Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

Hi All, hoping I can join, been a bit of a quiet follower on here for the last few months but thought I’d share in case I can be any use to anyone. We already have a little boy, who now looking back were so lucky to conceive naturally. 18months into our journey trying to give him a sibling with Low AMH but no other known issues. On Day 2 of our 3rd cycle of Mild IVF with create. Will do a fresh transfer hopefully in this cycle, and have 3 embryos in the freezer from the first two cycles. Just had our day 2 scan and all good to go with Gonal F tonight! Wishing you all lots of luck! Hope we all get the outcomes we want in 2025! Keep reminding myself it just takes one good embryo! X

jenk91 · 10/01/2025 12:59

Thanks everyone! Home now and resting, it as totally fine and had a great nap 😂

Got 6 eggs, wishing we got more but they seemed happy enough and reminded me it only takes one! Just didn’t help to hear the lady in the bay next to me got 19! So let’s see what news embryologist has tomorrow, and this is only our first round so can’t expect too much.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

Lozzy000 · 10/01/2025 14:32

@CaipirinhaForBuddha I feel your pain on the Fyremadel! I've had it each cycle including this one. Not looking forward to starting them as they definitely sting!!

@FrostedFlake thank you xx The steroids are supposed to help responding to stims better apparently, as I don't respond well. It's very low dose - 1mg of dexamethasone per day. I've never had a reaction to the sedation @FrostedFlake. Sorry to hear about the chemical burn!! Sounds horrible.

@jenk91 6 eggs is amazing - well done!!! Don't worry about anyone else's numbers x

uhhuhyeahok · 10/01/2025 14:32

Hi everyone, hoping its ok to join in for some moral support. I'm 41 and diagnosed unexplained, we are private as I didn't qualify for NHS. I'm mid stims phase on our 3rd round, we did get a really good embryo to freeze last time (and did a transfer with a lower quality one that didn't take) but my partner wanted to do a full fresh cycle to 'future proof' so to speak. I wanted to do FET but I did see his point.
I'm feeling pretty rubbish about the whole thing this time round, we had to tell my PILs which I really did not want to do as they are constantly asking for details and updates which I didn't want to share in the first place!
Had a monitoring scan this morning which was positive, got about 4 big follicles and another 6 or so which should be big enough for egg collection next Wednesday but was feeling very dismissed as they only scheduled this scan for my 'peace of mind'.
Fingers crossed for everyone.

Go you @jenk91!! 6 eggs is a great number! That’s what we got in our last round and even with low fertilisation rate of usually around 30% (I think the average is 50%) we still managed to get to two embryos ❤️

Rebekah77 · 10/01/2025 15:44

Hey hey

positive news @jenk91 same here just the wait for the call in the morning

I know it’s so hard not to compare but we did it ! In quite a lot of pain but finally home such a long journey exhausted

welcome @uhhuhyeahok and @CharlFF

xxx

FrostedFlake · 10/01/2025 15:48

Welcome @uhhuhyeahok and @CharlFF.

Good luck with starting your stims @CharlFF have you done Gonal F for previous cycles too? I was on gonal f for previous cycles but now on Pergoveris and don’t think it’s making my a difference vs previous cycles.

@uhhuhyeahok im hoping our collection will be next Wednesday too 🤞🙏 need to go back in on Monday to monitor the smaller guys as I’ve got about seven that could potentially grow to the right size.

Chickenqueen · 10/01/2025 16:11

Well done @jenk91 & @Rebekah77! Hope you are planning some lovely relaxation for the rest of the day.

Welcome @uhhuhyeahok &@CharlFF

Not moving from the sofa

not sure what paracetamol is meant to do 😂naff all !

uhhuhyeahok · 10/01/2025 16:23

Thanks for the welcome all.

@Rebekah77 paracetamol does nothing for me either!

@FrostedFlake I have a scan on Monday too, fingers crossed you get some good numbers.

CharlFF · 10/01/2025 23:43

Thanks all!
yes @FrostedFlake Gonal F for the previous ones too- 150 for both but have gone up to 225 for this one so be interesting to see if we get any different results (Collected 4 eggs first time resulting in two embryos and 2 eggs second time resulting in 1 embryo). Have to keep reminding myself they know what they are doing and that it’s quality over quantity we are aiming for- sometimes easier said than done as we all know!
@Rebekah77 hope your feeling a bit better! 6 eggs sounds a great result to me- fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Hello

How is everyone feeling today ?

I had my egg retrieval yesterday feeling pretty lethargic and sore

I had my call a little while ago and feeling bit gutted

16 retrieved
10 mature
3 fertilised but 1 is slow so expecting that to drop off soon so basically 2

I understand everyone has different numbers but worried we only have 2 out of 10 fertilised and they prob won't even make it due to the further hunger games. Such a hard journey and feeling so down today.

