Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
simpson · 19/08/2010 22:34

Hi guys Smile

Can I join you???

Not sure about this dating lark just yet. Have been separated from H for 15mths (my doing)

He lives in Ireland (I don't) and has been quite pants about seeing Dcs Sad which does not really give me much time to go out and meet someone Sad

Just wondering how you guys manage to date if you are sole cares for your DC???

GreenDemon · 19/08/2010 22:37

Ello Simpson - I decided I was crashing this thread a couple of days ago - they are very nice :o

Lou - I think it helps that you are bloody stunning Wink Just had a look at your profile for first time in a couple of years I think, your DD1 looks soooooooooooooo like you

simpson · 19/08/2010 22:41

Lou - is it you that has just got new puppy??

I have just got 10wk old kitties who I adore

But hope I am not going to turn into sad cat lady LOL.

simpson · 19/08/2010 22:41

cheers for welcome greendemon Grin

Remotew · 19/08/2010 22:45

Hi simpson, and goodnight all, need to get up tomorrow for work.

OP posts:
lou33 · 19/08/2010 22:56

yep its me who has the new pup

we now have 2 puppies, a cat and 3 hamsters

oh and a miniature sausage dog most weekends as well....

simpson · 19/08/2010 23:01

OMG am soooo Envy on the sausage dog (and pups LOL)

If I ever get a dog it will be a daschund. They are lovely Grin

But tbh although at home with Dcs atm (5 & 2.6) that is likely to change when DD goes to school and then cannot guarantee time for dog etc...

lou33 · 19/08/2010 23:22

the sausage dog is dp's and is called boris and is so sweet and well behaved and is best friends with dora, who is our 8m old springer spaniel

she is like all springers, totally bonkers and totally lovely, and has taken eddie, the 8 week old patterdale/jack russell puppy we got on sunday, under her wing

they have gelled really well

we just have to introduce boris now, but wont be having him this weekend, to give eddie a bit more time to settle in (dp shares boris with his exw, like having joint custody of children)

it will all be fine, but i am sure boris will make sure eddie knows his place in the hierachy, lol

i dont think eddie will be bothered tho tbh he is a fiesty little thing, when he is awake that is

he has a frenzy of activity then likes to snuggle into someone, lie on his back and pass out for ages

he looks like he has died he sleeps so deeply lol

Supercherry · 20/08/2010 08:43

Hello everyone- may I join you please?

Decided very recently to start dating again. It's nerve wracking but really exciting.

I have 2 DSs, 2.5yrs and 10mths.

I am looking for fun really, nothing serious just yet.

I have a date lined up for next week!

Do I have to read this entire thread to catch up? I am alrady up to date on Boris, Eddie and Dora.

hatesponge · 20/08/2010 09:51

hello all - and welcome simpson and supercherry :)

good luck to those with dates coming up, hope all goes well! - elasta good news re second date with sailor Grin sounds as though he might have potential..will watch for the update with interest!

so, my lasagne didnt get eaten as wedding man had already arranged to meet someone re a job. He didnt seem that keen to go, but it was the only day the guy could do for the next fortnight, so fair enough. and he told me before I offered the lasagne so I think hope it was true.

Still totally unsure about whether he feels the spark as I do, we do get on ever so well but am not sure if he could/does view me as anything more than a friend.....

I am developing a proper crush though Blush which is a bit sad at my age! When he stands near me I get a fluttery feeling in my chest and a strong urge to jump on him Grin.

elastamum · 20/08/2010 09:54

Hi All, Hi Simpson, Hi Supercherry! glad you made it over from your other thread!

You have a date next week!? do tell us more Grin

Lou, its nice to see soemone else out there who is bonkers enough to have more than 2 dogs!! Ive got 3 and sailor my date also has 2 huge dogs of his own Confused

elastamum · 20/08/2010 09:55

Oh sponge, I know the feeling Grin

hatesponge · 20/08/2010 12:04

elasta - bad isnt it Grin

had a bit of a wobble this morning thinking possibly he was dragging out the work he's doing for me to earn extra money. I think the experience with my Ex means I'm a bit sensitive re money and being taken advantage of. have talked myself out of it now for the most part.

would feel much better if I actually KNEW. but then he is so lovely that the thought he could maybe, just maybe, be interested (even though I am nothing like the girls he normally goes for, and nowhere near his level) actually makes me feel sick, but in a good way.

