agree with flame

evening everyone btw

flame i would say ow was trying to ease her guilt somewhat and trying to get you back on side

take the gifts and let her stew!

yesterday was a v lovely relaxed day

we opened presents about 8.30, then after i was still tired so i went back to bed for a few hours while, and the kids did their thing, and dp did some clearing up

everyone was v happy with the things they got, and we just did things at our own pace, eventually having xmas dinner about 5.30

dp had given the kids some money to get me some things, so i ended up with quite a bit

they got me some soap and glory stuff (love it), a rod stewart cd Grin, a knitted jumper dress in duck egg blue (also love it), a cook book i was coveting, and some choccies (already gone )

dp got me some perfume (ck1, not tried it before and really like it), and some more bath stuff

his mum got us a tin of chocs and his siblings got us tins of biscuits and chocs, which was nice of them and i wasnt expecting, but the kids are happy!

usually i go to my sister on boxing day, but we didnt this year as she was stuck in new york and wasnt sure she was going to be back in time, though she actually got back xmas eve in the end ( alright for some i can think of worse places to be stuck)

so today we took a couple of the kids and went to see dp's mum for a bit then came home and just had a cold buffet for dinner

i decided to be a bigger person than exh and did not turn off my phone, but kept it on silent all day

by 5pm he hadnt called so suggested they call him which they did

apparently he was going to call them at 6

anyway they chatted briefly but they seemed to struggle to know what to say, i think he was a bit monosyllabic when they told him what they got for xmas

its so silly how he behaves, because if he could be reasonable i would have asked if he wanted to come see them today for a bit, for example, but obviously how things stand that isnt gonna happen

and happy birthday aurora, i did post on your fb too :)

dd2 will be 14 in 3 days, then i will be 44 (!) 5 days later!

aurorastarofbethlehem · 26/12/2010 21:45

thank you Smile
mz- i agree with lou and flame, maybe it was right man worng time? don' kick yourself though, you are a lovely woman.

i could do with some advice though not on the romantic front today. i have found smaller house for me and dd, asked sis and brother toa ct as guarantor though they have refused, for pathetic reasons really, tho it wa skind of expected, i'm still hurt if i think about it. anyway. where do i go now? have started asking cousins, tho can't imagine if they can help. council won't help, vimes can't either, any advice? really don't want to lose house Sad

Flame · 26/12/2010 22:11

Yup, taking gifts and leaving her to it Lou!

I feel sure you believe every word of your XH planning to phone at 6pm Wink

I have my babies back and it is lovely. The big two both have colds starting which is rough, but they snuggled up with dr who when they got home, and then started in on lego harry potter.

Got presents from Carrot and he got just the right things. Bastard. Wink

Now snuggled up on the sofa waiting for supernatural to download.

Not a clue on your house situation aurora :( I have been lucky enough that my mum has stood as guarantor.

aurorastarofbethlehem · 26/12/2010 22:12

thnaks anyway flame Smile

christmaseve · 27/12/2010 11:32

I've had a great few days, bit shattered as it's been all go. I threw a party last night, just family but there has been plenty of us around this year and we had an engagement in the family.

Just having a quiet day today, going to watch Toy Story 3 later when DD surfaces.

Got to decide on NYE plans, think I'll hit the town!

christmaseve · 27/12/2010 11:43

Aurora, not sure of your circs but can you find a broker who specialises in getting mortgages, might be worth a try.

aurorastarofbethlehem · 27/12/2010 13:38

thnaks eve but am on hb at mo, no-one's gonna give me mortgage Sad someone suggested going to citizens advice, might do that next week. i don't need financial help, all i need is someone to say that i am trustworthy and won't flit without paying rent!!

Monty27 · 27/12/2010 15:00

Hi everybody, I meant to post the other day to wish you all a happy and peaceful xmas so here it is belated Xmas Grin

DC's and I spent xmas with my sis and it was lovely.

Al is history. Nuff said.

We are warm, we are fed and the bills are up to date, so can't complain.

