erm, not sure if this will work but have started a thread in the interests of currying favour with MNHQ!

I don't do the British versions of any reality show tbh, don't watch I'm a celebrity or BB! American shows are just funnier!

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 21:53

dd told dh that he was an expert at tipping her wee wees in the toilet (from the potty that is)
PMSL
we always get a performance appraisal on our parenting skills which is helpful really

rosmerta · 13/11/2007 22:06

lol sfx

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 22:22

speaking of telly am just watching the programme on the renovation of St Pancreas on BBC2 absolutely fascinating

I really hope dd is ok tomorrow because I really need to get out, even if it is just to mothercare

rosmerta · 13/11/2007 22:23

Dh just put that on as well, we've been catching up with Heroes, think we have one more episode to go and we're fully caught up!

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 22:30

are you watching the new series? my sister and niece are and I am jealous must ask dh to break the law

Kewcumber · 14/11/2007 10:40

DS much better today (hoorah) sadly my mum didn't look at all well. How bad am I for running away fast before she said she was too ill to have him?

Kewcumber · 14/11/2007 10:42

(SFX - am not congratulating you yet as you seem a bit nervous, so perhaps you would be good enough to let me know when I can...)

sfxmum · 14/11/2007 10:52

glad to hear ds is feeling better, don't think you are a bad person we all squint and look the other way at times when we need to.

I am not anxious I am in fact quaking in my stylish yet affordable boots - to bastardize a quote sorry am feeling silly today
(points for attribution)

am forcing self to get out as have been indoors since sunday, dd looks better so it is at least playground for us, unfortunately the dreaded place does not have toilets nearby a bit of an issue at the moment

sfxmum · 14/11/2007 10:58

and good morning everyone too

paddle had a look at the pics - very nice reminded me of dd trying to hijack the blowing of the candlescheeky monkey

Paddlechick666 · 14/11/2007 11:02

arg! i have become the woman who puts her make-up on at the bus stop and on the bus.

all this business of trying to get dd to CM for 8am and myself into the office is just too bloody hard!

seems H has offered landlord slightly reduced rent in return for 12 month lease on house.

find myself actually pretty pissed off that i have all the stress of selling/buying/moving into a 2nd floor ex-local (altho not nasty!) property in not such a nice area (altho not nasty of course!) and he gets to swan in and occupy my (well it's not mine really of course) lovely house. which has become so much more lovely since the fishwife next door de-camped to dubai.

and I know I should't allow this to annoy me, I know I should be looking forward to my new home and being proud of myself for managing to do this etc but honestly, FFS, he seems to get it so bloody easy.

Paddle, anything he gets easier will annoy you, its unavoidable really. You do get used to the morning rush and I gave up makeup and fall asleep on the tube (hey it works for me!)

Paddlechick666 · 14/11/2007 11:05

ps: he texted earlier to say that he hoped the nightmare would be over soon for him too and that 2008 could start with a balanced agenda.

I am so very tempted to break my text embargo along the lines of "perhaps your balanced agenda for 2008 and could include some actual parenting of and comittment to your child".

SJ99 · 14/11/2007 13:16

Hello all

I managed to wake DS up at 6am today when I went to the loo, not a good move, he's been a bit grumpy because of it although at least he did enjoy his music class.

Weather is lovely today. Maybe park for us later. Have you left the house yet SFX?

ROS - Sorry your Ds is not feeling the best, mine seems ok so far touch wood it continues. Have decorators finished yet?

SJ99 · 14/11/2007 13:18

Ros - thanks for restaurant tip, have booked a table there for tomorrow night will let you know how it goes

SushiMummy · 14/11/2007 13:24

What restaurant are you going, SJ?[nosey]

Hi all!

SJ99 · 14/11/2007 13:29

Thai Elephant in Richmond, have you been?

SushiMummy · 14/11/2007 13:37

Is that the one behind the bus depo/terminal? Haven't been there in ages but remember it quite nice.

SJ99 · 14/11/2007 13:40

Yes Ros said it was near bus station. The menu on website looks good, lots of veggie food too. Haven't eaten any Thai food since about March so am really looking forward to it

rosmerta · 14/11/2007 13:41

Yep, decorators have finished & it does look very nice. At least all the horrible woodchip wallpaper is gone! I now have to decamp to PIL on Sunday while they come in to sand & varnish the floors!

fitfox · 14/11/2007 13:49
Grin
sfxmum · 14/11/2007 13:58

ros good to hear it is nearly done

SJ always fancied going there, was on my bus route to work

did go to the playground but I am obviously a grumpy old woman because I told off the postman on my way out, that useless idiot

he was hanging around the entrance waiting for someone to get out so he could get in, trades entrance closes at 11, so he did not have initiative to ring bells
that is why we have not had post all week.

then at the playground was alone with dd some man came over and started doing push ups on the climbing frame!
I glared and told him it was a kids playground
he said oh yes I feel silly but nowhere else to do push ups.
I told him to use a bench like everyone else
he left

SushiMummy · 14/11/2007 14:13

Well done, sfx! You were so right to tell these people off.

We are thinking of going to a restaurant this weekend (my late birthday celebration). TBH, I'm a bit sick of going to the same restaurants (PizzaExpress, Japanese and Chinese). Any suggestions? It has to be child friendly, tho.
