lou33 · 31/08/2010 14:35

mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 14:38

awwww

yes, yes

caveat that he is responsible for cleaning out?

hatesponge · 31/08/2010 14:54

lou - I think you have to agree to the hens in the circs :) you will get lots of good girlfriend points for doing so am sure!

mily - was the gorgeous question re WM? If so, he is v much so. and very tall and has lovely broad shoulders. and is v funny.

Will shut up now and get back to work Blush

Remotew · 31/08/2010 15:51

Hi to everyone. I haven't been posting much but will have a read through later.

Lately I've really gone off men. Grin I just carn't be bothered at all, must be my hormones. Being on POF is depressing me as well, lots of messages of the fuglies and the plain boring, and/or they live miles away and it's not worth the effort.

Have been emailing a guy who lives abroad for over a year and he is due a visit home soon, even then it's miles away. I asked for a photo which he text Sad he's another one I don't fancy! Told him it's a long way to travel for someone he's never met. Will see how persistent he is. If he goes the extra mile I will meet him.

OP posts:
lou33 · 31/08/2010 16:05

yeh he would clean them out no probs, he is v good with all that kind of thing

the chicken coop costs a fair bit though, so he might have to wait for me to save up!

mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 21:22

evening all

Sponge, yes the gorgeous questino was re WM - he sounds worth the effort Grin, assuming he will make the effort for you

Lou, I think an IOU chickens in a card for DP would raise a smile

Eve, I know what you mean re fancying/not fancying.....if it ain't there is ain't there.

I am starting to worry that the pics of GMM are less than inspiring, combined with pleasant emails, whereas drop dead hunky Prof and profile/emails that make me grin from ear to ear are taking over (no idea if that sentance make sense..........)

So am I being unfair meeting GMM on thurs eve when I am not really into him????

Remotew · 31/08/2010 21:39

Mummy I think you are being very kind agreeing to meet him at all Grin. Meet them both and then see if your instincts were correct.

OP posts:
mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 21:42

eve, is only because I swore to drag a date to this thread Wink

feel even worse that poor GMM is a trophy Blush

but y'know what, as Sponge said, even a photo is only a partial view of someone. So if GMM in RL has twinkle in eye, smells nice, has the right kind of hands and voice (god I am picky), then we could be on to something Wink

mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 21:43

have had 1 lovely young man offer to be my slave, which i have to day I wasn't expecting from the gruaniad site Wink

and I can't think when I would fit him in Grin

lou33 · 31/08/2010 21:52

funnily enough i gave him just that tonight (he came down to be here overnight for his birthday tomorrow), and when he read it you could see a massive grin spreading over his face

plus i unblocked the bathroom sink and cleaned the trap myself, so i am the best gf ever in his eyes right now Grin

the kids are now thinking of names for the chickens when we get them (so far we have had priscilla, marjory, betsy and henrietta)

dp has been checking out chicken coop prices - not cheap but found a decent one for £180 including a run

we now have to decide whether or not to get rescue hens or new ones from a farm which is only about 15 mins from here, and sells everything we need (we see the gazillion chickens running free by the road as we pass by, fenced in of course)

mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 22:03

lou, how about a coupla local ones and a coupla rescue ones, the former can teach the latter what's to do.

also, stating the bleedin' obvious but freecylce for chicken gear? Or ebay?

you sound like the best gf ever Grin

am listening to the R4 iPlayer of celebration of life of Humph(rey Lyttleton) which as a huge fan of 'Clue' I am enjoying no end

mummyilubyou · 31/08/2010 22:04

ps, henrietta is a must Grin

lou33 · 31/08/2010 23:20
Grin

i will let him choose, they will be his after all, and he will be cleaning them out lol

lou33 · 01/09/2010 11:59

He loved his gift everyone :)

And i have a 39 yr old bf!!!

Janos · 01/09/2010 12:38

Afternoon everyone :)

So lou you have said yes to the chickens! Happy birthday to your DP.

How is everything going datewise? Sounds like ytou are in for some fun MILY.

I have completely lost interest in men/dating so not sure I should still be posting on this thread - feels a bit fraudulent.

lou33 · 01/09/2010 12:43

I said yes, i am sure i will regret it, but for now i can do no wrong in his eyes!

And you better not stop posting woman ( looks sternly over glasses)

Janos · 01/09/2010 12:58

You do realise your cat is going to go nuts Grin?

And I promise not to stop posting!

Do you have anything birthday plans for DP?

lou33 · 01/09/2010 13:20

Cat and dogs probably! The chickens will be in a secure run tho so they will be safe

Good to hear you will stick about too.

The plan was to take him for dinner on sat, but he forgot he is working overnight, so now it is friday night when he has finished work

sincitylover · 01/09/2010 13:59

Lou love the idea of chickens - wh keeps them and they keep him with a good supply of eggs. Tho recently he had to treat them for red something which is some sort of mite that they can get.

Yes I also feel a bit of a fraud on this thread atm.

MILY - go for the date as it prob gives a good yardstick to compare to the prof

waves to anyone else I have missed

lou33 · 01/09/2010 14:35

i see no fraud here scl, after all if there were any fit interesting and available men coming your way then you would feel like dating, so really its just like a discussion about where they have gone, just like the title suggests :)

yes i have been reading up on things like red mite, i still cant believe he is turning us into the bloody walton family!

Janos · 01/09/2010 16:51

Oooh, dinner sounds luvverly lou.

LOL @ being like The Waltons..well why not, there's worse to be!

SCL - I know exactly what you mean. I actually got approached by a feit etc typ the other day (believe it or not) but just wasn't interested.

After exbfs revelation which left me feeling pretty angry and upset (upthread if you're interested), I think singledom is healthiest option for me atm.

elastamum · 01/09/2010 16:55

Hi all, Big wave, just checking in.

Dog has had her first OP today, she is in recovery so am just waiting to here from the vet if we can pick her up later.

Mily, I know how you feel about GMM, i feel a bit like that going off on a date with canadien, whilst knowing I am already keen on sailor.

Am thinking of putting him off until next week as I have a huge pile of work to do on Friday and the chances of me getting back on time to go out are slim. Also, it means I am likely to see sailor first and will know how I feel about him after the weekend. I hate messing people around so it might be the best option. what do you think?

Janos · 01/09/2010 17:10

Hi elastamum, hope your dog is ok.

Animals seem to recover from ops pretty quickly...when my cat got the snip he was charging round the house within seconds of getting home.

Sounds like delaying your date with Canadien would be best option for your peace of mind? WDYT?

Betty79 · 01/09/2010 19:56

Just sneaking in again, only got back from my hols yest (was lovely) but was back to work today.

Just wanted to say Mily go on the date, if anything else you might have a nice night out.

Before I met my current dp I went on about 4 dates in 3 weeks or so, was on a roll then! None of them really floated my boat, then I met dp! A couple of them were great to text/chat but when I met them in person there was absolutely no spark. So dont pin all your hopes on the ones you think u will like. When I first met up with dp I thought he was a bit too tall and skinny but his personality and cheeky smile won me over!
