erm, not sure if this will work but have started a thread in the interests of currying favour with MNHQ!

Paddle my swim was as successful as my card-giving... got teh times wrong childrens swimming stops at 2 on a Sunday! Luckily DS is still young enough ot be fobbed off with a visit to Granny's instead!

rosmerta · 09/12/2007 20:41

Bunyan, ds likes Childsplay & I don't mind it, only problem is all the different rooms as he runs around them all so I can't sit down & have a cup of tea!

Paddle, got a bit of a break. My mum & I did take ds to see Santa at Syon Gardens and he freaked out completely! Just screamed his head off and wouldn't go near him. Needless to say, we got our money b

rosmerta · 09/12/2007 20:41

oops, that was supposed to be we got our money back!

foxcubinapeartree · 09/12/2007 21:17

Hiya

Glad everyone seems well

Quokka yes do point your friend in our direction Any friend of Quokka's is a friend of ours!

Kew - Your guy sounds great. My lodger has improved immensely so am reluctant to just make hime homeless but saying that I don't think he weill stick around for long, as I think our lifestyles are incompatable. he's having to fit in with ours now but I guess will look for somewhere with people his own age.

How quickly does your friend want a room and (here's the pragmatic bit) is he willing to pay rent for the whole week if he is only there 3 days? He's very willing to pop round and view the room and the he and I can "think about it" and see if party boy moves out. It would probably be after Christmas though now, as it would be hard for him to find somewhere this time of year.

Paddle can we come and see your new place? Sorry I didn't get your post about the walker until now.

Cannot wait until I can swim properly - Rose if your DS can do it then so can I!

foxcubinapeartree · 09/12/2007 21:18

..."welcome" not "willing"

mellow2 · 10/12/2007 08:19

Hello everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I have manage to skim through the thread briefly.

Congrats to those who are preggers!

Paddle, glad you're finally in your new home.

Quoks, Baby Bliss sounds great. Glad you're enjoying it.

Work is not so manic anymore as the site is launching this Wednesday.

Anyone up for meeting up next week?

SushiMummy · 10/12/2007 09:49

Morning all. Hi Mellow!

Festive - yes, that was him with his model wife and two kids. I really like the place (much better than S&L and Lollipop imo) but as you pointed out, it's v dear. Suppose you can go early to play there and the class to follow to make the money worth. Am still pondering. We've been to Childsplay once and it was OK but v busy (Saturday).

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 09:55

bugger - am sick. Literally. Spend two hours throwing up last night until 2.30am and tyhen had to get up at 6.30am . Have stopped throwing up but I feel like Ricky Hatton this morning.

Paddlechick666 · 10/12/2007 10:04

kew, please tell me you haven't gone to work? go home immediately if you have!

how is ds? any signs?

selfishly hoping we don't get it in Paddle House!

dd slept quite well last night. woke about 4:30ish and had a little drink but was really only half awake. slept till 7:15am when i had to wake her! worked well for me as I've had to come to the office today and needed to make myself presentable.

hi mellow, good to see you.

waves to everyone else

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 10:22

yes am in work - too busy with move not to but will probably come home early. DS is fine - I suspect food poisoning ratehr than a bug as once I'd chucked the entire contents of my stomach it stopped (though still fgeel a bit crap - not that bad).

How was your journey dropping DD off then going in?

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 10:23

happy birthday mellow [sickly grin emoticon]

SushiMummy · 10/12/2007 10:30

Oh dear, Kew. Sounds horrid. Take it easy. Hope you get better soon.

Happy birthday, Mellow.

foxcubinapeartree · 10/12/2007 11:45

Is it Mellow's birthday? How do you know, as she didn't mention it?

Kew - look after yourself - hopefully it is food poisening.

Padle how are you settling in?

DD had her 2nd nativity play this morning. She played a "Wise person" and I was very proud of her. She loves doing all the hand movements when she sings the songs and is very confident on stage

Did masses of Christmas prep over the weekend (phew)

My sister and I are buying each other ethical presents - donations towards some water sanitation in a developing country so children can drink clean water.

Is anyone going to any Christingle masses?

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 11:55

because I know everything.

ComeOVenReadyturkey · 10/12/2007 13:09

HAppy birthday mellow. I have a stonking head ache today, courtesy of too much wine last night in an attempt to calm down over MIL's behaviour yesterday afternoon. See here.

I sent dh away for the weekend to stay with his parents because he is so tired and stressed atm that I thought he needed a break from the children, early mornings etc. Trouble is a weekend of dealing with the children by myself has left me exhausted. Makes me appreciate how hard it is for you single mums, who have to do it day in day out. They also seem to have left a trail of devastation all through the house so have spent this morning returning it to normal.

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 13:12

ah but Cov you have to develop lower standards if you're going it alone. And you do put coping mechanisms in place to ensure you're not cooped up for the whole weekend at their mercy.

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 13:15

hi all, Kew sorry you're sick, hope it clears up soon.

Hi Mellow [waves], I did see your dd at the library last week! She looks so cute and has grown so much!

Quokka, glad the business is going well, sounds great!

Foxie, yes, I think we will be going to an xmas mass at some point.

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 13:16

And COV, just seen your other thread

ComeOVenReadyturkey · 10/12/2007 13:18

We did go out a bit, but it was such foul weather. The main problem was they got up at 5.45am on Sat and 6.20am on Sunday. Lack of sleep is always my downfall. Plus I had tidied the house of Friday and they just trashed it, toys and mess everywhere. And we all know how anal I am.

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 13:42

anyone fancy Kew next Saturday teatime? www.kew.org/events/winter-2007/late-nights/index.html thoguht it might be pretty with all the lights, take some tea and give DC's a late night pass say 5 to 7.30pm?

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 13:48

I'll probably be up for that Kew, dh has his xmas party Friday night so will be no use whatsoever!! Only thing is my pass has expired, any chance of a guest pass? Pretty pretty please [begging face & bowl]

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 13:54

I have a cheapy pass so no guest passes but I might have some old guest passes (from a richer time!) which you would use with someonewho has full membership card.

rosmerta · 10/12/2007 13:56

Actually, I do have some passes left so that would work!

SushiMummy · 10/12/2007 14:50

Kew - I think we'll be there, too. DS hasn't seen Father Christmas, yet. It'd be interesting to see his reaction. How are you feeling now?

bahKewcHumbug · 10/12/2007 14:52

I feel crap but not throwing up and kept down sandwich at lunchtime so obviously not that ill, just tired and slightly nauseous.
