When do you go back to work mine? Not to soon I hope!
Enjoy your day with your cousin and the twinnies.

Mine · 12/03/2008 13:31

unfortunately i go back in september.... i really ought to go back in june for financial reasons, but i'm talked dh round to sept!!
That gives me one whole year with ds.

How is everybody????

Vicky31 · 13/03/2008 11:58

How was lunch with the twins? I can't imagine having more than one. What a nightmare!
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Jello39 · 13/03/2008 12:56

Hi,

hope when my lo comes along he will be as good as yours when gong out Mine. nice one on the weight loss!!

Like that tip on the sling, for the underground rather than a buggy, not bought one yet but would like to so might get some tips tomorrow. see you all there.

Mine · 13/03/2008 13:57

hey folks... looking forward to tomorrow.
Lunch with the twins was great. They are only 9 weeks old and are very well behaved. Ds wasn't too bad either considering we're going through a tough teething phase. He's been ok until now..... all he does is whinge!!

I took him out today to Willows farm in St Albans..... ok, ok, it was more for me than him, but i loved the animals. He kept lowing raspberries at them!!

They had a soft play area too. i took him in for his first play time..... think he was a bit miffed at it all really... seemed more interested with the air con unit at first, then noticed all the primary colours!!

Am pooped now.. really could do with a nap myself .

Harri1 · 13/03/2008 14:59

Thats so brave - bit scared of lo and soft play!!!
Apparently topsy turvey world in brent cross has a baby soft play area, not been myself but heard good reports.
My dd is doing some whingy teeting too found some tommee teepee soothing teether dummys which help, she can keep them in her mouth herself which is useful cos they are so little they can't hold teething rings themselves yet

Mine · 13/03/2008 18:23

luckily the soft play area was completely empty so no 'hazzards'!
ds can;t sit up on his own yet so i had to get in there and hold him and play..... any excuse for me to play really!!

Where did you get the teething dummy from Harri??
I can;t seemed to find them......

Harri1 · 13/03/2008 18:52

My dd can't sit up yet either but if you can get in then it sounds a bit better to me and as you say any excuse!!
I got the teethers from morrisons palmers green £4.99 for 2 bit expensive but worth it they are hard and curved you can sterilise them any way and put them in the fridge, you cab even put a coating of gel on them too. A godsend!
I sound like an adver don't I?

Mine · 13/03/2008 19:00

thanks Harri, I'm definitely going to pop into Morrisons tomorrow

Mine · 14/03/2008 10:42

see you at starbucks ladies!!

panache · 14/03/2008 15:05

hello All,

How's the week been for you all?

Just checked the time, you're all in Starbucks having coffee whilst I'm at work.

Mine, I love Willow Farm, you were brave to go with the weather being so unpredictable. I'm waiting until the end of April before I take my DD, in the hope the weather improves.

I've never been to Topsy Turvey World, but some friends went during half term. They said it was chaos. I went to Sporty's at Southbury leisure centre during half term and it was just as bad. It's nice and quiet during term time though, and they are not so strict about the 2 hours of play rule.

Mine · 14/03/2008 19:17

hey ladies
great to see you all and your gorgeous lo's.
Jello - hope we didn't frighten you too much with our terrible tales!!

Panache - shame you were working...... poo hiss to work

Harri1 · 15/03/2008 09:46

Hi ladies

x

Vicky31 · 17/03/2008 11:34

Hi Ladies
Hope you and your sproglets are all ok today. It was lovely to meet up on Friday - nice to have a bit of baby chat sometimes.

Amy, I didn't go to NCT or any antenatal classes as I didn't really think it would be my kind of thing. I have a friend who did NCT and has quite a good social life with the mums she met. Not long left at work for you... I bet you're looking forward to putting your feet up for a bit?

Jackie/Jello - any signs of baby yet? I'm glad we made you feel better and not worse about the whole baby adventure.

My mum has the baby and I'm off out to play now with a friend. Yay!!!!

Mine · 17/03/2008 18:12

Hi amy
I went to antinatal classes... they were ok, but most of what they talk about i read in books, nice to go though if you have any questions as they are run by midwives..... mostly those that do the NCT classes so you get free advice!