Xmas Smile
Monty27 · 27/12/2010 15:05

.. and dd bought me a bright red Christian Dior lippie and ds bought me the Plan B cd that I love so all is good Xmas Smile

aurorastarofbethlehem · 27/12/2010 15:36

hi monty, glad you had good christmas Xmas Smile

Monty27 · 27/12/2010 15:38

Thanks Aurora, and happy birthday for yesterday :)

aurorastarofbethlehem · 27/12/2010 15:41

thank you Smile

persephonesnape · 27/12/2010 16:18

glad you've all survived xmas - now for new year!! :) I had planned to sit in on my own with a bucket of KFC and a bottle of champagne, however friends have changed plans and am now going out to get ridiculously drunk and be utterly irresponsible as children at ex-in-laws and i don't have to be the responsible one. for a change! :)

lou33 · 27/12/2010 16:42

i never do anything for nye, cant stand going out that time of year, mind you i am fairly anti social any time of year lol

dd1 is going out though

persephonesnape · 27/12/2010 16:56

i was quite looking forwards to my chicken-bucket, a candle-lit bath, bottle of solitary champagne and a wank Blush i'm quite misanthropic at this time of year (ugh! couples everywhere - kissing at the bells! bastards!) but need to force self to go out...

ninah · 27/12/2010 17:04

hi everyone happy christmas
Monty I like Plan B too (and the lippie)
I did have a good one but wasn't expecting too, I always find Xmas a real strain, however this year it was relaxed and fun esp as I did not have to cook AND even got a few hours of child free shopping

christmaseve · 27/12/2010 17:52

Aurora, sorry I thought you needed to buy. Good idea to go to CB and hope you get it sorted soon.

I've got another family party tomorrow night so will be familied out and have a choice of sitting in on my own NYE or going out to meet friends. Think I will brave it out and catch up with them latish on. I'm not a fan of NYE but as no-one goes out much nowadays I cannot let the opportunity pass.

Flame · 27/12/2010 18:34

I am pissed off that XH booked nye when i was still knocked sideways by the split. He has always refused to go out when I wanted to and now I can't. Mum originally said she would babysit to spite him but she seems to have forgotten that.

Very tempted to drown sorrows in bubbly tonight. I normally don't do resolutions but 2011 has to be the year I stop drinking alone.

Flame · 27/12/2010 18:41

Think i must be on some POF list of matches or something today. sudden glut of messages after nothing for weeks. Not interested in any of them but still...

Flame · 27/12/2010 23:26

Thinking about it... XH'S stories don't match up now. In Sept he was going to a nye party with ow and friends. Last week he said she was in Scotland for at least ten days as of last Wednesday.

christmaseve · 28/12/2010 11:59

Flame, maybe his plans have just changed.

Getting cabin fever atm, we had a load of snow again yesterday so I didn't go out. Need to get a bath, dressed and have a walk out. Got a family party tonight, no work for the week. Think I should arrange a drive into town on Thursday to have a look at the sales.

elastaelf · 28/12/2010 18:15

Hi all, Hope you all had a good christmas.

Everyone has finally gone home, the boys are with their dad and I have just got back from a long lunch with university man.

It was fab. We had a lovely time catching up on the past 20 years, talking about our thoughts on life and relationships. Was a really easy fun afternoon. He even bought me a christmas present.

He has invited me down to London to see him and I have suggested he come up again when he has a free weekend. Will definately be seeing him again Xmas Smile

Flame · 28/12/2010 18:51

So my dwarf has a date on Thurs. Feels odd. Pleased he did stick with the agreement and tell me though. Hopefully she will rival the desperately dull physicist. Wink. Obviously I am ignoring that I have had dates, text sex and a one night stand during some righteous jealousy.

elastaelf · 28/12/2010 19:02

Xmas Grin flame! Know how you feel.

Was pissed off that radioman had been online on dating site, but have just come back from lovely lunch with much nicer man so, given my amazing double standards can hardly complain Am also going to sign up elsewhere in the new year.

I might even call him up after I've had a couple of sherries, then again maybe I will just have a hot bath and carry on reading my Jilly Copper instead - now why cant my life be like one of her characters.....Xmas Smile

ninah · 28/12/2010 19:29

right, I think I am interested in fia men again
there was one at my sister's this xmas
and Holiday Man has invited us over nye.Not just us, it was more that the people he wanted were supposed to be spending it with me and so he added me on to the invitation. ie just being polite.
It's enough, though. I am back. Have bought some dresses in the sales and having a hair cut and generally planning to pull myself out of the cosy little rut I've dug for myself.
It seemed safer to avoid men for a while.
