Anyone starting next month? I'll be on my 4th cycle. I've just bought 2 cycles with manchester fertility and it will be me done. I'm 36, have a low amh of 5.2 and afc 10. I'm doing the estrogen priming protocol so will take estrogen tablets for 7 days starting from day 21. I then take 450 meriofert. I'm not sure whether I am excited or nervous. It has been a year since my last cycle and I'm going to struggle with another loss but wanted to get started again also. No children yet and over 3 years trying. Have blocked tubes and endo xx

@emeraldhope dont think anything of cramps or not! I had loads of cramps, way more than normal at that stage and I got a negative so 🤷‍♀️

my transfer was 15th and OTD 27th, but was a 5 day transfer so maybe that’s why you have a little longer?

ForeverHopeful17 · 28/01/2025 13:55

@NadiaSeq I hope your scan went well today lovely. I got a good number of eggs last time but only 8 were mature! I'm on slightly higher dosage this time 225 gonal-f and 75 meriofert I'm also with a different clinic this time

ForeverHopeful17 · 28/01/2025 14:07

Also just to add 8 mature eggs was amazing and I was really happy with that but I was initially disheartened with the first drop off rate

Rebekah77 · 28/01/2025 14:12

Hey lovely @OpalMaker

it’s the most confusing and emotionally draining thing isn’t it

I am also thinking of going for a multi cycle also as spending over double is not appealing !

I don’t think there is any rhyme or reason to AMH going down sooner honestly lovely it’s so hard not to blame yourself . I spent the first ten years of my life in chemical menopause I wonder sometimes if it’s caused any issues - guess we will never know

I think we all have our limits emotionally and financially!! My other half is old so really we have this year poor old boy 😂

it’s so tough when your dealing with pmdd too

all the love to you xx @OpalMaker

OneWaryCat · 28/01/2025 14:26

Hi everyone. Thanks for all your support. Home safe now and tucked up on the sofa. It all went smoothly and we got a good number of eggs so pretty happy overall. Slightly sore but otherwise good. Been told we are on for a fresh transfer on Sunday. Just waiting until tomorrow to find out how many eggs were mature and have fertilized.

Nice to see you back @opalmaker. Hope you are feeling better. Good you have got a bit of a plan in place. Definitely don't blame yourself or think it's anything you have 'done'. These things are so complex. X

FrostedFlake · 28/01/2025 14:42

That’s great news @OneWaryCat! glad it went well and they got a good amount of eggs! Best of luck over the next few days ❤️

Rebekah77 · 28/01/2025 17:24

Rest up lovely @OneWaryCat hopefully a positive call tomorrow and plenty of embryos for you

xx

Kr0 · 28/01/2025 17:51

Well done @OneWaryCat get that heat pad and paracetamol on!

@Geordienewbie glad you got to transfer! Fingers crossed for the next few days

hope everyone else is doing well

FrostedFlake · 29/01/2025 06:12

I’ve been testing the last few days and the line hasn’t been progressing much and today at 9dp5dt it’s gotten lighter. Unfortunately I think this is the end of this round for us.
Wishing everyone the very best of luck 🤞 ❤️❤️❤️ and I hope there’s a few positives to come on this thread x

Thank you! The scan actually was a bit worrying - they only saw 4-5 follicles and it was day 6. I came our very worried about the low counts - but the doctor seemed to be ok and said they don’t worry about quantity, quality is key. I don’t know as I’m not sure about the quality either with my age and male factor in consideration 🙈

NadiaSeq · 29/01/2025 06:59

@OneWaryCat well done and fingers crossed for good fertilization! Is there any medication in between EC and transfer day?

ForeverHopeful17 · 29/01/2025 09:09

@NadiaSeq it's so hard not to worry and overthink everything on this journey but I hope you take comfort in the fact that your doctor isn't worried and they're the experts. 4-5 follicles is a really good start and hopefully they all keep progressing as they should. With male factor are you doing ICSI?

@FrostedFlake really sorry the line isn't progressing. Are you doing a blood test for confirmation or does your clinic go on pregnancy tests? If this is the end I'm sending you a big hug 🫂 and lots of baby dust for your next cycle x

I'm just getting ready to head on for egg collection, really praying for good news today!

Rebekah77 · 29/01/2025 09:18

Good luck for collection lovely @ForeverHopeful17

that number is a good start @NadiaSeq quality first for sure . Don’t worry I’m an old one too lol 😂 have they increased your meds ?

so sorry @FrostedFlake it’s so so hard , take a few days , I was a zombie for a few days honestly just have to feel it and be kind to yourself

xxx

Hi everyone.

