Hi everyone...happy Easter. Apparently today is the first day of spring!
How about a meet up on Thursday or Friday next week? Food would be nice
Ds is home today so I've had a nice sleep and a long long shower. Bliss.
Luc is teething and has gone back to waking a few times in the night, just as he was starting to sleep through.
Mine - sushi is very healthy so you can have some chocolate too!
Jello/amyaustin, hope you pregnant ladies are doing ok. Oooh I loved my big rounded belly - now it's just wobbly

Mine · 20/03/2008 16:28

What's a lie in ????!!!!
Not fair.. wish i could have one too.

poor Luc...... growing new teeth is hard work for them and us.

Eren is also teething, but has just caught a cold so is battling both demons at the mo!
He was up most of last night.

Next Friday suits me for lunch or coffee and snack.

Vicky31 · 20/03/2008 17:20

Well I hope you get a better nights sleep tonight then. I haven't had baby with a cold experience yet but I imagine it's not very nice.

I've reached that point of the day where I'm just pushing on through till Luc's bed time and then I'll have my wine, garlic bread and pasta reward. Can't wait.

Any one else for Friday??

Harri1 · 20/03/2008 19:36

Hi all,
Poor luc- teething is horrid, lots of cuddles methinks
ANd poor Eren too they feel so miserable with colds and can't do anythng to help themselves.
Jello/ amyaustin hope the last few days go well make the most of those lovely bumps I still miss mine somedays even though I have a dd now.
and welcome smartiehouse
Meet up for lunch sounds good next friday ladies,
I'll be offline until tuesday so let me know what the plan is have a lovely easter everyone

Mine · 20/03/2008 21:07

did you make it Vicki?????

Vicky31 · 21/03/2008 10:29

I did make it

Dh did the last feed last night and then Luc took a long time to settle and he kept having to go into him (I was oblivious to all this in my lovely bed). Honestly, you'd think he was the only person in the world who had ever had a sleepless night! I think us mums just get on with it without complaining.

I think I'm going to go and buy some shoes today. Ooooh I feel all happy just thinking about it. I've been slopping around in trainers and maternity wear for the past four months - I've even taken to wearing a dingy old fleece that I only ever wear if I go camping. I'm determined to sort my wardrobe out this weekend and try to be a bit more of a yummy mummy..... we shall see

Mine · 21/03/2008 12:29

ohh shopping !! One of my very favourite things!!
Where'dya go??
What'dya buy??

I too am in need of a yummy mummy wardrobe, but think i'll stick it out more and see how much further i can go with my current drab clothes before i drop a dress size or two on WW.

Went to tesco this morning to buy stuff for my sushi dinner party tonight... you'd think all the food was going for free. What is wrong with people....?

Is it just me or do people just think that a baby in the trolly is damage proof so still smash into you like a bumper car???!!

Breath.... Breath... think happy food thoughts......

Mine · 21/03/2008 14:58

ok the last 3 hours or so have been hell.... Eren has a cold and just seems to want to cry all the time.

Gave him calpol but seems to have taken ages to kick in.
He just dropped off to sleep...... bet he gets up in 20mins

I'm popped. Just want to curl up unde my duvet and forget about everything.
Really finding it hard now with mum gone and dh doing long shifts.
I'm sure it'll all be fine, but i'm just so tired....

Vicky31 · 22/03/2008 14:07

Hey Mine
I didn't log on again yesterday or I would have tried to offer a bit of moral support. Did Eren settle in the end? How are you both today?

It's horrible when they cry so much that you get really stressed and just end up crying along with them. My worst night was a few weeks after Luc was born and Oli went out for the evening to his brother's birthday do. Luc cried practically the whole time he was gone and I ended up on the phone to dh in tears quite hysterical. It's funny how you don't think of these bits when you're imagining what life will be like with a lovely little baby.

Just as well they're so damn cute when they're not crying!

Right, I'm off to the shops now. Didn't get round to it yesterday.

How did the sushi party go? I hope you got enough rest and managed to enjoy yourself.

Mine · 22/03/2008 14:37

Hey vicki
glad i'm not the only one that breaks down when lo's cry all the time!

