Does anyone have any recent experiences of Kings Fertility for IVF and other fertility treatment? And in particular of Dr Ippokratis Sarris?

@Nina861, that sounds good, would be nice to say hi if we’re both there at the same time!

@Pregnant4456 sorry to hear it’s been a tough few days. It’s so frustrating sometimes when you just want to know what’s going on with your body and when things are going to happen! Will keep everything crossed for you that you can have your FET before too long and it won’t be too much more waiting.

Pregnant4456 · 10/04/2026 13:39

So I have a dominant folical a which is not common for me so early in my cycle so that’s good. Downside is my lining is still very very thin (under 4mm) so I am back in again on Monday am for another scan to see if we are closer.

My lining is normally spot on so hoping that it is just the resultant impact of the medication I have been taken which temporarily lower estrogen levels to help stimulate the early follicular growth.

So it didn’t go terribly but didn’t go as well as it could go. Now to distract myself over the weekend. The waiting is always one of the hardest bits! Xx

Nina861 · 10/04/2026 15:54

@Pregnant4456 glad it went ok and that's encouraging about the follicle! A lot can change in a couple of days so keep positive and definitely try to distract yourself as much as possible this weekend. 🤗

Cornwall1988 · 11/04/2026 15:02

Good luck for the distracting @Pregnant4456! Good news that things look on track and hopefully the lining will follow suit in the next few days!

Nina861 · 13/04/2026 07:02

@Pregnant4456 all the best with the scan this morning! Hope you managed to relax this weekend and 🤞 for the lining!
@Cornwall1988 i'll be wearing a pair of jeans with a white line on the sides and black coat. If you spot me, feel free to say hi if you like.
Hope the baseline goes well 💪

Pregnant4456 · 13/04/2026 10:23

Thank you @Nina861 for your well wishes!

All went well. Lining was just about good enough (about 7.5mm) and my folical was large enough to trigger so we trigger at 7pm tonight with my transfer booked in for 20th.

Consultant said that they could leave it a couple of more days to develop but then they run the risk of me ovulating on my own and then they don’t control the timing of the transfer as well.

Going to try and relax over the next few days as ultimately we now know it’s going ahead before the mos scarier wait to see if it has worked!

Best of luck for your appointments this PM. Sorry I missed you! Xx

Nina861 · 13/04/2026 10:37

@Pregnant4456 fantastic news! I'm so pleased to hear that - exciting moment tonight!

Cornwall1988 · 13/04/2026 12:36

@Pregnant4456 So pleased your appointment went well and you’ve got your transfer booked in. Will keep everything crossed for you and hope you manage to have some relaxing times between now and then!

@Nina861 thanks for that! I’m wearing jeans and a colourful stripy jumper - will look out for you!

Cornwall1988 · 13/04/2026 15:48

I kept an eye out for you @Nina861 but think we must have missed eachother. I hope your appointment went well. It was busy today!

My baseline scan went well and am just picking up my meds…all seems very real now! If my period is on time, I imagine I’ll be starting STIMS on Thursday this week. Feels a bit scary but am also excited to get things started :)

Nina861 · 13/04/2026 16:12

Same @Cornwall1988, shame to have missed each other but so glad to hear your baseline went well!
Very exciting and yes very real! How do you feel about the injections?
Maybe we should meet up for coffee at some point so @Pregnant4456 can also join!

Cornwall1988 · 13/04/2026 19:25

Thank you @Nina861 ! Feeling a little daunted by the jabs but I think I’ll be fine once I get started. Was more daunted by the price, lol! Need to rewatch the injection videos we were sent many times I imagine! The nurse today recommended just playing and pausing the videos while you’re doing each injection which was good advice.

Would love to meet up for a coffee some time - I’m fairly local to Kings.

Nina861 · 13/04/2026 21:12

@Cornwall1988 The first few might need a bit of courage but once past those, it'll get easier.
It's only for a few days anyway, luckily!
I'm not too far from King's either, about 15 mins on the train😊

Bubbles14 · 15/04/2026 19:21

Hey we are NHS at Kings, does anyone know whether they do beta hcg blood tests? Or if you can pay to have them? They haven’t mentioned anything to me.

My friend who had private IVF at a clinic did two and said they were reassuring

Nina861 · 15/04/2026 22:38

@Bubbles14 I'm not sure but I can't see it listed on their price list.
I have a call with King's tomorrow for my consent so I can ask and let you know.

Bubbles14 · 16/04/2026 12:24

Ah thank you that’s so kind! Hope your call goes well 😊

Cornwall1988 · 16/04/2026 15:40

@Bubbles14 as far as I know they just get you to do a home test and then call you in for a viability scan at around 2 weeks later tho I can’t remember the exact timeframe.

Cornwall1988 · 16/04/2026 16:01

And @Nina861 i hope your zoom call went well :)

Nina861 · 16/04/2026 19:12

Thank you both!
The call went well - blood tests all good and we've been through the medications i'll be on and the links to the videos. Baseline is on the 22nd and then hopefully we can start!
@Bubbles14 so sorry, in the end I forgot to ask 😓but I checked their pricelist again and it's not listed with the other extra tests they offer so it's probably like @Cornwall1988 says.
@Cornwall1988 if you're starting tonight, hope the first injection goes well! 🤗

Cornwall1988 · 16/04/2026 21:17

Thanks @Nina861 . Did the first injections tonight…nothing too painful but it was a bit worrying making sure we were following all the instructions carefully! Watched the videos all the way through beforehand and then paused at intervals while doing the jabs which helped and I’m sure each night they will become easier and easier! Got my first monitoring scan on Monday so fingers crossed for that though tbh I have no idea what stage you should hope things should be at by then! I’ve heard people say it can be slow going in the initial stages and things develop more towards the last few days…will find out more on Monday I guess! Each stage is a real education isn’t it?! (Considering I was completely clueless to it all a couple of months ago!)

Nina861 · 16/04/2026 21:24

Well done! What a milestone! 🎉
We'll become pros in no time but yes, wild to think how much we are learning already in such a short time.

zirafica · 17/04/2026 07:18

@Bubbles14hi! They don’t offer it for free if you’re with the nhs but you can definitely do them there, I had a previous ectopic so really wanted the reassurance, it was £36 and results were back in I think less than a day. My numbers were so reassuring they told me I don’t need to come in for a second blood test 2 days later (this was all post positive pregnancy test on OTD!)

Nina861 · 17/04/2026 11:38

@zirafica that's great to know! Definitely worth it for the peace of mind and not at all expensive!

Cornwall1988 · 17/04/2026 12:35

Is a blood test preferable to an a urine home test because a home one might be picking up on lower levels of HCG that could potentially be a chemical, etc?

Bubbles14 · 17/04/2026 15:53

Ah @Nina861not at all, glad the zoom appointment went well! I remember in ours it was a rush to fit everything in.

@Cornwall1988It definitely gets easier each day with the injections as you become more familiar, I found follicle growth slower than I’d hoped at first but worked out ok in the end. Best of luck with it all ✨

Thanks @zirafica, yeah called this morning to confirm my positive test and they said could come in and do one, one of my friends said she found it really reassuring to do but when I was there the nurse said it was a bit pointless to do so we shall see! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nina861 · 17/04/2026 16:44

@Bubbles14 that's fantastic news on the positive test! 🎉 Definitely worth doing the blood test as well. I'd find it reassuring too.
