Hello!

ChaoticAngel · 21/08/2010 00:40

Oops, forgot to say I have a date tomorrow too so will see how that goes Grin

GreenDemon · 21/08/2010 10:30

Woke up in the night being sick and was panicking I would have to cancel Shock. Thankfully it seems to have been food related as once it was out of me I was absolutely fine again.

Starting to freak out slightly. I have given my mate details of where I am going, times etc. It feels really weird not telling my mum - I tell my mum everything but I want to get my head round it all before I mention it to her as she will have an Opinion (no idea what one!). I know she is anti-DH but not sure she is pro-dating.

GreenDemon · 21/08/2010 15:40

So. DH has finally changed his fb status to single.

A bit stomach churney, but not too bad tbh. My mum sat me down to tell me - I thought someone was dying! Asked him to warn me about doing stuff like that in future as I had to deal with mum - he said sorry. Told him I am actually ok with the idea of him being single and possibly seeing someone else, with the exception of his OW/Friend. It feels very weird to think a month (?) ago I was crying begging him to give us one last shot.

sincitylover · 21/08/2010 17:00

Good luck with your date tonight Greem

Dcs went off on hols early this morning. They#ve arrived safely. Smile

Got a few things planned for next week.

Will miss them but relish the peace and quiet and headspace.

DS1 threw a wobbly last night and I need to think how to deal with him upon his return.

GreenDemon · 21/08/2010 18:36

What happened with DS1?

sincitylover · 21/08/2010 19:07

he's a hormonal teen (nearly 14) - seems to like to continually annoy me and ds2 - he threw stuff on ds2 when he had just gone to bed, then me - kept coming in my room turning the light on.

Can't decide whether this is extreme attention seeking behaviour/jealousy or something worse- either way it has to stop. He's quite immature for his age and is just on the onset of puberty.

Have just been messaged by 2 26 yr olds on dating site so perhaps shouldn't be so worried about my age Hmm. Rather too young for me mid 30 is youngest age.

Remotew · 21/08/2010 20:43

Gosh, lots of new people posting, hi to you all.

Went out last night it was a really great night. Got a bit merry and was dancing away to this really cheesy band Blush. Anyone remember a guy I was seeing briefly think I called him 'Captain'. I've bumped into him a few times since and he usually annoys me. Saw him last night and he was sober, I wasn't so ended up going back to his. Borrowed a fleece to come home in and he rang and said how pleased he was we were friends again and would I like to make a night of it when I return it!

I've had contact with a few guys from POF but cannot be bothered with it atm. So am thinking of doing a dissapearing act.

hey eve

don't disappear off this thread Grin

I may not be helping myself by wtching the bourne identity whilst browsing GSM and making unfavourable comparisons between profile pics and matt damon......

Remotew · 21/08/2010 22:52

Yeah cannot imagine there are many who look like Matt Damon. Same as on POF with the photos of the models next to your messages. Doesn't help when one of the models looks like an ex of mine.

mummyilubyou · 21/08/2010 22:53

well, my xh is pretty goodlooking, so I am trying to remind myself that isn't the point Grin

Remotew · 21/08/2010 23:06

We know we should go for personality first but it can be difficult to do in practise. Much easier to fall for a looker.

lou33 · 22/08/2010 18:12

can i just say that today i have not only accidentally called dp "husband", but also referred the the dc's as "our kids"

luckily he has a soh

i told him i had temporarily promoted him (i often call him boyfriend instead of his actual name, when i am speaking to him you see, which is ok as he calls me gf or woman lol)

elastamum · 22/08/2010 20:02

Hi all,

There seems to be a lot happening on this thread!!

Have just got in from my lunch date with sailor. Had a lovely time and he took me for a spin in his very fast open top sports car followed by a serious snog. Grin

If we hadnt been parked in the village high street I dont know where it would have stopped! So have invited him round for dinner next time the kids are away Blush

sincitylover · 22/08/2010 20:40

ooh elasta sounds very promising Grin

Supercherry · 22/08/2010 20:49

Elastamum and Greendemon- sounds like you've had some fab dates :)

I'm still waiting to hear back from my potential first date- he has said he can only do sat afternoon but is free following wknd. I have been checking for his confirmation frequently like some right saddo!

The initial excitement is wearing off a little. I checked out Guardian Soulmates too but I find most men on there prefer a woman without children. The ones who don't mind, usually because they have children themselves seem way too old for me. I find this depressing.

I prefer parenting dating websites I think- all in the same boat and it feels much more friendly.

What do you all think? Which websites have you liked?

elastamum · 23/08/2010 06:43

Hi SuperC, I think others might be better qualified on websites than me. I have dated quite a few men off GSM but a lot are looking for younger women with no kids.

Sailor is on my single friend which a girlfriend put me on. I have to say he is the only person on MSF I have ever spoken to and I was just about to take my profile off it.

Have looked at single with kids, although there seem to be an awful lot of men on their with no kids at all Hmm