Eren settled down to an early bedtime last night just before people arrived for dinner. On one hand it was a shame he couldn't hold out to see them as he has changed so much since they last saw him, but on the other hand i was sooo very grateful he finally fell asleep.

Just a thought.... i rubbed some Dentinox on his gums yesterday thinking it might help, but he just licked and swallowed it straight away...... hows the bloody thing supposed to work if its just sitting in his stomach......??

Sushi night went down very well. Made salmon and prawn sushi rolls, muscles in garlic sauce, chicken satay and noodles..... was quite impressed with myself!!
Problem was by the time it came down to eating it, i lost my appetite!!

Eren has been quite settled today. DH working till 5pm, same again tomorrow. Spoke to mum on the phone, she's having a great time, but i still really miss her.
I sound sooo soppy!!!

Anyway, how are you??
What did you buy??!!
Sadly i'm excited for you! I love shopping.

Vicky31 · 23/03/2008 10:38

Morning,
Snow!!! I love it

I bought some lovely wedge sandals, a green summery dress, a nice top (longer to hide my wobbly tum) and a t shirt. I love summery clothes and can never quite get around to buying jumpers and sensible stuff. I must remember that I don't have a job anymore.... but my new stuff makes me so happy. Having my hair done on Tuesday for extra increased happiness.

We went to the in laws for dinner last night as they've been away and haven't seen Luc for a while. Half way through the evening he had the most appalling screaming fit - I think from his teething pain - and was really hard to settle. Typically my mother in law didn't think Luc was dressed warmly enough

I have some Calgel to rub on Luc's gums, but as you say, they just eat it. I love the taste of Bonjela myself. He's being difficult to feed, pulling off the bottle and then straight away crying for it again. Little love

Mine · 23/03/2008 13:17

wow sounds like a very successful shopping day!!
Love buying summer stuff too..... not sure how long you may have to wait to wear it though considering its snowing in MARCH!!

Whats that all about?!!! Just crazy.

Spoke to my mum in Turkey this morning, she was gloating about the weather being 26 C...... cow

lol at your mil..... she sounds like hard work!

I haven't been up to much, mooched at home with Eren, then watched wabbish tv with ds after he went to bed.

my mil is popping over tonight, which is nice as she's lovely. Dotes on Eren and gives me a bit of adult time.

Defo going out tomorrow as the cabin fever is starting to set in... might take a leaf out of your book vicky and buy myself something fabulous.

Wonder how Harri is getting on in Wales and if Jello has had an Easter baby!!!

Vicky31 · 23/03/2008 16:52

Hmmmm, Eater baby. Maybe it will come out with a chocolate egg

Jello39 · 25/03/2008 00:54

Hi Everyone,
i'm back, busy with Easter and the family, still preggers. I've been having Braxs Hicks (well I hope they are) every day since Good Friday so hoping its a good sign of impending labour. DH would have loved an Easter baby but no such luck.

feeling very large but doing lots of housework. cleaning everything in sight.

Hang on in their Mine, defo go out and treat yourself, will make you feel better.

I have all that teething to come, not sure looking forward to that.

Went to MIL who has inundated us with bread and fruit loaves. DH can never tell her that we dont eat that my bread so we end up taking home and then throwing away. He never seems to be able to stand up to her.
Anyone else have a dh like that?

Will take it easy this week, catching up on my Cold Feet collection which I bought for my maternity leave but not even watched one episode yet.

If I still have bump on board will join you guys for lunch or whatever, after my ante natal appointment.

Vicky31 · 25/03/2008 10:19

Hi Jello
Glad to hear you're doing ok. I have to say that the cleaning bug never bit me when pregnant, so no change there then.

My MIL is coming over later to see the baby while I go and have a hair cut. She can be a bit of a nightmare at times but dh really stood up to her last year when she was trying to take over our wedding and invite all her friends and she's been much better ever since. I know she'd love to boss me about and tell me how to look after Luc, but I think she doesn't dare any more incase we don't take him to visit so often. I really have to have a bit of a clean before she comes round though - she's a complete cleaning nut, like Monica from Friends.

