Thought I'd start a thread for anyone starting IVF/ICSI in April! This is going to be round 2 for me, I'm currently waiting for my period to start so I can book my pre-treatment appointment and typical, I'm a week late with no signs of AF! Joys of PCOS and irregular cycles!

Be nice to have some company! 💛

I swear my period is just trolling me at this point 🤣 but hopefully it will come in the next day or so!

@waitingforourmiracle they're spiteful aren't they, you don't want them month after month and then the one time you do want it, they just hide! It really is lonely but nice to get a bit of community here with you all you lovely lot. As much as people try and empathise, I think it's only the people who have been through it that understand. My boyfriend had an embolism in December so hoping we get as amazing results as you guys did this time round! He's also been taking his impryl religiously and cut back on drinking so we will see. Are you PGTA testing?

I’m ok thanks just paranoid about doing anything. Also is mayonnaise ok to eat? Doesn’t say whether it’s made with pasteurised eggs or not

@Twofromanotherkind all store bought mayo in the uk is fine :) even if it doesnt say pasteurised all uk eggs are lion stamped

@FancyGoose that's brill he's had it done, I do think this was the biggest factor for us, he had a SA done in January and his count was the lowest it had ever been, I think 1.2mil and poor on all other factors, then on EC day I asked out of interest how his sample was and his count was 7.5mil and other factors have improved slightly too which was really good to know! I was so late for my period the clinic proscribed me nothisterone, I went to collect it, got home and came on! The pills worked before even opening the box 😝we were very 50/50 about PGTA testing, we enquired but decided against it, no other reason that we just wanted to see how this cycle panned out, we payed for 2 cycles with access fertility so decided if the first round wasn't great we would PGTA on the second round

@Twofromanotherkind hope your transfer went well really pleased you had two to freeze as well that is great news!

@lovelivelaugh64 they didn’t tell
me the status of them on my day 3 update either. Just said that we would be going ahead with a 5 day transfer.

My update is that I had my transfer today. They said I had 1 top quality blastocyst but they didn’t tell me the grade. I actually had two transferred as I asked about the other 5 and they said that there was the one blastocyst that they were transferring and 2 that were still in contention but behind where they would want them to be and they didn’t know if they would catch up by tomorrow for freezing. So now we wait!

I just wondered if anyone was taking aspirin? We asked our consultant about it and they advised that there was no harm in taking it but no clinical evidence that it helps. I just wondered what others are doing?

@wishinghard2 I will be on aspirin as of next week along with injection blood thinners

I have just done my lucrin depot injection forgot how much that one hurts, on the road for my FET

I hope it comes soon. I’m really tired but had a fairly busy day. I’m excited but also nervous. I want to try and wait until at least 7dpt to test but don’t know if I’ll be able to holdout

Congrats to everyone who have made it too transfer. I hope your 2ww isn't too torturous. Everyone else who is already in their 2ww, what day are you on and are you going to test early or wait for OTD. Sorry for those who were like me and never made it too transfer day, I really hope our next cycle has a better outcome.

The TWW wait is the worst so hope everyone at that point is doing okay and has some nice plans to keep them busy. My period has finally started today so I have my baseline tomorrow and then hopefully all good to go from there!

@FancyGoose that's good it's finally shown up! Are you doing short protocol or long? Sorry if you've mentioned and I've missed it!

No way I’m going to try and last until 7dpt but not sure I will last that long. Did you get a reliable test result when you tested before?

My husband had watched TikTok’s on other people’s journeys doing tests early so we tested from day 3 last year but got false negatives. When we have our ET this time round, we will be holding out to test.

@waitingforourmiracle short protocol so think should start my stims tomorrow. We're doing a freeze all though (if we manage to get any embryos) as will do PGTA testing this time round if we make it that far. You haven't done your transfer yet have you?

@worldwidetravel2017 ah no way, we are cycle buddies! I'm anxious about the PGTA testing as in three rounds we've only ever made four embryos and none resulted in a lasting pregnancy so feel like we must have shit embryos. Have you had previous rounds of IVF? Sorry if you've already said!

Nah - this is our first ivf .

We have miscarriage history though..

Sorry to hear your journeys been tricky

Due to various factors - we are not ' expected ' to get many embryos

Which meds dya start this week ?

Meriofert and inhixa 4 me .

@Twofromanotherkind we are day one buddies. How are you finding it? Is this your first cycle? Apologies if you have said before.

Our first cycle we didn’t test early and got a positive on our true test date. It resulted in an early miscarriage.

our second round we tested early (only be 3 days I think) and got a negative which remained negative.

our plan is to wait for our test date this time around. Mainly because when we got the early negative we found it horrible waiting for the test date to then re confirm it and then two days later to re confirm it again. Where as if we didn’t know we could have kept a that happy thought alive all be it for just a few more days. Everyone is different though and the wait is always very hard.

we had an update this morning that none of our other embryos were suitable for freezing which makes me feel better that we chose to have two transfered. We found out also that one was a 4AB and the other was a compaction. I’m not really sure what any of the grades mean as our previous cycles were day 2 transfers so it’s not something I have looked into before but we’re hoping that it’s positive.