Wishing you all the best luck and hopefully you feeling bit better today

Chickenqueen · 11/01/2025 11:19

Hi all, some mildly not terrible news today for day 3 that our one properly fertilised embryo is developing, albeit slowly it only has 4 cells at the mo but she said it had the lowest possible fragmentation which is positive. Still have very low expectations but I’ll take any slightly positive news at this point lol.

@Anniekent1 feel you, the attrition rate is just brutal, it’s such a rollercoaster. We just have to try and keep hopeful but also take the time to grieve as well. Sending you lots of love and luck xxxx

OpalMaker · 11/01/2025 11:27

I’m feeling a bit better about everything than I did yesterday, cried a bit at DP last night and we had a cuddle and discussed everything and feel a bit better.

So strange this morning but the dogs won’t leave me alone, they just keep coming and resting their heads in my lap and wanting to be stroked and fussed, but so gently. Our English Bull Terrier melted into me this morning when I was stroking him and laid there like a happy little baby. I wonder if animals can detect the excess oestrogen in some way? And it reminds them of being puppies?

Hi @Chickenqueen they do say it only takes one to fingers crossed for you. At least it's still developing so try and take each day.

It's so hard isn't it as you go in and do get your hopes up even though you try not to and it's so crushing. My best friend gave birth last week as well so just really hard timing

How was you recovery from egg retrieval. I have quite bad cramping and loose bowls (sorry TMI) so not sure if this is normal or more. I have a freeze all (if I do get anything ) due to OHSS risk so worried about any symptoms

Hi @OpalMaker glad you feeling better

I think dogs 100% can tell. Mine can't leave me alone but also think she enjoying me being in bed/sofa with all the cuddles 😂

Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling it, it’s so so hard, sounds like you have a lovely supportive DP.

Completely agree about animals knowing something is up!! My very aloof cat has been extremely loving in the last two weeks, won’t leave my side.

I know it’s not what you were hoping for but just to give you some potential hope. We had only two eggs that fertilised during our last round of IVF. I was gutted and devastated as in the past once the eggs fertilised we would have had a drop off of 50% each time we got the call from the embryologist with an update BUT despite all the odds this time around the two fertilised eggs made it to day 5. We transferred one of them and now have a beautiful and healthy DS ❤️ and also have a lower quality egg frozen.
We never know how things are going to turn out but you are most definitely still in the game and it really only takes one.

Anniekent1 · 11/01/2025 15:44

Hi @FrostedFlake

Thank you for replying. And I know I should be happy out with the two (and I am) as you said it's the concern of the next two drop offs which could leave us with none

I am so happy it worked out for you and you have your lovely son now. It does give me hope that we may be parents one day. Just such a rollercoaster As everyone kept saying oh you'll be fine because you have eggs and eggs are the main issue. Or that we are young so we will make lots of embroys. Think it's the hope and expectation and then the cruel reality of IVF that really no one ever knows and it's just a roll of a dice and you hope one day it lands on your numbers.
Thank you again

FrostedFlake · 11/01/2025 16:05

@Anniekent1 I completely understand, I was in tears everyday for 5 days thinking it was going to be the end of the round for us. But that’s the thing with IVF, you never know what’s going to happen and how things are going to turn out ❤️

@Chickenqueen that’s good news!! I’m hoping it catches up and you have a good blast for day 5! 😘 how are you feeling?

Chickenqueen · 11/01/2025 17:04

@Anniekent1 I am feeling ok after collection, still in pain and a tiny bit of spotting, i am actually a bit constipated as well. I wonder how long OSSH is a risk. Just been chucking back the water and coconut water!

I'm exactly the same. Sick of coconut water , electrolytes and lucozade. Felt pretty bad this morning but getting a bit better now. Also having steak and chicken as heard protein helps as well

Just mad what we have to go through for just a single chance. Nice to know you ladies on hear understand the journey and nice to be able to talk to people going through the same thing. Although not so happy that so many people have to go through it!

Rest up and get better soon x

Rebekah77 · 11/01/2025 18:32

Been a day of colouring and rest , hot bottle

pain is annoying but hopefully it eases soon fingers crossed

keeping up the paracetamol don’t think it’s much use 😂

few days of rest hopefully pain bogs off ! Antibiotic is ok thankfully don’t feel too sick

hope everyone is resting xx

OpalMaker · 11/01/2025 20:15

Are we meant to be following any particular rest or activity restriction while stimming?

It’s been freezing today so we took DP’s classic landrover out off-roading on this huge Pit tip nearby.

Only occurred to me when I slipped and landed on my arse cheek that I’m not even sure if I should be gallivanting in such a wreckless fashion 🤣

We took a flask of tea and a blanket if that softens it a little bit?! 🫣