I really am very sad Blush

kdk · 20/08/2010 12:21

Sponge - I've told you before - STOP talking that way to yourself! You are a beautiful intelligent sparky woman who deserves a guy who is the same ....

Repeat after me

"because I'm worth it ...."

Supercherry · 20/08/2010 13:19

Thank you for the welcomes. Will update on the date next week when it is confirmed. The potential date is a guy I have chatted to previously on a dating website.

He is attractive, not entirely sure yet if we are compatible- my gut tells me that perhaps not- but I'm going for it anyway.

He has asked me to meet for coffee- but I have told him I'm free next sat evening, so I am hoping the coffee turns into something stronger.

I'll need it for my nerves!

What were your first date experiences after breaking up with the father's of your children? (Assuming this is everyone's situation obv.)

aurorastargazer · 20/08/2010 15:39

hio everyone Smile

monty - thread #24!!

i got snogged two days ago Grin

unfortunately it was mr boots, so i've kicked himt o the kerb now - he's still on about those blasted boots!!!

hi simpson and greendemon Smile

sponge - i agree with kdk repeat ad infinitum 'because i'm worth it, because i'm worth it ...'

aurorastargazer · 20/08/2010 15:40

and supercherry sorry Blush

simpson · 20/08/2010 16:58

Hi all

I am going out for a drink with a friend tonight.

Am hoping there is someone I can feast my eyes on Grin

Supercherry - very Envy on the date Grin

Have decided only in the last few wks that I am ready to date again (although not getting too serious iyswim)

Not had a whiff of a date yet but a couple of snogs Smile

But not brave enough to try internet dating yet....

lou33 · 20/08/2010 17:05

afternoon everyone

the only thing i have to report, is that last night lb (the one i dated before dp) apologised to me for the way we ended, and said that i was right wrt my theory as to why it did

he said he was pleased i was happy now but hinted that he wished i wasnt with dp

i thanked him for the apology and said it was all water under the bridge and i wasnt holding any grudges, cos if i was we wouldnt have remained friends

but it was good to know that i was right about his reasons iyswim

he has invited us both to his impending 40th bash, but we are not going

oh and my heating , washing machine and tumble dryer are all kaput :(

aurorastargazer · 20/08/2010 17:14

oh crap lou just what you nee dSad

lou33 · 20/08/2010 17:17

i know

luckily dp says he has a washer dryer in a lock up so he is going to bring it down tomorrow

i am drowning under dirty laundry

mummyilubyou · 20/08/2010 17:42

Eve, just picked myself up after rofl at 'god rest his soul', that really would be a great way to go although clearly rather disconcerting for the one left behind, as it were

goodness, it was quiet on here for a while this week, has just taken me ages to catch up and new people too - can't cope

lou, if I was anywhere near you I would say bring your laundry round here

I think I'm where you were at the 5 months point, ready for a lighthearted fling - would like to meet someone gorgeous who is a total turn on but not necessarily anything too long-term, since I haven't the energy atm for a 'proper' realtionship. In fatc, have started day-dreaming about 'lunch meetings' in London that could take place horizontally - only time I have in the day with no kids and clear conscience Grin

to Monty, Eve, Sponge, KDk, elasta and fellow newbies

where has SinCity gone? She disappeared after she accidently libelled a certain billionaire government advisor Grin

mummyilubyou · 20/08/2010 17:44

aurora Envy snog

am intrigued by mr Boots, was he wearing them or you??

mummyilubyou · 20/08/2010 17:47

sorry, I should clarify re sincity, it wasn't on this thread

lou33 · 20/08/2010 17:49

aw thank you :)

wrt flings/relationships, i think it depends on what type of personality you have

some people can only have sex if they are in a serious relationship, others (like me)have no problem with sex being more recreational Grin

that doesnt mean to say i would have more than one on the go though, that has never been my thing

and of course i am able to have serious relationships too, but it doesnt have to be serious for me to have sex, iyswim
