Happy Valentines all,

had our first evening out just the 2 of us yesterday. went to Cafe Anjou in Green Lanes, had a lovely meal. poor DH was yawning though by 8pm and we were both ready for bed by 9pm but had to go and collect Aaron from my parents. Though in the end we were there until 11.30pm and Aaron was as bright as a button while we were both wilting.

see you all soon.

Vicky31 · 17/02/2009 18:54

We had a good night in with some easy 'bung in the oven' food from M&S.

Congrats Jello on your first night out as a couple. Plan more!

Mine · 21/02/2009 19:42

hello lovely ladies!!

How is everyone??

We;ve had our first BBQ of the year!! It was yummy. I made my own hummus too which was messy, but definitely worth it.

Anyone fancy meeting up next week.....??

Only day i can;t really do is wednesday.

Mine · 24/02/2009 15:25

Do you guys know of any decent playgroups in Enfield...??

Jello39 · 24/02/2009 23:21

Hi all,

busy at work and sorting out nursery. lo will be off to Salcombe at the Green and also trying to sort out our holiday, we are off next week to Liverpool and Sheffield. As usual I always leave until last minute to book.
not sure if I will make Thu, trying not to go into work if possible. If I can I will come. Jaxs.

Vicky31 · 25/02/2009 18:08

3pm is good for me. HOpefully we'll get a bit of time before the after school rush. See you tomorrow.

Have a look at your local Netmums site for playgroups - they tend to have lots of listings for those sorts of things.

Mine · 25/02/2009 21:32

3pm at the firehouse play centre it is Vicky!!

Jello/Harri - we will all get in the same room again i hope.... we miss you guys!!

How's the childcare search going jello?? Find anything you like?
I found a nursery in Ponders End that was looking to charge £67 a day Am i being naive in thinking this is extortion..... that works out over £1300 a month....

I was amazing though

Jello39 · 25/02/2009 23:08

Hi Mine,

We are paying £70 a day for Aaron to be at Salcombe, I would have thought Ponders End would have been cheaper.
You need a second mortgage. He is only going twice a week, Mum will look after him 2 days a week then I work 1 day from home. poor DH will now have to get up early to look after him and will take him to nursery, that's the end of his lie-ins for the future!!!

Mine · 07/03/2009 19:30

helloo ladies (waves!!)

Where is everyone..????

I hope you guys have been up to more interesting things than i have.

Not much happening here except Eren is not very well... he has 6 teeth coming through at the same time, 2 of which are molars so he has been off food, has diarrhea and is waking at 5.30 am EVERY GOD DAMN DAY

Otherwise, he's fine.. trying to talk more and express himself. He just makes me giggle everyday

I got an interview for a job i applied for over a month ago so hopefully that will lead to some good news.

How is everyone else...??

Vicky31 · 12/03/2009 18:43

Hey Mine
Hope things have got better re the morning wake up since you posted. We are also in teething hell so you're not alone.

When's your job interview?

I've had a hellish day. For the first time ever I resorted to driving Luc in the car to make him sleep. I've put him to bed early and am having a glass of wine and a bit of a surf. Oli can help me tidy the house of toys when he gets home - the place looks like a bomb has hit it.

I'm feeling in need of a little weekend break but the cheap and toddler friendly places are just not doing it for me (and yet are all I'd be able to have). What I really want is a swanky hotel with a spa and a lovely restaurant.

I really have nothing interesting to tell you about.

I wonder how Harri and Jello are getting on....?

Jello39 · 16/03/2009 12:53

Hi all,
what a lovely day! wish I could enjoy but busy getting up to speed on my work e-mails.

Enjoyed our time in Liverpool. Me and DH realised there that our couples holidays are well and truly over for the next few years. Missed being able to lie in and just being able to hang out late int the evenings. As we only had 1 room once Aaron asleep we had to keep the lights off and TV low and whisper for the rest of the night.

Also going through the teething hell. Next set of 4 are coming through now all at the same time. He's suddenly started waking at 6am since we got back from Liverpool which is really tiring us out especially as not wanting to go to bed until late at night. Need to get a new routine going, urgent..

Vicky - i really know what you mean, felt so depressed and tired yesterday. could do with the same myself. hey we should book ourselves a spa weekend and leaave the dh's to look after all the lo's.

Mine - good luck on the interview.

Aaron is practising standing up all the time, guess this is a precursor to walking??? Our last week together before I'm back in office and he is off to nursery, really dreading it now, just pulls at my heart strings.

Harri1 · 16/03/2009 20:09

Hi all,
How is everyone doing?

Sorry been out of action for while just busy thats all,

Mine · 26/03/2009 16:27

hello ladies....

how is everyone??

Anybody fancy meeting up next week...??

x

Vicky31 · 31/03/2009 16:17

Hi Ladies

I've been meaning to post for ages but whenever I log onto MN I always get sucked into the 'am I being unreasonable' bitch fests. Anyway, how are you all?

All is good here. Luc has a few more teeth so we've had some early mornings but things seem to be improving now. I've been out today and bought him a little toy pushchair (a blue one - which isn't an easy thing to find) and he's happily pushing Makka Pakka around the house. I'm sure when my dad hears about it he'll think I've got him playing with 'girls toys'. Grrr!

Mine, I see on Facebook you've had a rip off day out. Where did you go? I took Luc to a horse rescue centre in Nazeing yesterday which was free and a nice way to pass an hour. He was happy waving to the horses and running around. Another place we often go is Van Hages in Ware. Once you've had a go on the little steam train, played in the playhouses they sell and walked round the animal bit you've had a whole afternoon out (but it only works out cheap if you don't succumb to the stuff they sell).

Jax, thanks for the party invite. We're having lunch with the MIL that day(she's been in France for the past month) but if we can get away in time we'll try to pop in. I can't believe Aaron will be one.

It's supposed to be nice weather this week. How about a walk in the park/feed ducks/play on swings get together? I'm free anytime except Friday morning.

Vx

Mine · 31/03/2009 20:18

Hi Vicky, park/ducks/swings sounds great.

I can do Thursday afternoon ......??
Which park did you have in mind?

I've got a real bee in my bonnet at the moment about 'things to do with your toddler' or any kind of 'family' day out. Its all soooo expensive. I just can't justify a local zoo ticket of £6.50 to see a few rabbits, sheep and watch someone milk a cow!!

And then there is Willows Farm..... almost £12

Well, thats just the tip of the iceberg.

I do lots of free things or reasonable priced things with Eren.. parks, soft play, but with the spring weather i thought it would be nice to do more outdoor stuff.

Anyway - rant over

Vicky31 · 01/04/2009 10:21

What time Thursday suits you?

In Cheshunt we have a lovely park with no playground, or a rubbishy park with a good playground. Is there anywhere near to you?

Mine · 01/04/2009 11:14

Eren loves the playground... big fan of swings!
So maybe the rubbish park, but nice playground ....??

I sometimes take Eren to the one in Enfield Town, or the one near Bonnygrove primary school in cheshunt.. usually after i've been shopping in brookfield farm . Thats tiny, but it gives him his fix. Not somewhere you can spend a lot of time in to be honest.

Mine · 01/04/2009 11:15

sorry... forgot to say, i'm not sure how Luc's lunchtime schedule goes but i can be there for about 2.30pm...??

We're usually done for lunch by then.
