Kicking this off.

Hi BeautnotMag, 3rd date sounding promising and can see you are keeping your options open.

OP posts:
mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 20:08

well quite - I have invited a few across like Lilac and BNM because I found this thread so friendly when I first joined

oh well Hmm

lou33 · 29/09/2010 20:15

Oh well indeed!

kdk · 29/09/2010 20:21

Lou - perish the bloody thought - was not what I intended at all - and I don't class up to 10 years as toyboy-territory anyway! Twenty years and you're talking - although I do agree with you MILY - just feel the internet isn't like real life in that way. We, and potential partners, are asked to draw what to me are odd and artificial lines - and probably discount people who don't meet those criteria .... and also leads in my view to unreal expectations. Ever noticed the amount of late 40s/early 50s guys who are looking for women between 18-28ish!!

On the other hand, I find the internet crap coz you get guys who couldn't pull a 90-year-old in a blackout even if she was wearing the biggest pair of beer goggles ever - who think because you're on the net and a single mum, that you'd be interested in them ....

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/09/2010 20:25

I think this thread is really friendly too.I'm so pleased i joined in as i would be a bag of nerves on my dates otherwise. My rl so called best friend kind of drifts off into her own world when i talk about DG Angry is so annoying as i listen to her drone on about all the losers she meets in pubs and clubs all the time

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 20:42

kdk, again, rofl, or possibly even pmsl Grin

Remotew · 29/09/2010 21:02

Someone mention toyboys, had my fair share of those, it was fun at the time but I'm over them now.

I don't find it any better with men my own age either, the ones I meet run a mile!

OP posts:
kdk · 29/09/2010 21:08

Anyway, t'is obvious our problems stem from the fact that

"our sights are set too high
we're too paranoid and wont take a risk to meet someone new
we're batting above our league (surely same as sights too high, no and shouldn't it be batting OUT OF our league?)
and we're taking it way too seriously"

I knew there was something I was doing wrong!

kdk · 29/09/2010 21:11

And just to prove the above have just had this message

"I liked the pictures in your profile and what you wrote about yourself so thought id pop by and say hi. Do you like my pic ? Just joined this site :>. I am looking to meet a nice sexy slightly older more mature lady such as yourself for perhaps a coffee and a little nibble and then who knows where else . Check out my pic and if you like what you see and want to know more. get in touch :)"

This is from a 27-year-old - anyone want him? And notice the 'slightly older' yet 'more mature' LAYDEE

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:15

kdk gack ack ack Grin

yes, I saw the other post on that thread and thought, I'm outta here....

Monty100 · 29/09/2010 21:38

Kdk roflmao @ 'you get guys who couldn't pull a 90-year-old in a blackout even if she was wearing the biggest pair of beer goggles ever'. Classic. Oh, I am looking forward to seeing you again Grin.

Come on peeps let's get organised. First Friday in November? Venueeee???? Around charing cross/strand/leicester square/covent garden so sarf londoners can get home on overground and norf londoners on norvern line? SCL knows the gin joints around there methinks Grin.

MILY - Well, I don't know details obv, but I got truly shafted that's all and the twat doesn't have a penny now to even pay maintenance so I get a bit protective over us laydees.

Lou - is there any way you could make London meet up?

We need to know who's coming as well.

Grin
BeauticianNotMagician · 29/09/2010 21:42

Lmao of just saw that post on the other thread too how funny.Poor DG better watch out tomorrow night poor guy he is obviously seriously lowering his standards wanting to spend time with me.Thats if i even let him come over my paranoia might get the better of me.

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:44

count me in, except that is bonfire night so I might be very unpopular with DDs.......

can we do the 12th?

Venue, anything on the norvern line will do me for Euston

you are right to be protective re finances, too many laydees get done over &/or twunty Xs lost pissed it all up the wall the money in the first place Hmm
I am not in that position, just careful tight Grin

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:45

BMN, kick yourself up the arse Grin

oo oo oo, new GSM person has just emailed

lou33 · 29/09/2010 21:48

What meet up where ?

Tho i am notoriously anti social and rarely go anywhere nowadays

Lol

Monty100 · 29/09/2010 21:49

Beaut - meant to say good luck tomorrow! Be gentle with him won't you -not--. Grin

Monty100 · 29/09/2010 21:50

grr
not

Monty100 · 29/09/2010 21:51

Lou - keep up. Another London meet in November, 12th possibly. Grin

MILY - where do you have to get to?

Roll call please.

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:51

he looks quite nice.....

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:53

am ostensibly writing appraisals this eve but not getting a huge amount done, as may be noted

although I have done the ironing

tis amazing what displacement activity I can leap on when faced with appraisals.....Hmm

lou33 · 29/09/2010 21:54

I do struggle to keep up!

Also had three people talking all at once at me :(

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 21:57

sorry Lou

some eves this thread is so quiet I get used to just posting my random ravings with no thought for anyone else Grin

am in a small town near Hemel Hempstead, so the nearer Euston the better - good bars in the Kings X area

sincitylover · 29/09/2010 22:02

yes the thread does move fast but it is friendly.

Yes could prob do November the 12 - Lou think you should come along.

mummyilubyou · 29/09/2010 22:04

is v friendly and I will happily meet wherever suits all cos for you lot it will be worth it Grin

Monty100 · 29/09/2010 22:07

MILY - I work on the Euston Road and commute to and from St Pancras and obv that's handy for Northern Line too, we had the last meet up there but I didn't realise that SCL had to traipse from the Strand. Blush

Hi SCL Smile hope all is ok with you. Did you apply for the job??

BeauticianNotMagician · 29/09/2010 22:08

Monty boys will be here tomorrow night so am going to be a good girl and save myself for the hotel at the weekend GrinIs a lot of pressure though cringe worthy bowling, meeting his family and getting naked.Although not all at the same time of course hahaha.

Ooh Mily DG is near Hemel Hempstead too.
