Oh good, sounds like you are on the mend. What food do you think caused the food poisoning?

sfxmum · 10/12/2007 15:00

hello all

hi Mellow happy birthday nice to see you around.

COV much sympathy

KC hope you feel better, probably doing Kew in the evening as well.

paddle sounds like things going well

Foxie heathen that I am still love Christmas masses, before dd I used to go on Christmas eve with FIL while the others drank at homemade us feel all virtuous

just back from hospital seems all gone and clear now was waiting for this to put an end to this episode now getting ready to try again in the new year.
dd woke up much earlier than usual today so is now sleeping.
one of my sisters went with me, I was glad of the help and it was nice to catch up. made detour via Montezuma for some chilli choc, lovely!

sfxmum · 10/12/2007 15:02

pardon my lack of proper english and punctuation

foxcubinapeartree · 10/12/2007 17:52

Kew tell me more about this potential lodger person then

Is he house trained?

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 20:04

sushi, I can't remember how old your ds is? My ds is nearly 2 and he screamed his head off at santa the other day! Though I think it was more because he thought it was a statue until he spoke!

Sfx, hope you're feeling ok. Must say, as much as I love chocolate I'm not keen on the idea of chilli choc!

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 20:07

glad your sister went with you sfx and hope the chocolate helped.

Foxie I don't know him but he was best friends of hte guy who died. Family similar age to yours I think, I'm sure he would expect to pay a full weeks rent and it presumably would still work out cheaper than hotel 3 nights a week.

I'll email you my sisters email address if you don't still have it, let her know you might be interested and perhaps he can come around and check it out...

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 20:32

am going to bed early with a cup of hot choc to watch tv - can i risk a mince pie after a night throwing up?

Sushi - if it isn't a bug, I suspect it was a dreaded ready meal which seemed to be leaking a bit... serves me right I should have binned it.

SJ99 · 10/12/2007 21:39

Hello all

Paris was excellent, just went too quickly! DS was hard work at times but on the whole seemed to enjoy the trip, esp running up and down the whole of the Eurostar for the whole journey, and on the rtn leg too The Christmas lights in the city were lovely.

Just had quick catch up

Kew - sorry you're feeling so ill, but glad you're enjoying your exercise classes

Paddle - congrats on moving in, dead exciting! Didn't have a dishwasher for past few yrs, I hated it, it's absolute bliss having one now

Hello Mellow - Happy Birthday! Am around to meet up next wk

Foxie - Glad swim is going so well. Have signed DS for next lot of lessons, he seems to love it too

Ros - glad you had bit of break with parents around, did you watch Heroes yet, what did you think of ending??! BTW the chilli choc was divine

Festive - good luck with packing and move

Anyone meeting this week?

SJ99 · 10/12/2007 21:41

Meant to add, SFX - glad you had support at your appointment, hope you enjoyed the choc too

sfxmum · 10/12/2007 22:11

evening all I am fine thanks, usual caveats and all that.
am quite tired as dd was quite restless last night and we were up earlier than usual. she told me today she had 'ringing in her hear and sort of like a hurt' so gave her some Calpol and hope she settles and feels better in the morning.

SJ sounds great glad you had a lovely time.

spicy chocolate is indeed divine

hope you all have a good night

ps - KC mince pies yum yum never too ill imo

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 22:26

hi sj, glad you had a good time, sounds lovely! Yes, I did watch the end of Heroes, was a bit disappointed really, thought it was a bit of an anti-climax. But I will still watch the next series!

Am still not convinced by chilli chocolate!!

Btw, if anyone is free tomorrow then there is a Winter Wonderland thing going on at St Mary'sin Ealing. It's on 2-5pm.

festivevillas · 11/12/2007 08:14

Me neither re: the chilli choc, have serious doubts DH has been sent a gift by a friend who he did some work for of some wonderful choccies, biccies and cake - and he has headed off to work and left it in the kitchen ... temptation ...

Sorry again, folks, not to be offering up chez festive for a meet-up this week - but it's hideous here at the moment with boxes and general mess! And would have loved to do the St Marys crimbo thing but fear I have far too much to sort out here

Paddlechick666 · 11/12/2007 09:06

morning all

sfx, glad things went okay and you had your sister with you.

now i wasn't sure about chilli choc until i had the cheesecake at wagamama with a bit of chilli in the toffee sauce - very very nice!

ros, we might be around this arvo. bit mental still here and dd has a play session at pre-school this morning and there is some more i need to collect from the old house so pretty busy today.

kew, hope you're feeling better today.

think we could be up for saturday late kew visit. am hoping that my friends will be here this weekend but depends on if their ds develops the pox.

for those of you who met my 2 pg friends at dd's birthday party, one has had her ds on saturday (1 day overdue) and her labour was 46mins!

