hi all, well, we're back form the big smoke - lord knows how you girls do it that live up there - was glad to come home and see the sea. Still one museum semi done and down the boy's had a fab day so that's all that counts - such a big city thou & so much to teach & show the boy about our culture - good job he's only 4!

eve - did he show? gymboy used to show up about an hour late and say it was 'just him' (yeah ok then - disrespectful more like!) glad you're out dating thou.

lou - sounds nice and homely in your household

betty - date did I miss something? have a good indian thou.

Juicy - sorry to hear you're feeling crappy - good luck on your date as well - guess forces is a deffo no go now then? pretty poor show of him as well - tbh i'm starting to like him less - he's up but isn't coming over - did you ask him not to?

kdk - eww smoker - XH is a smoker - after 2.5 years and various dates wouldn't go there again at all with a smoker - no way. such a turn off. agree thou ref this chappy - run for the hills big time so many red flags there.

pirate - hey whatcha got to loose, email back and say thank how was your weekend and get chatting.

sponge - sorry to hear about ex, I find mostly these men are using it to intimidate women into doing what they want.

anyhow am cream crackered so had better get off to bed I guess. said i'd ring farmer tomorrow - it's been about a week or so I think since we actually spoke prob longer in fact. been tlaking for I dunno about a month or so and only 2 phone calls - mostly email/msn/text - not sure still on this one - lots of hand holding needed.

thesouthsbelle · 02/04/2010 20:39

sorry hi to everyone else. as well.

hatesponge · 02/04/2010 21:57

evening everyone, hope all having a good easter!

just wanted firstly to thank you all your your kind and wise words...the good news is that Ex wasn't here when I got back as he's taken his girlfriend away for the weekend..so it's all calm now for the time being anyway. The situation obviously has to be resolved, but the most sensible way round is for me to buy him out...but he won't be told anything, he always thinks he knows it all. He left his 'paperwork' folder here - shouldn't have looked it it, but glad i did simply to see the nonsense he's sent to the solicitor acting for him...lots of stuff like I'd broken into the house (not true), my continuing presence is upsetting his girlfriend , that I'm an absent parent, go out to the pub all the time with friends, make no financial provision for the children, etc, etc. all quite laughable really. but was pleased that his solicitor has in his response totally glossed over all the more emotive stuff he's said. And of course he's left out all the negative stuff about himself, of which there is plenty!

The irony is that I'm a lawyer - hence why i havent been to get legal advice cos most of the time I'm fairly confident I know what's what (although this is not my area of law) Ex has always thought he knew better than me though. Prat.

anyway, enough about me

juice - re food poisoning..hope you may have had news from forces by now. he should really be coming to see you now as you're free...but guess if he's thinking it cold be a difficult conversation that may be why he's putting it off, although that's no excuse....

eve - any news from athletic man yet?

Monty100 · 02/04/2010 22:05

Hi Sponge - I think exh is successfully winding you up. He does sound like a complete twunt. When does your working away finish? Do you have dcs at home, will ex stay at gf's?

Eve - did the athlete arrive?

Belle - bed at 8.30 on a Friday???? Oh well, preserves energy I guess. lol

Waves at everyone else.

hatesponge · 02/04/2010 22:11

Monty - I think you are right on both counts...I try not to let him & have been very to the point in my texts to him, for example one of them re the house said 'what do you need such a big house for anyway' - a while back I would have risen to that, or sent back some sarky reply - but I managed to hold my temper....its very difficult sometimes! have got another 2 weeks of being away, no idea what Ex will do when I'm back, girlfriebd doesnt seem to want him there with her full time which is no suprise given what he's like!....

