Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lou33 · 01/09/2010 21:00

Hello campers. Not much to report here. Quiet evening and an early night looms for me.

I have a massive chocolate craving and only £2 until friday :(

Janos · 01/09/2010 21:17

Sending you some green and blacks lou.

I very nearly did something very very silly.

lou33 · 01/09/2010 22:03

Did you almost forget to keep some choc back for yourself?

elastamum · 01/09/2010 22:43

Well so much for my plans....

e mailed canadien to say couldnt meet him and he replied saying he had met a lovely girl last weekend that he is really keen on so didnt think we should meet up!

Then had a long chat to sailor on the phone. He wanted to meet Friday as it is his mums bday on sat and I have said no as I have the kids and I will be back from work late friday anyway.

So its back to square one. I guess I will be around sat evening nursing the dog if anyone wants to share a virtual bottle of wine! Sad

ninah · 02/09/2010 10:04

lo all just got back
sorry lou, you had chicken questions but I see you're going ahead, good on you. It is quite magical watching an egg hatch
or having fresh eggs with a really yellow yolk
there is a chicken keeping topic on here btw
elasta sailor is still keen. Don't worry about the logistics thing, this doesn't put a keen man off. Hang in there!
janos you didn't contact him did you?
waves to everyone

Janos · 02/09/2010 10:18

:( elastamum

That was it lou!

No I didn't ninah. I'm still FB friends with his aunt (who is lovely). I considered telling her, for I think a nanosecond before I realised it would be a BAD IDEA.

aurorastargazer · 02/09/2010 10:29

good mornign everyone how are you all today?
i can start catching up more regularly now and get back to mn normal routine now dd back in school!

mummyilubyou - i was wearing them, then he started kissing them - have never been so quickly turned off Grin

greendemon - mr boots lives quite close to me and we had a very short fling back in march, i think. i made the mistake of wearing knee-high boot sover my jeans one day and now he keeps asking me to wear them, in bed and 'punish' him. not my thing unfortunately for him. he's immature and quite a selfish bloke.

elastamum · 02/09/2010 10:37

Hi All, Feeling a bit down this morning.

Got to pick the dog up this morning and then should really drive to see my aunt who is dying in a care home. Dont know whether to go or not as it is a 6 hour round trip and she wont recognise me as she has dementia.

I am supposed to be picking the kids up from school today as well so would have to go in the evening, which would be a killer as I have to be back tonight to take them to school in the morning. My brother who is there said dont bother, but I feel realy bad not going to see her and I dont think she will make the weekend.

No word from sailor, I suggested lunch on sunday as it is the only day we are both not busy and he hasnt replied. Am considering just giving up the whole dating saga and settling down to become a mad old dog lady instead Sad

aurorastargazer · 02/09/2010 10:43

elasta - ((((())))) am sorry about your aunt Sad please forgive me if this doesn't soudn 'right', it's said with good intentions - could you arrange for one of your neighbours to collect the children, or another mom from the school?

Janos · 02/09/2010 10:57

Hey aurora, good to see you:)

Boots man sounds, ummmm, interesting!

Really sorry to hear about your aunt elastamum, that sounds so difficult. If you think you will regret not seeing her then go - can you get friends of family to help you by having the kids overnight?

Janos · 02/09/2010 10:59

Sorry, elastamum that sounds flip doesn't it.

I know it's really difficult - my friends gran has dementia and she find it really distressing when she goes for visits.

aurorastargazer · 02/09/2010 11:00

hi janos Smile hahaha i'm trying to stay away from him - did i mention that he said he was 'there any time i wanted it'? i was tempted til i heard his comment about it being christmas before i was upstairs.

elasta - i agree with janos, could you ask them to help you?

elastamum · 02/09/2010 12:42

Hi all,

Thanks for your messages. Have talked to my brother and am going to go on Saturday as I dont have my kids. Aunt is just sleeping, just hope its not too late.

Dog is home and downstairs, looking fed up as I have just put a big plastic collar on her to stop her eating her stitches.

Am considering just deleting my internet dating profile. I realised this morning that my moods were starting to be dictated by whether I had a date / reply etc which is not good. Will see how thing with sailor plays out but think it might be time to take a break and just stick to real life - anyone else find it has this effect on them or is it just me?? Hmm

sincitylover · 02/09/2010 13:01

Elasta - there was a time for me when this would be true but now fairly detached and disengaged from it all. But no harm in deleting for a while - I have done this in the past and then gone back online.

My main worry atm is that ds2 has paed dietician appt next week - he is def overweight. My gp has referred after I took him (Mainly because exh keeps nagging)

I told gp that exh was very/over concerned about it and gp said 'I expect he uses it as a stick to beat you with'. GP doesn't know me or exh from adam btw.

Now exh wants to accompany us to appt next week - I really don't want him to come - he slimes up to professionals, whilst being vile to me and dcs.

And he thinks that we will be issued with a diet sheet (which gp told me we won't). I just can't bear the thought of him sitting there smug as anything.

Why does he want to come when he only sees dcs for approx 24hours every fortnight and two to three hours each week if they are lucky.

I want this handled delicately - ds2 i sjust 9 and my ds1 teases him about his weight (which I try to stop) and I think he gets bad vibes about it from exh and esp his new p who is a f*ing health freak - eg she wouldn't allow ds1 (skinny as a rake) to have a 99 last year - too chocolately.

