Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

@jenk91 sorry just remembered you've finished stims? So hard to keep up with where everyone's at! How are you feeling about collection tomorrow? Did you trigger last night? X

@Ttcforeverandever yep finished them yesterday! Triggered last night, didn’t feel great in the night but today feel fine so 🤷‍♀️

im anxious about tomorrow but also happy to get it done. But then it feels like it goes from being very full on to just waiting around to hear news, such a weird process isn’t it!

@Chickenqueen @OpalMaker I am sorry about your results. Have you both read the book called "it starts with the egg." It is an absolute fantastic read for anyone TTC, going through ivf and with low ovarian reserve, pcos, low sperm count.

The author has done a lot of research and writes about toxins around us that result in poorer quality eggs. I would definitely recommend this book to you all.

Don't give up hope @Chickenqueen - you only need one good embryo, as they keep telling us. Fingers crossed for you.

This is exactly what I was going to say too @Chickenqueen! Don’t give up yet, it only takes one and all you can do is to just take it one day at a time. I hate the waiting process that’s why I rather the injections as I know what to expect and I’m in control of administering them. The rest of the process is just so out of our hands and it can be extremely tough both physically and mentally.
When are you due to hear back from the embryologist?

I agree @FrostedFlake - I am looking forward to starting stims because it will help me feel more in control. Even taking my nose spray twice a day (on long protocol) makes me feel better, when I have all this waiting to do.

I'm trying to remain as chill as possible as ultimately, stress isn't going to help.

So sorry @Chickenqueen - fingers crossed for you. The embryologist at my clinic does say that sometimes things don't look like they're working 'perfectly' but in the end make absolutely fine blasts. So you never know!

I had my baseline scan today and all good to start my fifth round! Gonal f and Genotropin start this evening. Then adding in steroids from tomorrow. Back on Monday for a tracking scan. Really hope follicles grow this time and my cycle isn't cancelled again!

I've usually done between 10 and 12 days x

Had my baseline scan yesterday and will be starting 2nd round of IVF in mid-Jan with egg collection at end-Jan. Will be on 225 Gonal-F + 75 Meriofert for stims and Gonasi + Buserelin for trigger to minimise OHSS risk. Meriofert is new to me and I was initially thrown by the higher dosage + extra injection (total 2-3 jabs a day)! I dislike Fyremedel, which really hurts!
There was also an option about a luteal phase start, but thankfully we don't need to do that after clarification with the consultant. It's all quite confusing tbh and we had to piece all the info together ourselves.

Would you mind me asking what the role of the steroids is during stims?

Im prescribed them if we get lucky enough to get pregnant to help with my auto immune condition but curious as to its usage for stims.

@Rebekah77 and @jenk91 best of luck tomorrow! Hope you get lots of mature follicles and the procedure is as pain free and relaxing as it can be!

Im due to have my first scan tomorrow and really excited to see how the follicles are looking.

has anyone had an adverse reaction to the iv sedation before? I got a mild chemical burn from it before and wonder if I can ask them to use something else as was in pain for weeks after it.

@FrostedFlake hope your scan goes well! Ooh I hadn't thought of that, hopefully no reactions at all. Might be worth mentioning to the clinic today and they can decide if something else might be better for you x

Just on my way to my third monitoring scan, day 10 of stims (tonight).

Should hopefully have confirmation of my Monday morning egg collection after this.

Have started to notice a bit of a headache, had some paracetamol last night which helped, but have woken up with it again this morning. I think it’s medication/hormone related, possibly sky high oestrogen, etc.

Also lost my appetite, couldn’t finish my dinner last night as I might as well have been eating sand for all the enjoyment I was getting from it 🤣 bit nauseated.

Don’t worry, I don’t think it’s quite common as they had not seen it before either. I’ve to go back again for a follow up scan on Monday so will mention it to them then. hopefully they can use something else instead.

Was a bit dissapointed as we only have about 7 follicles that should be the right size for collection next week once they grow a bit which means we probably have to sacrifice three others that are way ahead in terms of measurements.

Last time we had more follicles but only 7 were collected and 5 were mature and usable. I was really hoping we’d get our number up this time.

Just been for my scan, my collection won’t be Monday, looking like Wednesday now. The follicles need to grow a bit longer, biggest was 18.6mm and I didn’t really take much note of the rest. Only seemed to have four in the game today, so my numbers are dwindling.

He did say the ones on my rubbish Left ovary seem to have stopped growing - so I doubt he’ll need to do any fancy access, so hopefully should be good for a fresh transfer this cycle - provided we end up with a usable embryo.

Bit nervous now but trying to be brave so I don’t spiral and ruin the next few days for myself 😩