Monty100 · 02/04/2010 22:25

Sponge - I'm sure you know how to handle him. Do you particularly want to stay in that house? You could just sell, pay him off settle financially and move on. I still live in what was the marital home and hate it, albeit its a nice house but I wish I wasn't here. I bought exh out but wish I'd cut and run.

hatesponge · 03/04/2010 00:22

Monty - house situation is a bit complicated, its basically a massive unfinished building project so at the moment is not worth much. If i sold it now I wouldn't come away with enough to afford a decent sized house locally. Thats assuming we could sell it now. Plus DS1's school - for all its faults - is 5 mins walk away, and DS2's 20 mins walk.

I do know what you mean though - all my friends love the house, but I got to a stage a year or so ago where all it did was remind me of Ex, and being unhappy. However now some more work has been finished (though still a LOT more to do) its now looking like the house I'd planned it to be, rather than the one I was unhappy in iyswim. I cant see this getting resolved any time soon though, unfortunately!

Monty100 · 03/04/2010 00:37

Sponge - mmm sounds like you're stuck til that's sorted. Call his bluff to buy you out then. That'd be quite handy would it not. I've just been on another thread about ex husbands in/and houses. Jeez. They don't get the hint do they?

My house is very changed since exh was here, but I still wish I'd started afresh. Friends love it too, but.... And also, it's a struggle keeping on top of it, its not massive or anything just high maintenance for some reason. I'll see if I can catch you on fb instead of nattering here. lol

lou33 · 03/04/2010 11:17

homely is good yes?

eve we didnt get a tent, atm we are both desperately skint trying to pay debts off etc (he got the tv which left him a bit short too, naughty boy)

we need at least a 6 person one, though we took a liking to an 8 person tent for about 300 quid

few months yet before that can be afforded

mrsmharket · 03/04/2010 11:41

i spend a couple days away from mumsnet and there's loads to catch up on

SingleMum01 · 03/04/2010 12:01

he's not bad looking, should I overlook the fact he's mad as a box of frogs?
oh, and good news ex has now def confirmed he will have dc for a few days to Ireland trip is hopefully back on! go mon/tues monty

kdk · 03/04/2010 14:27

Hi all

hope you're all having a good Easter weekend - am trying to hold off scoffing the kids' eggs - not that they don't deserve it (already getting on my wick and we're only one day into the holidays) but because I don't need to put any more weight on (one of the drawbacks of packing in smoking ...)

Have been exchanging messages with another bloke from dfp - seems nice (no 3 ex wives and six kids!) BUT he is only 5' 5" - now I'm 5'5.5" in flats which I rarely wear - bearing in mind my twunt of an ex was a short arse vertically-challenged and had the typical short man personality thing, is it worth meeting up with this guy or not?

Answers on a postcard ....

And Lou - have you checked ebay or gumtree for second-hand tents - might be worth it as you get people who buy them and then realise that camping isn't for them ...

lou33 · 03/04/2010 15:17

ive dated a couple or 3 guys who were my height, most of them didnt have short man syndrome

we are going to look on ebay closer to when we want the tent

the one i saw instore was listed on ebay by the company we visited at the same price

aseriouslyblondemoment · 03/04/2010 16:02

eve hope all goes well with the OP am liking your pos attitude atm
did the bit of stuff young guy turn up in the end?

juicy how's things?
was stunned to hear about forces tbh, really didn't see this one coming
ninah lollol @ thai farmer...jeeze does he really think you're going to believe that old line..
sponge do feel for you with the situ with ex,my exh didn't move out for ages and it was the final bit of EA that he inflicted upon me,and messed the dcs up horribly too.like the others have said it's all bull that he's spouting and he has zero chance of taking your boys from you.entirely your call with the house but ime it's best to stay put then if you want to look to sell when you feel up to it.i'm still in the marital home but mine's on the market and i'm desp.for a fresh start
pc hope you've found some closure since you sent the email
kdk you do seem to be picking them atm

Yes Athletic did turn up. We stayed here till DD got back then went to his. Found myself in twentysomthing hell. Some of his mates turned up. I wanted the floor to swallow me up. Never again!