I actually think labelling etc will be counterproductive - My tactic is to get him to be as active as poss - tho he's just been dropped by his football team Sadbut will do cricket and tennis.

The irony is that exh will do anything to dissaude him out of football - looks like he has succeeded.

Sorry for rant had to get off my chest.

elastamum · 02/09/2010 13:16

Sin, know how you feel on that one.

My DS1 is also overweight and I try very hard to keep him active and cut the calories but its not easy as he will just hoover up food at the dinner table including his brothers - who is tall and thin. My ex is always commenting but doesnt do anything practical with the kids to get hem out and about and continually feeds them nuggets etc

DS1 is not sporty also and struggles to make the teams - fortunately his school does a lot of outward bound - which he likes and I take them climbing, hiking and skiing. He is 11 and i am hoping he is due a growth spurt and will thin out sometime soon. Its not easy when your ex uses everything to critisize your parenting though.

hatesponge · 02/09/2010 13:43

it's a ditto from me as well SCL - you might remember me saying before DS1 is overweight. Ex has criticised me re this for years (but at the same time washing his hands of it in some ways as he is not DS1's bio father, and therefore doesn't consider it his responsibility).

DS1 is active, does play a lot of sport but elasta like yours he is a hoover. I'm hoping for a growth spurt as his bio father was almost 6ft, Ds1 is only 5ft at moment so hoping he has some way to go. DS1 does eat his feelings though and I did notice he ate more 2 weeks ago when Ex took DS2 on hols but not him :(

Though Ex doesn't criticise directly to me any more as we don't speak, he also does nothing constructive. When boys stayed at his last, they spent all their time watching TV, and were fed kebabs/chips Hmm

elasta, just to add, re the dating thing, I think its easy to become a bit jaded with it all. Maybe time to take a break from it for a while and see how you feel(I have to say having given up for the last few months I don't miss it much yet, although the time may well come when I go back to it!)

the latest in the WM saga is we were on the phone for an hour last night, quite a lot of it was being stupid and thinking up ideas we could take onto dragons den to make our million! Grin. He is as silly as me sometimes. and of course I'm still no further forward, although we did get cut off at one point and when I called back, he said(jokingly - well I hope he was joking!) I thought you'd got bored with me and hung up! :)

lou33 · 02/09/2010 13:43

thanks ninah, i already started a thread there , but was just asking you as well :)

crap day here today

yesterday i had a physio appt for ds2, the news isnt great, he is becoming more fixed in his legs, which can result in him being wheelchair shaped if something isnt done

so now i have to wait for an appointment at the hospital to consider having his hamstrings cut

today i get a red bill from british gas saying i owe them over 700 quid, which i shouldnt do as i have a fortnightly standing order with them that i set up in april

only it turns out my bank fucking didnt sort it out as they said, but after giving them a meter reading it has gone down to 560, but ffs i am never ever allowed to not be owing money it seems

it also means i will have to go tot he bank and check that every debit is being paid as i asked, in case i get unexpected bailiffs knocking on my door

and i have 30p til tomorrow, and no loo paper

ninah · 02/09/2010 14:15

lou am so sorry, sounds dreadful, v sad for you about ds
and Angry on your behalf about bank
money has been pretty much a constant undercurrent of worry here at times
given the circs i am sure BG will give you time, although, I know, it's still got to come from somewhere

lou33 · 02/09/2010 14:57

I have to pay them £60 a fortnight now. Thats not including the 40 i already pay for electricity. I have a water bill outstanding too.

I am pissed off.

And a bit down about ds as well. Have moaned on phone to dp to let off steam

sincitylover · 02/09/2010 14:57

god lou that's awful sending positive vibes - I am constantly chasing my tail with money

Banks can be shite there's not debate about that. (is that libellous lol)

And Sad re your ds2

Someone just bought me a big bit of chocolate cake Smilewhich I have eaten up.

Yes ds2 is a hoover - he has always loved food since a toddler. He is stocky build (as opposed to his brother who is narrow) and the main prob area is his belly.

I might phone the paed in advance and ask what to expect as I don't want ds to become fixated on it or receive the wrong message.

Remotew · 02/09/2010 16:10

Lou Sad

SCL, Elasta and Sponge. It's really hard to stop them overeating. On the one hand you want them to be slim but also love them so don't want them to be hungry. I have the opposite problem with DD's fathers side always giving her chocolate, massive slab put trough the door the other night so I had to help her with it, as presents etc. Her nan does her big dinners and pudding when she goes up there.

She isn't overweight but has a huge appetite and will eat unhealthy stuff and has never been a slip of a girl Grin.

elastamum · 02/09/2010 16:58

Oh Lou, Really sorry, you seem to have a lot on your plate atm. I think people underestimate the stresses of being a lp. My ex who has just remarried has already started grumbling about paying maintenance and I can see where that one is going - just a matter of time.

My aunt has just died. Feel a little bit sad I didnt see her but I couldnt have made it down there in the time. At least my brother was there today. Now have the funeral to arrange for next week. She has no children and I am her executor and next of kin as I was her favourite niece.

And I am stupid enough to think I even have the time and energy to date anyone! Sad

mummyilubyou · 02/09/2010 18:33

Hi, gosh, crap day but nothing compared to some of these posts, can't say anthing helpful except that I feel you lou, elasta, scl

Am off out on date with GMM.....must try not to take my bad work mood in with me or the poor man won't know what's hit him

See you all later

mummyilubyou · 02/09/2010 18:35

elastamum · 02/09/2010 20:22
