Hi all

It’s Kerr here, I wanted to post a quick update as I’m conscious Pamela hasn’t been on for a few days and the thread seems to have reached its limit.

Pamela hasn’t been feeling so good over the last few days - on a positive note, her bloods seem to have stabilised and, all being well, she might be ok for chemo round 2 in the next couple of days. She had a blood transfusion yesterday which, we hope, will also boost her energy levels. On the downside, her jaundice has returned, the bilirubin levels are increasing significantly. The CT scan at the beginning of the week showed no new blockages and our Consultant thought that some early necrosis of the tumour after the last chemo might be contributing, but nobody really knows what’s causing it. Further discussion to take place tomorrow. Seeing the jaundice is one of the worst parts of this, it’s so clear and obvious when it’s happening yet there’s nothing we can do to alleviate it.

Just wanted to let you know the latest. Please, please keep praying for her - she’s my everything, my world, and every thought and prayer is deeply appreciated.

Kerr

Gorgeous picture Kerr, I'm sure you've realised that there are many of us on here who will never forget Pamela. She touched so many of us, what a special woman.

I'm still thinking of you, Jacob, Pamela's mum and the rest of her family and friends x

loulouljh · 14/08/2023 21:53

Beautiful indeed...x

Elliejane · 14/08/2023 21:56

Lovely photo x She has taught us all to appreciate every second of life and that is one of many legacies she will leave behind to complete strangers as well . I knew Pamela from before from Scotland so out of respect never posted on her posts as felt like I would be intruding. She was the kindest loveliest person and my heart goes out to you all . Wishing you strength for the funeral and future xx

Mylittlepea · 14/08/2023 21:57

Pegsmum · 14/08/2023 21:58

Hi Kerr, thank you for sharing such a beautiful photo. I will never forget Pamela, and will always think of you, Jacob and her mum.
in faith, hope and love x

isitshe · 14/08/2023 21:58

Thinking of you Kerr, Jacob, Pamela's mum and all your family. Pamela's incredible outlook touched many people on here, and I know we just got a tiny snapshot of her. I don't think I'll ever forget her.

I'm in NI and I don't doubt Pamela's positivity would have made an impact on many people when she lived here too, although her experience of care here let her down. I hope your memories with her and Jacob here are mostly happy ones.

Sending your family all the love in the world.

blackpear · 14/08/2023 21:58

What a beautiful photo - thank you for sharing. Thinking of you all.

Donotfeedthebirds · 14/08/2023 21:59

What a beautiful picture of a woman who unwittingly found her way into the hearts of us all on this thread , just by being her honest self. The courage and determination Pamela showed in her darkest days will be something that stays with me. Sending love to you and Jacob, can't imagine the pain you are going through x

Bellagio40 · 14/08/2023 22:01

Such a beautiful photo of a very happy couple. I lost my own husband to cancer a few years ago and I am so sorry you are having to go through this, Kerr.

Orangebadger · 14/08/2023 22:01

Beautiful photo, beautiful woman. Lots of love to you all xxx

Silvers11 · 14/08/2023 22:08

Such a lovely photo of you both Kerr. Thanks for sharing it. Thinking of you all and still holding you all in my prayers. A huge loss for you and Jacob and everyone who knew her. So sorry you are having to go through all this x

AlleycatMarie · 14/08/2023 22:09

That’s a beautiful photo. Your family has experienced the most awful, cruel, unlucky, terrible time. But you and Pamela clearly also experienced years of joy and a love that many don’t ever get to have. I hope that can begin to help to get you through the toughest of times.
You will all be in my thoughts, although I wish there was more I could do.

Radiodread · 14/08/2023 22:10

You both have kind eyes and look happy. I hope you and your son, Jacob, are doing ok. x

mommatoone · 14/08/2023 22:12

Beautiful photo Kerr - thank you for sharing this with us.

MonkeypuzzleClimber · 14/08/2023 22:12

❤️ ❤️
It wasn’t just Pamela’s wonderful warmth that glowed through her posts, but yours too. She so obviously adored you too, and the love and support you gave her when she needed it the most was a beautiful thing.

Peace and strength to you, Jacob and all Pamela’s loved ones

Izzy24 · 14/08/2023 22:16

That’s a beautiful picture Kerr - such evident happiness in the two of you. Thank you for sharing it.

As others have said, you are all in my thoughts and I feel privileged to have ‘known’ your amazing wife.

Because of Pamela I have learned to say ‘the journey is too short’ to get stressed over the unimportant things happening in my life. And most things fall into that category.

The important things are our relationships with one another. And I am finding those are infinitely improved by not sweating the small stuff.

Thank you lovely Pamela. Your legacy is profound.

Kerr, that is such a beautiful photo.
I am so pleased this thread gives you some comfort.
Sending love. Know that we are all thinking of you all x

ChelseaGem · 14/08/2023 22:20

Gorgeous pic 😍

Hels20 · 14/08/2023 22:23

Your picture (yes, she really does seem to have been beautiful inside and out) has just made me well up again. Which is really illogical as I have never met Pamela. What a powerful women who came alive in her few posts. I think the post that stood out for me was her decision to come over to England and try treatment here - when she was clearly so ill. What a force of nature she was.

Hels20 · 14/08/2023 22:24

Ps her posts remind me of that foster carer who was trying to wean a baby off crack - and then she got sick with cancer and that beastly disease eventually defeated her too. Her and Pamela I think were of a similar ilk.

dotdotdotdash · 14/08/2023 22:25

So sorry for your loss, which you and Jacob and her loved ones will feel so much. I shed tears of sadness with you having known her only a little through this thread.

Andonitgoesagain · 14/08/2023 22:29

What a gorgeous photo of the pair of you, she really was a beautiful person inside and out.

Sending you and Jacob all the love in the world.

I'll never forget you guys x

Poilin · 14/08/2023 22:31

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful photo of you and Pamela I’m so sad for you and Jacob her mum and Nan you have suffered a terrible loss ,we are here to hold your hand if you need us xxx

Missingmyusername · 14/08/2023 22:32

She was beautiful and so brave, thank you for sharing- that’s a lovely photo of you both.

mayorofcasterbridge · 14/08/2023 22:35

Wasn't expecting to hear from you again Kerr. Such a beautiful photo of you and your beloved Pamela. Thank you for sharing it. I'm in NI too; my mum died from a similar form of cancer too young too (though older than Pamela, but still too soon).

Pamela touched so many of us with her determination and her eloquence, as well as her devotion to her loved ones. I hope you, Jacob, Pamela's mum and her gran find the strength that she had to keep moving forward.

Love and hugs xx
