My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

Your son sounds excellent. And you will stay strong by his side, I'm sure. There are so many of us here with you both (virtually) and I really hope you can draw something from that.

You sound like a wonderful mother op, there is so much love and vibrancy in how you talk about him and your husband. Having a mother like you by his side, is the very best that anyone could have in this heart wrenching situation.

I’m not sure this is a useful suggestion but would it help just dealing with half an hour at a time. Just you two, just an hour. He sounds like a wonder, enough to make you breathless, thanks for sharing. Check in with us in the morning, we’ll be waiting and don’t forget the wonderful night shift thread for minding your worries. Yes, huge worries but many hands & hearts here.
