Hi all I thought I would create a thread for our BFPs after IVF.

A bit about me: 34 years old (35 next month)
2x failed transfers and 1x failed to thaw
BFP with this little blub. Scan date 7th of February (will be 6wks1day)🎊
Here's to continuous panicking 🤪

@Feliciacatthat’s not a bad shout actually! Be testing myself every day 🤣 might get my mam to test me on Monday aswell, she’s a carer she has her own machine 🤣

Scoobywho24 · 26/04/2025 17:01

Hi all hope you’re getting on ok :)

im 13 weeks nearly 14 and just the last couple of days feel a lot rounder, like I’ve eaten a few too many dinners! It’s not quite a nice round bump yet. Has anyone got a noticeable bump yet?

I’ve felt so fatigued this week!

Daniki · 26/04/2025 17:06

@Scoobywho24iv such a noticeable bump and I feel heavily pregnant 🤣 im 14+2! But I think it’s because it’s not my first pregnancy-apparently you shower quicker!

Glad my sickness has gone away but has been replaced by an everlasting migraine/headache combo. have the pelvic pain back aswell as a dull constant ache in the front of my groin (best as I can describe it) kinda freaking me out but trying to be rational and tell myself it’s just PGP.
i have my booking app on Monday, looking forward to being scanned again!

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 26/04/2025 17:22

Hi ladies, so I'm currently 16+6 and not having a great time. I ended up in hospital last Saturday after having a massive bleed and thinking I was miscarrying. I was kept in and scanned and baby is all fine but I have a 4x3cm heamatoma which was bleeding. My placenta is also very low and nearly touching the internal top of my cervix. Was in for 3 days then discharged once bleeding slowed down.

Had my first routine cervical length scan yesterday (monitored due to previous LLETZ) and have been told my cervix is too short (2.4cm reduced from 2.9 on Sunday) so now have the choice of trying cyclogest and seeing if this helps while still monitoring or having a cervical stitch (this has risks such as infection and potential to burst membranes - although Dr said this is unlikely) Dr has given me progesterone and suggested coming in again this Friday for a scan to see if it has helped but I'm freaking out that it's going to shorten massively in that time.

Feeling absolutely terrified of losing this baby and just massively overwhelmed 😞

Daniki · 26/04/2025 19:11

@Hopefullyonedaysoongod that would of been terrifying alright 😭 and a lot to think about. I think the cervical stitch is fairly common and they always have to warn of you the risks of any procedure 🙏 wishing you the best of luck!

HopefulSibling · 28/04/2025 13:09

Sorry to hear that @Hopefullyonedaysoon - how are you feeling? That must have been so scary!

I am now 17w2d, a tiny bump is starting to show and we went for a private gender scan on Saturday. Our 6 year old son (also an IVF baby) was desperate for a sister.. and his wish came true! We'd convinced ourselves we were destined to be boy parents, even had 'his' name chosen, so now we're on the hunt for a girls name we like! It was amazing to see her waving and dancing about on the screen too.

Hope everyone is doing okay and enjoying the sunshine!

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 28/04/2025 13:27

Thanks @Daniki and @HopefulSibling it has been pretty terrifying and overwhelming, just leaving hospital again after another small bleed. Decided to go ahead with the stitch so waiting to hear when that will be.

Glad you are both doing well, such lovely news for a little girl @HopefulSibling I'm 17+1 and I feel huge already 😬

HopefulSibling · 28/04/2025 13:30

Thank you @Hopefullyonedaysoon

So sorry to hear you've had another bleed - did you have to stay in again? Hopefully you don't have to wait too long for the stitch. Will they keep you on progesterone too?

I'm starting to feel a bit uncomfortable, and had mild 'pains' in my tummy which I am guessing is everything stretching and moving around. Just impatiently waiting for a proper bump rather than looking like I've had a very indulgent Easter break!

Daniki · 28/04/2025 14:57

@Hopefullyonedaysoonoh stop, that’s awful scary. Hopefully you get a date sooner rather than later!

finally had my booking app today at 14+5, my blood pressure is high so have to go on blood pressure tablets 😥 have to go back in on Thursday for blood pressure monitoring to see if I need a higher dose. Pretty freaked out about it hoping I don’t develop pre eclampsia!

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 28/04/2025 15:02

@HopefulSibling yeah stayed in last night just for monitoring but they were happy for me to go home today so just got home.
Yeah they said no harm in continuing the progesterone so I'll keep taking that as well.
🤣 I guess at least you have an excuse for over indulgence.

