hi all! just checking in. Feel a bit deflated after all that being let down by (supposed) new man stuff. Never heard formhi again. It was so very nice to have the possibility of someone in my life again. never realsied how lonely I'd become iyswim.

Seem to alternate from shoulder shrug, to ok, to angry, to wanna have a big cry.

hey ho.

Monty100 · 07/04/2010 22:07

Pirate - . Don't give up. Don't brood on that sh*t either. Well, you're allowed one big cry and then we can all give you virtual hugs. Now get back out there again.

Sponge - Are you procrastinating?

Betty79 · 07/04/2010 22:36

pirate-I agree with Monty it is hard at first esp the first person u meet but only way I've found to get over it easily is to get back on the dating sites and start chatting to other people. takes your mind off things if nothing else!

sponge-come on girl dont keep him waiting too long....actually take that back make him wait lol

Monty-is bf still in the doghouse?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 07/04/2010 22:46

pirate

exactly as betty says... best thing for it is to keep you mind busy so you dont moon over him. either by getting on the site again.... or.. i actually find my ou course is a fab way to keep the mind busy.

going to bed.

tired. been looking for an outfit for club noir for DAYS now.

help me ladies.

burlesque style sailor costume. i need a neckerchief.. and all the ones with fancy dress kits are positively hideously tacky.. where can i get one .. just a single nevkerchief thats either black with white piping.. or blue with white piping.. seems to just be bulk order. i cant order my corset till i get this... as i will get a blue or black corset depending on the colour of neckerchief.

Monty100 · 07/04/2010 23:03

Betty - he sure is. I can hardly contain my composure, he picked me up from station tonight, and came in for a minute, I couldn't look at him or speak to him. I managed a couple of mutters. He knew as well and left rather swiftly. Not sure where it's going iyswim.

Juice - mmmmmmm burlesque style sailor costume, will google and see if I've got any ideas on neckerchief. When is the club noir do?

Monty100 · 07/04/2010 23:16

Juice - I've had a quick look, not much is there? What about getting the corset and then making the neckerchief?

SingleMum01 · 08/04/2010 07:21

Morning all, Monty, Juice and Lou - hooray - thanks for adding me! Your pics are all lovely

Remotew · 08/04/2010 09:29

SM01, will sneak into facebook at some point today as at work, will find you and send a request.

Have you sent to email Sponge?

Juice, I bought DD a fancy dress oufit off the net. It was fine, not that she has worn it yet as bowed out of the last party. Told her she has to have fancy dress for her birthday do.

Remotew · 08/04/2010 09:30

Forgot to ask, Pirate did you get to arrange a meetup with Cake?

piratecat · 08/04/2010 09:53

hello, thanks monty, betty and juice for the replies.

me and dd are going to meet cake later today!!!

I am still on the dating sites, but it's more like trying to fill the gap iyswim. So, until i feel a better about him, well that's when i will be more upbeat being on them. Yet I wouldn't not go on them, as they can be so erm 'interesting!!'

xx

lou33 · 08/04/2010 10:05

morning all

can i just burst your bubbles and tell you to hold back on any wedding dress for me, we are happy as we are thank you

on a boring "how homely have i become" note, i made my own cornish pasties last night and they were lovely

i am going to make my own scotch eggs in the week too

juice, i wouldnt bother looking for a neckerchief, i would just buy some extra wide ribbon in the colour of choice and use that, either choker style or in a bow

smo1, you do not have enough pics, but your ds is gorgeous

Betty79 · 08/04/2010 11:02

lou-look at u making home made cornish pasties so did u find out where the ring came from in the end?

SM01-I will see if i can find you and add you

Hi everyone else, it's dd2's 5th birthday today so have got a busy day, she opened her pressies about 6 o'clock, were off swimming in a bit then party at 4! so busy day today.

lou33 · 08/04/2010 11:10

i know, check me and my homemaking self out eh?

i just wish i was blessed with a tidy gene

never found out about the ring, got bored of it all and forgot tbh

not even sure where it is now!

ds2 said he wanted it to give to his gf (aged 9)

Betty79 · 08/04/2010 11:14

Same here re the tidy gene, i wasnt blessed either lol

SingleMum01 · 08/04/2010 11:17

Lou - thanks, he gets his looks from me, lol! I only gave in and added myself to fb a few months ago.
Eve - my profile pic is my eye!
Betty - think I've added you. Happy birthday to your DD2.