We didn;t join NCT as there wasn;t any room for us in the local group, plus is was a bit pricey for me..... spent the money on the baby instead!

I've had friends who have signed up for NCT classes and have made a good network of mummy friends, so it seems to be good for some i guess.

How's the pregnancy going????

Hey Jello, Harri and vicky..... whats new with you guys...??

Smartiehouse · 18/03/2008 12:55

Hello Everyone

I have just joined Mumsnet - what fun!

Its good to hear a few of you are meeting up, do let me know if you are planning to again. Maybe I could come along with my lo.

Mine · 18/03/2008 18:25

hello smartiehouse!!

We should be meeting up again soon, so you're welcome to come along.

How old is your little mite???

Vicky31 · 18/03/2008 21:56

Hi ladies
Got my latest Bounty freebie bag today. I know it's full of junk but I love a freebie Also went out and bought a Bumbo baby chair. Ds looks so funny in it.
Are you all looking forward to having some time with your men over Easter? I love it when mine is home to help out with the baby (since I threw a little tantrum and he does a bit more )

Mine · 18/03/2008 22:30

we have a Bumbo too... Eren looks hillarious in his!!
In fact the nappy almost prevents him from fitting in it all.. i have to almost wedge my jumbo baby into the bloomin thing!!

We had a 'date night' tonight with dh.... went to an italian restaurant in Winchmore Hill.... ate too many carbs, am now falling asleeeepppppp zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Whats everyone doing for Easter...??
We're off to mil for easter sunday.. she's a great cook so am really looking forward to it.

Harri1 · 19/03/2008 08:31

Hi all,
Mine date night what a great idea a good excuse to spend time with dh and have a nice meal i like it.
Vicky- am looking forward to having a long weekend with dh and dd loves having daddy around too.

we are off to wales to visit my folks can't wait first visit with dd she will be so spoiled by all those cuddles!!!

Enjoy your weekends and lets get together next week?

Smartiehouse · 19/03/2008 09:32

Hey all

DD is 13mo and a bit of a madam at the mo. Joined Mumsnet for some light relief and moral support!!

Really looking forward to the long weekend - Easter is great 2 Saturdays followed by 2 Sundays! Dd loves Dh a proper Daddy's girl so I might get a bit of respite. We are off to my Mums so will get some tlc and dd will have lots of different faces to look at rather than mine all the time!

Jello39 · 19/03/2008 21:28

Hi everyone,

been a bit busy and we also lost Cable/broadband access over the weekend and yesterday as well.

nothing yet, head still not engaged, although he is due next Friday. LO is still rocking and rolling, I think he is quite enjoying himself in there. DH still hoping it will turn up for Easter!!!

hi smartiehouse - welcome to the group.

We went to private evening ante-natal clases, NHS ones were afternoon and DH would have had to take a half day's leave to attend and the NCT Classes sounded a little bit stuffy although I know people have made some good friends from joining NCT.

went sling shopping with Mum today and finally decided on a Hug A Bub,I've been told to practice putting it on using a bag of sugar and a pair of old tights!

Happy Easter everyone and hope we get to meet up again soon.

Mine · 20/03/2008 10:19

morning folks

Easter is creeping up!! I'd say hurrah but as dh works shifts it really doesn/t change anything for us....and as i'm not working i don;t even know what day it is most of the time

Finding it hard not to eat all the easter eggs i can so easily get my hands on in Thorntons!!

DS has a cold.... his second one now which is a shame but its because i have to pick up my 5 year old cousin from school and they make us wait outside in this cold weather for 15mins before they open the bloomin school gates so he's caught a chill.

We're having dh cousins over for a sushi night tomorrow so must pop out and buy sushi stuff.... hope ds isn;t too grumpy by then.

Jello..... hope you pop soon!!!! Can;t wait for you!! I miss being pregnant to some extent.....

Have fun in Wales Harri. Make sure they spoil Erin and give you some TLC too.

How is everyone else??
Meet up soon?? Maybe somewhere we can much too...