@Daniki yeah not fun, feel like I live at the hospital at the moment. Oh gosh sorry about BP what meds have they given you? 14+5 is so late for booking, why was it so late? did you have your 12 week scan etc already?

Daniki · 28/04/2025 15:11

@Hopefullyonedaysooni know! They were very booked up apparently and I left it a bit late registering as I was scared of jinxing myself before 8 weeks 🙈 but I was scanned at 7/8/10 weeks in the miscarriage clinic and I booked a private one for 12 weeks for the peace of mind! They have prescribed me labetol I think it’s called. They’ve gave me a low dose and to see what they say at the clinic on Thursday when I go in for monitoring. Another day of work and we were just off for 2 weeks for Easter 🤣 ah well! Glad you got home, are you signed off work or anything?

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 28/04/2025 17:29

@Daniki totally understand that, I'm terrified of jinxing everything. I think I've heard labetalol can course growth restriction in some babies so make sure to request extra growth scans.
Don't worry about work days off some things are much more important.
I'm actually still on maternity leave from my loss so luckily not having to juggle work

Daniki · 28/04/2025 18:53

@Hopefullyonedaysoonim glad you’re off but sorry to hear of the circumstances 😥 im really hoping it’s a one off and il be ok on Thursday but the way i have been feeling etc it’s kinda making sense. Very breathless and have had a lot of headaches. I’m referred to maternal medicine clinic so will be seen often for scans they said, same with my last pregnant but I didn’t have high blood pressure then! God it’s not easy 🙈

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 29/04/2025 17:03

@Daniki it's such a slog isn't it. I was hoping for a really smooth pregnancy but it's been gruelling so far. Been called today and should be in for my stitch first thing tomorrow so that's at least good. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Will keep fingers crossed for Thursday for you.

Daniki · 29/04/2025 17:30

@Hopefullyonedaysoonah that’s great, and does it stay in for the whole pregnancy or what’s the story? You’ll prob have lots of extra monitoring with it! Hope it doesn’t take long to do and all goes well 🙏

Hopefullyonedaysoon · 01/05/2025 12:53

@Daniki stays in until 37 weeks. Am in the hospital now just being monitored. Had the procedure yesterday and all went as smoothly as it could so fingers crossed now all stays well 😬

Feliciacat · 01/05/2025 13:34

@Hopefullyonedaysoon I’ve heard great things about those stitches; they’re simple but highly effective. I’m glad the procedure went well and I hope you feel reassured now you’ve had it.

HopefulSibling · 01/05/2025 13:55

@Hopefullyonedaysoon glad to hear you've had the procedure and that you're being closely monitored.. hopefully a smoother ride from here!

Hope everyone is doing ok in the heat?! 1st of May already... another month closer to our babies!

Since finding out we are having a girl we are seriously struggling for a name! We were so convinced it was a boy we had named 'him'

HopefulSibling · 07/05/2025 08:59

Hi all,

Hope everyone is having a good week?

Just wondering whether the whatsapp chat is still running?

Feliciacat · 07/05/2025 09:27

@HopefulSibling it doesn’t seem like much is running in relation to this thread. Some people have headed to the thread ‘due October 2025’ if you want to check that out. It’s much more active.

HopefulSibling · 07/05/2025 09:28

Ahh fab, thank you @Feliciacat ! I keep having questions/thoughts etc but don't want to bombard this thread! I'll head over there! x

Feliciacat · 10/05/2025 13:36

Actually, after recommending that thread, I’ve just left it because it’s the same three people talking to each other and ignoring everyone else. I imagine with this thread then maybe people have finally got pregnant after ivf and now kind of want to step away from all these tracking and checking in threads. That’s how I feel after three years of trying! I kind of want to get on with my life and I feel like being on Mumsnet was part of my infertility journey.

I wish you all the best of luck with your pregnancies!

Scoobywho24 · 10/05/2025 14:02

I haven’t posted much because I know the lady that started the thread had a terrible loss and I think of her every time I write something. Hope everyone is doing ok 💕

bluebella2 · 10/05/2025 17:10

@Feliciacat I'm still here, just a bit quiet because everything still feels very surreal and scary! I have my gender private scan tomorrow so hopefully they are still both there.

@Scoobywho24 I didn't realise 🥹 that's so sad maybe that's why it's gone quiet