Having a night in tonight. I need time to get over the shock! .

Monty100 · 03/04/2010 19:58

Hi everybody

SM - looking forward to update on date.

Lou - he's a real winner that Mechanic.

ASBM - Your absence was noted. I was getting worried about you. lol

Eve - that is sooo funny, well from this side anyway, don't envy you that one.

Ninah - so pleased trip is on.

Kdk - did you email him back?

Juice - if you're around hope you're ok. How did coffee date go?

Sponge - any progress?

Hi everyone else.

I surpassed myself today and got the paint brushes out, and I don't mean in front of an easel! . I've just sat down. Grrr. Was glossing bits that I didn't finish the last time I got the paint out which was last summer some time!

DP was skiving doing bits in the bathroom.

Am going to get the house valued when I have this final push. Should have started yesterday though but couldn't be arsed.

thesouthsbelle · 03/04/2010 20:25

hey all,

well. I am NOT impressed with the new dr who it has to be said.

monty - glad you've been busy painting.

sm - also awaiting an update

juicy - where are you?!?

eve - go you, & athletic lol.

lou - batman was the hottie wasn't he? and yes homely is good - v v good, we like homely.

blondie - glad all is well with you.

kdk - up to you chick, but I personally won't go for a bloke who's shorter than 5'8 (i'm only 5'2) but really prefer the 6ft mark. and the easter eggs - well you know ya wanna (says she who's had half of one of DS's already.)

monty - managed to wait up till 10, after seeing dr who was on the box - yay for david. how are you anyhow?

hate - what a load of tosh he's spoiling?!?! as prev mentioned will DC's be living with him and his GF then - and likewise what's it to do with his GF if she's not happy ffs it's your home is it not!?

hi to everyone else thou, still feelin really rough this side. farmer has been cheering me up thou which has been nice. ho hum... off to bed I think again after DS was up every 1.5 hours in the night.

sincitylover · 03/04/2010 20:34

God eve can imagine how you felt. LMAO

Monty very impressed re DIY

had a strange day today - waiting for news of DS1 who has gone a school trip - they have finally arrived thank god was getting quite worried.

Found my wedding ring - thought it was lost - was intending to pawn it but actually I really like the design of the ring but otoh it has no meaning to me anymore and have no daughters to give it to.

went to see alice in wonderland with ds2 - obviously that was v odd with combo of original story and Tim Burton - not sure if Johnny Depp has a basic weird character which he tweaks for each odd movie he's in - also saw a smidgeon of Jack Sparrow lol

dating front is very very quiet in sincity atm. Still receiving a trickle of emails but no-one I have wanted to reply to.

Mr Yorke is still in touch unfortunately from time to time - I ignore everything from him and I think he has left my place of employment - just to be sure took the afternoon off last week and my dept. have also been issued with alarms at work. Tho they said if we activated it they would ring our mobile WTF

He is def an oddball though and I am right to be very wary of him.

Still mooning over exbf alot tho am def doing no contact atm not even any drunken texts - I try to analyse what it is about him but it defeats me tbh.

Enjoying the break from work and rest though and from Monday eve 5 nights dc free. Have made plans for all but Fri evening.

Waves to everyone I have missed.

thesouthsbelle · 03/04/2010 20:40

hey sin - glad mr yorke has gone & you have the proper provisions.

have a fun few days off.

xbf - was that samename?

sincitylover · 03/04/2010 20:58

hi belle how are you?

yes it is good he appears to have gone without giving away too much info some of his comments on social networking site were rather alarming.

no exbf not samename he's someone I went out with before I got married and we started seeing each other again in 2007 but very on-off.

thesouthsbelle · 03/04/2010 21:09

how so? am suffering still with the cold - if I could actually summon the energy to move i'd go to bed but as it stands I think i'll just sleep on the sofa. farmer's making me smile thou.

have you talked to him of late then - or indeed asked him out for a drink?