Gosh this is a rollercoaster of emotions, isn't it? Yesterday we got a really good number of eggs so were feeling a bit buzzed, but I got the update call this morning, and with the drop-off rate, we have a below average of fertilized eggs. Can't help but feel disappointed seeing the chances decrease and obviously OH is feeling deflated as if it's his fault due to sperm quality. I know you only need one, and God knows I've told many people that too, I had just hoped we'd be going into the 5 days wait with slightly more fertilized eggs. There are some that haven't done anything so they said they would give them another day, but warned me it's unlikely they will fertilize.

Sending hugs @frostedflake. Xxx

Yes I have cyclogest pessaries to insert twice a day. It's all quite straightforward.

Hi @OneWaryCat I can understand your disappointment. Earlier in this thread I had the same thing with a drop 67% drop off from mature to fertilised and went from 10 to 3 which was way below the clinic and ourselves were anticipating

Having said that we still got 2 blasts out of those 3 so all is not lost. We just kept trying to think quality over quantity and you are still in the race so don't beat yourselves up to much it's such a hard journey try and take the wins xx

OneWaryCat · 29/01/2025 10:59

Thanks so much @Anniekent1, that is helpful and reassuring.

Gave ourselves a bit of a talking to and now feeling more positive. We just have to hope there is one good one to transfer on Sunday and then we will be willing that one all the way and how many others there are won't matter too much at that point.

I think we just need to take it one step at a time.

Good luck to everyone else today. Good luck with egg collection @ForeverHopeful17.

@FrostedFlake I saw your other thread with pics of the tests. I don't have any expertise in these things but it looks like good news to me. Hope so. Xx

YellowTack · 29/01/2025 12:51

I had my scan this morning and will trigger tonight for an EC this Friday!!!

I am a bit worried about the size of my follicles, I have one at 27mm, 2 at 23mm, 2 at 14mm and 3 small ones that probably won’t be big enough to contain an egg.

27mm seems huge so I am worried it could be overmature at the time of EC, which doesn’t leave me with a lot of good sized eggs, especially knowing the potential drop in number for fertilisation/blasts!

ForeverHopeful17 · 29/01/2025 20:30

Thank you so much @OneWaryCat and @Rebekah77 collection went well and I'm so surprised by how well I feel in comparison to my last collection. I'm really happy with the number of eggs retrieved but am at risk of OHSS so have to do a freeze all which came as a surprise.

@YellowTack good luck with egg collection on Friday

@OneWaryCat I hope your next update is a really positive one. I know it's so hard not to feel disheartened with the drop off rates but as you already know it really only takes one. I've got my fingers crossed for you

Lozzy000 · 30/01/2025 09:49

@FrostedFlake I'm so sorry. Keep testing over the next few days just to be sure, you never know. Chemicals are so, so cruel xxx

@YellowTack snap! I triggered last night for collection on Friday. I have done a whopping 21 days of stimulation......!!! 3 follicles which unfortunately aren't as big as they would want for egg collection, but my LH has started to rise too much so they're worried I'm going to ovulate. Had to take 3 Fyremadels yesterday and also taking some tablets that help prevent ovulation. This is my fifth and final cycle, and unfortunately it's not looking good 😢 I don't think we're going to get anything at collection tomorrow. I hope your collection goes well xx

YellowTack · 30/01/2025 10:57

@NadiaSeq do you have low AMH?
I totally get being worried about numbers because I am the same!
I also only have 5 follicles growing (+ some small ones that are not growing) and it really stresses me out as the numbers drop after each step.
Thinking positively I managed to get 3 embryos out of 5 eggs at my last round, so I really hope this cycle could be the same!

NadiaSeq · 30/01/2025 13:10

@YellowTack my AMH is 17, they were not overly concerned with it, might be just the reaction to the stims this time. Also my right ovary is not attached, so it’s really hard to see it on a scan and a lot of guess work as to how many follicles are there and whether or not it can be reached for EC at all 🤦‍♀️

uhhuhyeahok · 30/01/2025 16:13

@ForeverHopeful17 that's what happened to me this cycle too, was completely blindsided by it so I understand the disappointment. I did develop mild OHSS so was definitely better to do go ahead with the transfer but its still awful.

My bleed started and my symptoms have pretty much gone (from what I can tell anyway). I've got a scan and consultant follow up next week to make sure all is well so we can move on to an FET next cycle. The clinic did let me know I may not have to pay separately for an FET cycle as we didn't transfer for medical reasons, which would be brilliant from a financial point of view, as we are self funding.

ForeverHopeful17 · 30/01/2025 16:38

@uhhuhyeahok oh no sorry to hear that you did develop mild OHSS but happy that your systems have almost disappeared now. I think I'm slowly starting to see the positives of doing a FET instead of having done a fresh transfer so feeling much better now. How soon after collection did your symptoms begin? Also how soon did you get your bleed? I'm really hoping mine comes soon so I can also start planning for my FET. Fingers crossed all goes well in your appointment next week!

We're in a similar situation as my clinic have also said that I won't have to pay separately for a FET cycle for the same reason. We're also self funding so such a huge relief.
