My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

My heart goes out to you and your poor son. As awful as it is, focus on being with him and shoring up his morale. Talk about good family moments, laugh together, cry together, talk about his plans for the future, his hopes and dreams, say the things you always wanted to say. Be strong for him and if he doesn't make it you will know that he felt safe and loved in his last moments. Courage.

Oh sweetheart. I’m so sorry. Keep talking to him about fun you’ve had together, play music and YouTube programmes through your phone together. Sing (if you can 😊). Hold his hand if you’re allowed. Sending you both love and strength xx

jackstini · 04/04/2020 08:31

What an awful situation you are in OP. You are doing your absolute best under the crappy circumstances

Do you want to tell us about your son?

Prayers for strength, comfort and healing

WillowSummerSloth · 04/04/2020 08:38

So sorry OP. That sounds unbelievably horrible for you. We're here to listen and hand hold if you need to vent. Wishing you lots of strength, courage and hope x

aloneinthenight · 04/04/2020 09:25

He's nearly 14 and fearless and unstoppable.

He's been utterly remarkable throughout the last six months and continues to be.

He is the best of me.

You are in the absolute worst of times. We are here for you. Your son sounds brave and brilliant and you will be too. I have my fingers crossed for the chemo and am so glad he has you with him. Xx

Standrewsschool · 04/04/2020 10:43

Thinking of you

MrHaroldFry · 04/04/2020 10:49

OP. I am praying to any God that will listen and action this for your son. I can't imagine the thoughts that flood your mind during this. Let alone during this and coupled with CV.

Would you like to tell us about your son? His talents, the sound of his laugh, his favourite film or sports.

Could you ask the staff if there is any pastoral care at hospital. Maybe they could arrange a 'care pack' for you with some clean clothes and other necessities?

My love to you both.

WitchDancer · 04/04/2020 10:52

There's a hand here to hold 🤝

KundaliniRising · 04/04/2020 10:53