Mine - are you surviving? Did you shop?

Harri1 · 25/03/2008 13:01

Hi ladies am back from wales. Had a lovely weekend my mum loved seeing dd and she was a star, behaved and flirted her way with gummy smiles through all our visits.
She was even a star in the car for 5 hours booooo! Stopped twice to give her a break but still.
Mine- is Eren feeling better now? It's so wearing when they cry and you can't do anything too really soothe them. Retail therapy is the way!
Vicky- shopping trip sounds great and a new hair do too- lucky you you'll feel lke a new woman.
Still holding on jello- keep going I got the crazy cleaning bug too- nesting I loved it I even cleaned the garage!!!!!!
What's the plan for friday ladies do let us know
Hope you are all ok today

Mine · 25/03/2008 15:11

hi folks

Jello... whats the deal...`??!!!! you've got to do something to get the labour going!!
We need a newborn to oohh and ahhh over now that our lo's are big!

So where would you all like to meet on friday?
I'm easy.

Vicky31 · 25/03/2008 18:13

I'm easy for Friday too - somewhere with pushchair space that has some nice little foody bits. I'll try to rack my brains (what is left of them now).

Honestly, my MIL. Before I had Luc in a routine she went on and on about babies needing routine. Now that I have one she never sticks to it when she looks after him and then it's us who have the sleepless nights coz he's all mixed up. Grrrr!

Sounds like you had a nice weekend Harri. I haven't done a long car journey yet with Luc but we're going to see friends who are about 1 1/2 hour drive this weekend so I hope he sleeps. Driving with a crying baby is one of the most stressful things I've encountered.

Harri1 · 25/03/2008 21:15

If DH is going with you vicky I would def advise sitting in the back with luc then you can enterain hime if he wakes. DD slept fo 1st 2 1/2 hours then we stopped and fed, then I sat with her. She did sleep on and off then but for and hour and 1/2 journey he should be ok. We regularly do 1 hour and shes fine.
I'm fine for friday too but agree we need plenty of buggyspace don't really know where to suggest am happy to go with the flow as you seem to know enfield better than me.

Mine · 26/03/2008 15:05

hi folks

can;t think of a restaurant/coffee shop with enough room for our buggies!!
But had an idea..... do you fancy going to soft play..??
Suitable for babies of course.

We can play with lo's, have coffee/snacks too.
I have found...
The Ark - in Edmonton. free entry. Suitable for our age babies. Open 10am till 3pm, fridays till 1pm.

Clown Town [ Palmers Green] - free entry for babies under 1. Open all day 7 days a week.

Tumble tots- our lo's are too small to attend

All other suggestions welcome!!!

Mine · 26/03/2008 16:54

ladies i just found this site and thought it might be useful for some of you.... www.netmums.com

You type in your postcode and it gives you all baby/mummy things in your local area.

Vicky31 · 26/03/2008 18:30

Hi Mine
That sounds good. Either one is fine by me.
Otherwise Cafe Uno in Enfield might have room as it never seems to be too busy (that could be a bad sign of course).
Going to look at netmums now.

Vicky31 · 26/03/2008 18:48

What a fab site!

Harri1 · 27/03/2008 11:21

Shall we try clown town in palmers green? and if it's no good there's a starbucks acroiss the road and a nice independent sandwich bar de niros which isnice too

Jello39 · 27/03/2008 12:20

Hi Girls,

bump still on board, I'm going to try the curry alternative tonights. Had tonnes of pineapple for breakfast this morning and really concentrated on my yoga class so hopefully he is getting the message.

glad to see you are all enjoying yourselves.

had my friends over on Mon and Wed who I hadnt seen since before Xmas, they all work so hard so it was nice to catch up with them.

Went shopping down Oxford Street, as I've managed to break our phone, our kettle and digi picture frame in one week, had a nice voucher from Debenhams so used that and also popped in to work. So many new faces in our dept and the office layout has changed. They all seemed to miss me so felt better for that.

Will keep you up to date on the baby front.

will see what happens tomorrow!!!
