Wow we filled the thread guys. So as I was about to Say UR you've probably had squirrel if you've eaten Chinese . Think I've had most things. Just don't ask eat. Roasting hot here, very busy but having a blast. Enjoyed our new gym yesterday and picnic in the park tonight which was wonderful. Live music, handsome young men - need I say more.

Cali just finished the old thread. Here's our new one

COntinuing previous conversation, that Tenor would irritate me. I'd want to poke him. There is a California Convention in January, but I have no idea if it is millions of miles away from you.

And I say Tom-Ah-to. DS is of the tom-ay-to camp [slight disappointment] but he did tell someone last week about his trousers falling down. Bizarrely, the woman was Australian, and didn't need a translation. Usually, the person he is talking to looks to me for a translation so I have to do a biiig sigh and say, 'Pants'

There are so many people on that list that don't post.

Bad times here again. Spent all night in the ER. High fever and croup, only it wasn't Colin, it was Caitlin. She had 104 fever even with ibuprofen and Tylenol, and was worse off with croup than Colin ever has been. She was so traumatized, but really calm about it. She had an IV, 2 breathing treatments, steroids and 2 chest x-rays. The Dr. was going to transport and admit her to another hospital, but she got better enough where she didn't need to, but he was very on the fence about it, so she didn't come home in great condition.

She perked up this morning, and lost the fever, but is getting that and croup back tonight. Hopefully it will be better, because she's 3 degrees lower than she was when she went to bed last night, and her cough is bad, but she's breathing so much better.

My friend said she was going to start including our family in her prayers. I told her at this point, I'd take anything I can get.

I'm a bit loopy, now. I've been up for somewhere around 40 hours, I think.

alipiggie · 09/11/2008 04:51

Oh Dooneygirl. I'm so sorry, I truly hope that you have a better night tonight. Poor little Caitlin.

Dooney

I saw a little girl today who looked just like Caitlin and it made me wonder how she was. I'm so sorry she's been so unwell. Are you ok?

Please get some sleep.

How are things today, Dooney?

dooneygirl · 10/11/2008 03:09

Much better. She started getting really hot last night even with motrin and tylenol, but you could really tell the fever broke around midnight. She still coughs a lot, and has no voice except for a very quiet whispery squeak, but is breathing much better.

The big sign is yesterday when we got home from the hospital, she just wanted to sit on daddy and not move. Today she was her normal half-naked running around self.

dooneygirl · 10/11/2008 03:39

What IS it about bedtime? She was fine all day, and now she's all red and running a fever again.

alipiggie · 10/11/2008 04:13

Oh Dooney - it's always the same. Fingers crossed that you get some sleep.

She keeps getting hot at night, but at least every night her top temperature goes down from the night before. I still don't get much sleep, because she likes to sleep on my head, cough in my face and stick her feet in my side. She also spends a lot of time rolling back and forth between DH and I. She was pulling the blankets up and covering him up last night, it was so cute.

I never realized I was sick, too. I have a temp, and somehow managed to get a bit dehydrated, and realized I haven't been eating much the past few days. I gave us all apple cake for breakfast. At least we all ate a lot. Other than the cream cheese frosting, it really isn't that bad. Not really any sugar, and things like wheat germ, oat bran, etc. How's that for rationalization?

SuperBunny · 10/11/2008 18:56

Aw, she's so sweet.

Apple cake sounds very good. Probably far better than some of the cereals you can get.

anorak · 10/11/2008 21:24

I'm so knackered, trying to get everything ready before I leave for Boston. Filling the freezer with homemade dinners, wrapping Christmas presents, trying to get my novel sent off to a literary agent and not left for months while I recover.

So who's going to come and visit me in Boston then?
