranger gsm? is that the guardian site? 3 dates - yay!!! am also refusing to blow sunshine anywhere after spending 4years on-off with dd's dad, not anymore thank you very much.

sm - raf guy am very sorry to offer the bad side of thigns, when i was younger i went out with someone i realy liked and asked him ifhe was seeing anyone else, his reply was that he never had teh time. i found out several months later that it was a bet to how many he could go out with - 9. so please be careful otoh - what's he look like????

monty - i love the top. if you with dp at mo i hope thigns work out ok ((((())))

belle - maybe the ladyinstructor wanted marine?!! as for dd's teacher, i don;t hink she is completely either, so after i'd seen her i went straight to headmaster's office to tell him as well so now he knows. dd pointed him out to me this morning, he looks solidly built for 5 year old but at least i know what he looks like. tho am bit concerned cos if dd snaps, she's got a bit of a right hook on her . tho in her defence, it was an accident

silver - lol at weirdos. anyone else remember that i live next door to one?
x tried to swap dates for party once and i flatly refused, what kind of message woud that send to dd if i'd let him? i put dd first why shoudln't he or am i just being bitch?

sponge - how mean of your 'friends' to say thigns like that. fwiw i have same background and i have attracted those kind of men int he past but i can now smell a certain gold band a mile off

finally caught up apologies for longpost and hi to everyoen i missed out

i have problems with rapeseed too, it ooks really pretty from a distance and with car windows firmly closed it looks even better i get really bad first date nerves and they're (the men) usually the ones i get on better with, well at first anyway. am more relaxed by the second date - the worst thign is over and doen with then!
a man must be taller than me wehn i wear my boots (tho they are tucked out of sight now , i like wearing heels and feel uncomfortable if i wear heels and am taller than the guy. no more dates here tho have message waiting on zoosk apparently, am bit reluctant to read it after the last zoosker

mrsmharket · 10/05/2010 11:39

i didn't realise post was so long

lou33 · 10/05/2010 11:46
