My son may be dying

Just that.

He has cancer, they have not been able to control it.

They have given him one last chemotherapy to see if it can turn a corner but his body may not be able to tolerate it and it may not work.

We have been told to prepare ourselves for him to deteriorate suddenly.

My husband can't be with us because my son also has Coronavirus so we are in isolation and he is with our other son.

I'd love to hear more about him and about you. About the present and about him growing up. I know there's nothing we can say to change this, and that change is everything you need, but many here to hear you and bear witness with you

Oh dear OP, I am so heartbroken to read your story and devastated for you in this moment. Your son sounds amazing. I'm sending you both a hug across the miles. I have said a prayer for you both. Please keep posting to us here and tell us all you want to. Would you like to tell us more about your wonderful boy? Would you like to tell us about your fears and anger? Whatever you want to share, we want to listen to you and support you.

aloneinthenight · 04/04/2020 14:39

He has always been so invincible. Always climbed too high, gone too fast and pushed every boundary he could find, jus so he could tiptoe on the edge of it.

He's never still, always wants to be outside, and even through chemotherapy has been go karting and out on his bike.

He loves his friends and always makes up the best games to play in a field

He's a good brother and wonderful company, even now.

I don't know how to do this.

You are with your boy, you are doing all you can. I wish there was something I could say that would help. I'm reading & I'm sending strength to you xx

Bingeslayer · 04/04/2020 16:58

You must be so so proud of your boy op,I fervently hope and pray you get more time Flowers

MrHaroldFry · 04/04/2020 16:59

OP I hope that even in this isolation this message can penetrate through your aloneness and you know that others really do care and were praying for you both and thinking of you both.
I'm so sorry I can't offer practical help or even bring you a cup of tea. But please know this, you are loved, your fabulous boy is loved and if good wishes could bolster you we will send them in droves.

Please do ask if there is some pastoral care available and if there is a team to help with practicalities such as laundry/clean clothes.

oohnicevase · 04/04/2020 18:21

He sounds amazing.. fingers crossed for you all xx

madmumofteens · 04/04/2020 18:59

Your son sounds a wonderful young man OP 💔

aloneinthenight · 04/04/2020 19:50

He's had another dose of chemotherapy today so hopefully tomorrow we can see it turn a corner.

It's been the longest day stuck in this room. DS has felt awful all day and we are both shattered.

Hopefully better news will come tomorrow.