the other is due today and haven't heard anything yet.

foxie, am WFH tomorrow if you wanted to pick up that walker. otherwise could sort something over the weekend.

foxcubinapeartree · 11/12/2007 09:23

Hiya

Kew - yes that wouldbe great if you could send your Sis's e-mail. He's got nothing to lose by viewing the room has he? I've a feeling party boy won't hang around that long as I cramp his style a bit

Rose that St Mary's event looks good but I am in work today . Does anyone remember the crime that took place at that church about 20 years ago? I knew one of the two men who got convicted of it

Rose - a swimming question for you....the Fountain pool in Brentford - is it all one depth? I am looking for a pool to practice in which has no deep end. The one next to work is one depth but its too far to travel on the days I am not in work. When I am a bit more confident do you fancy coming swimming with me sometimes?

foxcubinapeartree · 11/12/2007 09:26

Paddle - tomorrow is a bit tricky as I have to rush back for cleaner and have 4 school runs

Sunday would be fabby though if you are around. On Saturday I have to wait in 7am-3pm for a mega Santa Argos delivery. We then have a Street Christmas thing and then I am actually going to a grown up parrrrtttaaayy!!

We have a bog Street party next year so I will invite you all

foxcubinapeartree · 11/12/2007 09:27

Big not Bog

sfxmum · 11/12/2007 09:40

morning all

'mummy my big toe hurts I think I need much more medicine to take the hurt away'
paddle I think we have a problem!

Foxie I used to work in Hanwell / Ealing for years so well acquainted with local churches & stories St Mary's always does good events involving all the community.

re Chilli& chocolate it is a great combination chocolate in any sort of chilli is the thing to do for colour and taste

Festive temptation indeed

no idea what will do today am still full of cold/ cough and not much energy so we will see.

Ros the end of Heroes was disappointing and from what I hear the start of the second series has been slow too with loads more characters etc. have not been downloading as I don't really have time for it now.
still lovely group of pretty people bar the big brother who is a freak

sfxmum · 11/12/2007 09:56

paddle I take it that the super speedy labour is not for the first timer? if so double
but congratulations to her it is lovely

ComeOVenReadyturkey · 11/12/2007 09:57

Morning all. LOL at "bog" party, did wonder exactly what that involved . I am thoroughly cleaning the house today in preparation for the visitors for christmas. Need to buy some new sheets and towels for the guest beds. We now have my mum and dad staying 4 days and MIL, FIL and MIL's mother staying for 2 nights, so dd and ds are now in blow up beds in dh's study for 2 nights so mil's mother can have ds's bed, my parents have dd's bedroom and the IL's plus dogs have the sofa bed in the playroom. SO that is now 7 adults 2 children 2 dogs and 2 cats! AAARRRGGGHH. Why on earth did I not take up my mother's invitation to go to her house for christmas as usual?

SushiMummy · 11/12/2007 11:02

Am fuming. Had a letter from the council telling us off about replacing the front window without permission (conservation area) and the window was not in line with the Victorian style (wtf?) and we need to replace it with a correct one asap. First of all, we have NOT changed our windows since we moved in (1993) and secondly some local person told the council this lie!!! We now have to provide some photo or something to proof that we haven't replaced it.

Hi Ros! my DS is 26 mo. LOL at your DS thinking FC as statue!

rosmerta · 11/12/2007 11:26

at your letter Sushi, hope you get it sorted quickly.

Foxie - the swimming pool (the fitness one) is all one depth and is shallow so you would be fine! & yes, I would come along with you, its always nice to go swimming with someone.

We'll be at the fair thingy this afternoon but am free to meet up later this week if anyone's around?

Sfx, I've not heard anything about the 2nd series yet, and still will probably watch it though think it should've just ended with this one!

SJ99 · 11/12/2007 12:55

Hello all

Not surprised your fuming at letter Sushi, how strange, hope you get it sorted

Ros event soudns good but we will pass as we had an unexpected Xmas party today at playgroup and I now have an overly stimulated toddler on my hands refusing to sleep! We just went as normal but they ahd laid out tables and chairs and loads of food for the LO's which was really nice & DS got a little present when we left.

I agree Heroes ending was bit flat I thought after all that build up and a few things didn't stack up

COV - hope all goes well with your guests sounds like you've definitely got your hands full, hope you have some festive liquid spirits to help you through it

Paddle - tell your mate congrats on speedy birth, was it your french friend?

SJ99 · 11/12/2007 13:08

Can't make it to Kew on Sat as we're going to DH work's xmas party. Will try and persuade him to go on Fri night instead but depends what time he gets back from Bristol...
Otherwise am free to meet later in week with DC