I'm getting a bit confused now (not hard I know) as you've all different names to on here!

Just having a lazy day in the gorgeous sunshine today. Gullivers Kingdom tomorrow with friends and going for a meal and drinks Sat with older bloke who has now met my mum and is still coming back for more

And I've got a stinking cold

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 08/04/2010 12:01

morning all.

noir is may.

decided i will go black and white. got a sailors cap which fits really well and it's black white with gold anchor desgin. decided for the black white striped coprset(vertical stripes).. and going to get a white netball skirt thats pleated and get an alteration lace round from me to take up hem to flash stockings and embroider a gold/black anchor on it. (wel.. it is noir.. you must flash the stockings

seen some stocking in shop yesterday that already had little anchor charms on them... but they we almost 20 quid. think i could buy a pair of normal plain ones.. and get some little anchor charms for a couple of quid and do them myself for about £7 all in.

think your right lou... just do some sort of black.white ribbon round neck and get one of those woggle things scouts have to hold it together.

just need some appropriate filthy matching sailor style shoes now to hunt down.

sm - oooh met your mum.

lou - i was looking forward to my squirrel adorned fascinator.

i also lack the tidy gene. i notice my dc dont have it either. no matter how hard exp tried to enforce it upon them.. they are good at rebelling against it

SingleMum01 · 08/04/2010 12:23

Juice - what about adding velcro to the ribbon to hold it together? I've made a choker like that before.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 08/04/2010 12:38

think it would look more sailor like with a woggley thing... maybe comic will loan me one .... might have sucked his thumb wearing it though... bluuuuergh

SingleMum01 · 08/04/2010 13:03

have you tried ebay?

lou33 · 08/04/2010 13:23

juice, fifties style wedge slingback heels sound good with the outfit you mention, or non wedge, but def fifties slingback

maybe you could use the fascinator in a nautical style?

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 08/04/2010 14:09

corset

skirt but ordered white with black inner

or this but change button to big gold one

hat

right ladies

above are links to what i've got and ordered. all sorted. ticket bought. just gotta hope it all goes together nicely.

also won a pack of gold anchor charms from ebay for 99p for 20 just now. will attach them to stockings.

will return whichever skirt doesn't look right. both i ordered in the white. will get the embroidery place round corner to put a big gold anchor on the flat part of the skirt pleats... what do you think? sailor with style.. without looking like a tacky babestation style chick?? skirts are 14 inch and 16 inch. they should be reasonable length actually. think i might just keep them long.that length is from the waist..by time gets over my asse i'll probably be flashing the stockings as it is. will wear some uber thick high gloss tights under with some big burlesque frilly full bloomers to cover my modesty

whic of you girls is it would like to go to this?? was it just lou and scl - i'm sure theere was more than that. shame you cant get something organised and we could all meet burlesque style. rofl

lou - yeah.. slingbacks..

lou33 · 08/04/2010 14:42

i prefer skirt one

14 inches is short, i have a load at that length, its a definite opaque tights job for public appearances

love the corset

and it was me who wanted to go, though i have a pretty good feeling that bf would prefer i left that kind of get up for the bedroom now lol

i reckon he would be tailing me in secret making sure no dickheads crossed a line with me

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 08/04/2010 15:54

lou - why dont you go with your bf?? there's alot of people there are couples. they get all dressed up as a matching set

14 inches is short. add my large asse and 36 inch legs and it looks even more miniscule. one of my close friends is barely 5ft. on her a skirt will look very decent. when i wear same skirt i look indecent.. there's something about when you have longer legs..

a short person whose asse is only covered by 2 inches will be half way down their thigh.. on me a couple of inches and if you catch me at the wrong angle you can see what i had for breakfast in the morning.

i specifically order my corsets from that company too as they are an amazing bargain price and great quality... and.. they make them a good 4-5 inches longer than your standard. means they go from armpit to longer than hips on me.

lou33 · 08/04/2010 16:18

i have lng legs for my height so i know what you mean

as for bf, i think he would rather stick pins in his eyes than do something like that

its not his sort of thing but he doesnt mind watching me dress up, of course

Remotew · 08/04/2010 16:24

Is this the in thing, nowadays? Not sure it would appeal to me but feel free to enlighten me on the buzz.

Also, can someone tell me if a guy says he likes 'outfits/lingerie' etc what exactly does that mean.
