Lou , you've hit the nail right on the head. Same in RL.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 04/09/2009 21:56

25 yrs between us. when i look back i now think at the age i was meeting him and us getting together.... but age never was a problem between us, his other many faults were.

Remotew · 04/09/2009 22:07

So my mum wasn't right when she told me 'better to be an old mans darling than a young mans fool'.

Juicy, age doesn't always matter but he should be the best dad giving his maturity.

Remotew · 04/09/2009 23:28

For the next time you are on here I started a thread in chat that no-one has replied to, please check it out if you get time and reply .

Starts with AWW DD has just been asked out----

thesouthsbelle · 05/09/2009 11:28

OMG Ant - congratulations, I will as well await the wedding picks - a sucess story from our fit men threads. x

Janos - what an arse! has he done that on purpose?

sin - will keep my fingers crossed for you when he comes back.

juicy - also sounding good for you as well.

eve - agreed, who wants to flirt with a balding guy - mostly they have far too many 'lack of hair issue'

well date went well, v well indeed. stayed at his, he's gone off home to wales, and i'm out with friends tonight so it's all good. gonna stay in touch this week, and then hopefully meet up the week after when he's back - assuming I get a sitter. So it's all good, fingers crossed, he seems to be keen enough.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/09/2009 14:33

blimey lots to catch up with on here!

am guessing that the cyberman crown is still up in Scotland or has it returned down south
and yep despite all attempts at resistance i'm still v.coupled up here

Remotew · 05/09/2009 21:33

ASBM, we've been asking after you. It's not the same since you left . But life moves on and that's great.

Nice to hear you are OK and that things are going nicely with your nm.

lou33 · 05/09/2009 21:57

lunchbox called me today to say he had a conversation with his exw today and they have decided to make the split official and get divorced

OP posts:
ninah · 06/09/2009 11:26

that's good lou! tidier, isn't it
wish my bf would get his finger out and do same
tho since spending yesterday with ex and dc I am more convinced that ever that I don't want any live together long term stuff with bf, he is just not ... well I still have a thing for ex that I can't seem to get over, even tho I know we are just co parents now and that it is for the better
it just feels natural with him, we know each other well and get on in a bizarre kind of way
anyone else understand this, or advise? has been ages now, just can't shake the feeling and I know it's wasted emotion
bf is kind and reliable but ...
great to hear from you asbm
having a lazy morning today as tomorrow all back to work/school and will be hellish

ninah · 06/09/2009 11:36

rj where are you at with beachbum? any chats yet?! just saw your other thread
I would say go for it ...

inthemistsoftime · 06/09/2009 11:41

hi all, just marking my space as usual

inthemists waves to asbm, all is well in your part of the world then

thesouthsbelle · 06/09/2009 11:42

ninah - is it possible because it's easier because you know ex inside out & back to front? I often have similar thoughts about my ex, but know it's because it's 'safe' going back to there - ie know each other, know how the otehr reacts, iycwim. it's a lot harder to go forward with someone new. How long is it you've been seperated?

also hear ya on the moving in front. XP could never get it, but once bitten twice shy & all that jazz - besides which living with a boy would mean the toilet seat would be up all the time! and smelly socks would get found under the bed again.

abm - good for you, hope it works out nicely for you. x

Lou - also sounding good, sounds like lunchbox is willing to start a fresh with someone new & a clean slate which can only be a good thing.

was texting gymboy loads y'day things are plodding on there really. ho hum, better go and get DS to have the peace shattered!

ninah · 06/09/2009 11:46

is three years and our relationship ended badly, so not even the safety thing ...
need to pull myself together. Still, work and starting a new evening course should do the trick soon will be too tired for any mooning about
glad all Ok with gymboy by the way

lou33 · 06/09/2009 13:12

i would very much doubt him telling me this fact has anything to do with wanting to start again with someone new, they have only been apart a short time

i think settling with someone else would be the last thing on his mind

it's more likely he just felt the need t let me know because the conversation was quite fresh, and he knows he can talk to me about stuff

eve was telling me differently last night but i think i am right

ninah - not sure about being haunted by fimiliarity of ex living together?? is it just bf your unsure about living with. or the thought of him and his dc and all the extra hassle work involved living together would outweigh the benefits in your mind.

must admit the thought of moving in a fella is scarey... but a fella and his dc is REALLY scarey.

beachbum , he's away. has text from his destinations

oooh... another query. he told me about 8 weeks ago when he booked it where he was going and who with. i forgot. ....i think.. or maybe he didn't tell me but tbh... it doesn't bother me. as long as he's having fun.... would it bother any of you lot having no idea where a nm was or who he was with?

my bro started laughing when i told him i didn't know when he asked where he was (bro does my babysitting so knows about beachbum)...

asbm

lou, belle - still sounding good with your fellas.

lucy - how you getting on

inthemist -

eve - will check out your thread

janos - how things with you?

scl - missing samename any?

lou33 · 06/09/2009 18:13

oh blimey, lunchbox just called me to say his exw has changed her mind hand has spent all afternoon asking him to try again

he said he told her no, and there is no way he will go back to her, but it was quite a hard conversation from what i gather

OP posts:
DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/09/2009 19:07

lou - how do you listen to all that so early on.... things like that would put me off. do you mind? or like that he feels he can offload share with you?

lucy1001 · 06/09/2009 19:25

Hi getting on ok! Man I went with a drink for last week says he would love to meet again, apparently I made him smile! Anyway is meant to be away on business this wek and is seeing if he can re arrange his schedule!? So fingers crossed x
Anyway sorry not posted all weekend and now in a rush as DS and I have been moving house!
Will read and catch up with everyones progress tonight!

ninah · 06/09/2009 19:54

I think I'd like to know where and who with rj! but I also think your attitude is healthier
the living together stuff - spending time (ds b'day) with ex made me realise I was head over heels with him and still quite susceptible, even tho he was arrogant controlling nightmare to live with - and that I don't really feel the same way for bf even tho I want to.
not ready to let go yet either
good luck with the move, lucy! how exciting (if stressful what with school about to start)

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/09/2009 20:31

ninah - let go of which? ex?

as for healthier - i just dont see what the difference is if i know or not. i didn't think it was odd till my bro was laughin at me. then began to wonder if i was odd.

ninah · 06/09/2009 20:34

no, bf. He has not finished the tiling he promised yet.
Not you're not odd, I think you have a great attitude to relationships on the whole

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/09/2009 20:52

ninah - tsk tsk.... though bf was going up in marks out of 10. has he slipped slightly due to unfinished DIY

lou33 · 06/09/2009 20:56

we were friends for a while beforehand, when he was still with his wife, and he used to talk to me about it then, so i am fully aware of their history

our relationship changed a few months after they split, but i see no reason why he cant talk to me about it

and he feels comfortable enough telling me and turning to me to talk it through

he has asked me if it bothers me, he doesnt just rant on all the time

OP posts:
DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 06/09/2009 21:07

lou - sorry, i thought lunchbox was off a dating thing you met him. never realised you were friends before. understandable.
