elmo, your Captain reminds me of a conversation I had with another Captain of his ship, someone asked if he had a Master Bates with him, he replied that there was no Master Bates it was an urban myth as was Seaman Stains and Roger the Cabin boy!!

It made me lol.

elmoandella · 10/02/2009 21:11

in alexander g bell days , did they not just get married when they liked someone??? a fella liked you. asked you to marry you. or humped you in the servants quarter and you were banished to a nunnery??

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:12

oh LMAO!

lol, do you remember pre internet days when you actually had to have a bath (before showers), put on your best underwear, best outfit and even make-up and go out in the freezing cold to a pub to meet someone. Try telling the kids that today, they won't believe you! (Monty Python).

Eve thinks maybe she's too old for this thread.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:23

Do you remember the Monty Python, 4 Yorkshiremen sketch? No, well then, point made.

N1 · 10/02/2009 21:27

In the Bell days, there was a clear right and wrong. Now anything goes.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:27

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:30

Perhaps we should go back to those days and save all the fun hassel.

Wonder who I should marry DD off too. Not the good looking ne're do good, but the geeky clever one sat quiet. That will save her lots of energy.

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:32

ASBM, it was funny though for it's day. Late 70's. You would have been a little one.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:34

and is that what we should be aiming for with our choice of men too?

OP posts:
aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:37

Monty Python - Four Yorkshiremen

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:38

No way. lol

It's hard to tell at first. Should we have a concensus of this? Is there a sure fire way of knowing before you actually get to know.

Sorry if it a bit cryptic.

Shoe size, not accurate IME

Nose size hmm think Brad Pitt, surely that isn't an indication!

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:39

Well done NI, will follow that at my leisure.

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:41

Hope you are keeping up I was being cryptic about 'little one'

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:43

oh yes shoe size do er tend to look down there lol!

Yes. Making a few mistakes early on in life and learning from them without being labeled and counseled for yeas....when you get older, you know better about what you want.

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:46

Forget shoe size IME not accurate. Sorry to lower the tone. Feeling silly tonight. No work tomorrow.

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:49

NI I was being rude with an x post from ASBM.

Without wanting to get chucked off mumsnet I don't think disovering your new man is challenged in that dept would render counselling for life. At least I hope not or I should be sectioned by now. .

You know me don't take life too seriously.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:51

yes am in silly mode too helped on with some vino!
no have been let down by shoe size in the past

OP posts:
N1 · 10/02/2009 21:52

Better to feel silly (and you are not the only one) than to feel down or feel upset.

Remotew · 10/02/2009 21:55

Which way, big feet or surprise with little feet?

aseriouslyblondemoment · 10/02/2009 21:55

PARDON?
