Hi has anyone been here for IVF treatment.
my husband and I are looking at treatment abroad we currently have a 6 year old who we had through the NHS Scotland but want to extend our family.

Bit anxious about booking tests and medication etc, and also losing this dreaded weight. I know i can do it i done it for my daughter, my husband has low sperm count so this is why were seeking treatment.

@Gkb90 I have recently used this clinic, I was very impressed, I have had treatment done in the UK also. The only thing is it is a very busy glinic offering other treatments, when I was taken down for my slot, the procedure before hadnt finished, so I was kinda waiting outside the operating room, was a little strange, but that's how Cyprus rolls, everyone including the patients are super friendly. My treatment unfortunately failed (they were very shocked) but I am back again in August so shows I was impressed.
If you need any info let me know I'm happy to help, I wish I'd had someone to ask before I went through it in the UK first, I wish I'd gone straight to TRNC

@camelinastorm im sorry to hear it failed and wishing you luck for your next go. I’m hoping to go in the next coming months also. Did you have to get testing done here beforehand? And if you don’t mind me asking were the costs lower than the UK? I’ve sent off the contact form for them so I’m just waiting to hear back but not sure how it works going forward with this clinic
are Cyprus strict on bmi as over here they have tight rules about bmi being lower than 30

thank you for your help

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 11:11

I don't believe they are strick with BMI, it's €3000 for treatment €150 if you need bloods done and then medication is purchased yourselves so source within your personal budget , I would recommend follicle scans once you start stims if you are new to IVF just to watch out for OHSS

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 12:33

@camelinastorm great thanks so much, I’m guessing the medication is quite costly getting it over here. How long do you recommend staying out there for?

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 12:46

@Gkb90 no not really they can send DHL mine was just going to cost the same as the UK with the postal service, it will depend on what you need I used The Fertility Medication Centre for my meds and they were a very competitive price and delivered in 48hours. I stayed for 3 weeks (but was visiting family at the same time) I would say 10 days minimum

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 14:59

Thanks so much @camelinastorm for all your help, I’m waiting to hear back from them and hoping to get started soon :)

@Gkb90
I'm currently in north cyrus now, I'm.a bit different to you as I've had to use donor eggs, I have my 3 x embroys transfer on Tuesday next week. I started medication at home in birmingham then I flew out here Monday had 2 scans so far my lining is 16mm. All my communication was through what's app, never went to the clinic only on Tuesday this week. Most people speak turkish there but you get given a care Co ordinator who speaks English. So far so good, any other questions let me know

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 15:10

@Bubble37 hi, thank you for getting back to me. How are you finding it there, is the communication good with everyone you have to deal with during your procedures and scans? How long are you planning on staying out there? Wishing you all the best x

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 15:11

Also does anyone know if transferring 3 embryos is compulsory over there or can just the one be transferred like they do here

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 15:23

@Gkb90 you can choose how many you want to transfer

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 15:30

@Bubble37 how did your transfer go fingers crossed for you, shame we have literally been at alternative months 🤣 could have had a buddy

Bubble37 · 11/07/2024 15:35

@Gkb90 you can choose how many you want to transfer, I've only chosen 3 as I have a 1cm polyp in my womb and I just want and hope for the best possible outcome. I didn't know I had a polyp until I was scanned on Tuesday,

I'm here for 11 days came on the 8th, flying back on the 19th.

Communication is great between everyone

@camelinastorm how many embroys did you transfer on your failed ivf here with doctor Firdevs .

Weather is extremely hot here at the moment

It's a busy clinic so appointment times are not stuck to, I find it's very fast paste here in north cypus. 1 in 1 out.

Bubble37 · 11/07/2024 15:37

@camelinastorm would be nice to have a buddy, my transfer is on Tuesday next week, but I hoping that this 1cm polyp in my womb doesn't stop my embroys from. Implanting. Theydaid my lining looks good at 16mm. I'm so scared and worried now about this polyp

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 15:45

@Gkb90@Bubble37 yes I found very fast paced and very busy, I had 3 they were very shocked they didn't stick, I was ill literally straight away (not related to the procedure) Cyprus is very hot at this time of year, idaleally we wanted to delay until October but childcare is an issue then so august is easier, last time we took them as we were there for 3 weeks but this time 10 days so leaving them at home and I can rest properly.
Hope you are having a lovely time, the food in TRNC is lovely

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 15:51

@Bubble37 sorry read it as you had your transfer Tuesday my bad. I'm sure they would have said if there was any issues with implatation and the polyp, I am trying beetroot juice after transfer as this is supposed to assist

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 15:56

@Bubble37 @camelinastorm thank you both for all the information it’s been so helpful! I’m just hoping the busy-ness doesn’t overwhelm me when I do eventually go out there

I spent almost 2 years at a fertility clinic over here where they did all mine and DH tests, bloods etc then I was put on letrozole and meriofert injections along with the trigger shot, all was looking well taking these meds but we just couldn’t get pregnant after several cycles. We was looking into IVF over here but now really considering just taking the plunge and going to Cyprus

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 16:09

@Gkb90 I think the main thing they look at is your AMH, if you have had all your bloods done I'd advise you get the results from your clinic as saves having to have them again, my UK clinic wouldn't provide mine so we had to pay again unfortunately, it's not busy in an overwhelmingly way it's just a lot of patients seen, which is a good thing I suppose

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 16:36

@camelinastorm i’ve been chasing the clinic up for ages but they never seem to get back to me now since I said I wanted to move on from them, when I last spoke to the dr there in January I was told I’ll be sent over a letter going over everything I’ve done there but I never received it after chasing them up! Funny how these clinics don’t care anymore when you’re not paying them

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 19:31

@Gkb90 yep that's the same as I had, I gave up in the end got my GP to run the bloods they can and had the rest done in Cyprus it was worth paying €150 to not have the hassle of the UK clinic

Gkb90 · 11/07/2024 19:55

@camelinastorm did you let your GP know you was going to Cyprus for IVF? Was wondering if I had to let them know

camelinastorm · 11/07/2024 20:33

@Gkb90 I did but you don't have to

Gkb90 · 12/07/2024 21:56

@Bubble37 @camelinastorm can you both give me recommendations on where to stay during the time there please

Bubble37 · 12/07/2024 22:03

I used air bnb and double d an appartmemt penthouse 2 min drive from the clinic, best bet to look on there based areounh the clinic

camelinastorm · 12/07/2024 22:32

We stayed in the ROC, so not too helpful, we did do a few nights in Nicosia center a few times. Sky hotel in nice and has a pool and is close enough to Nicosia centre for food and all that, there is a few boutique guest houses but generally no pools and if you go in summer you need a pool, winter either is good

Bubble37 · 13/07/2024 04:50

I would stay up north tho buy the clinic so you don't have to keep crossing the boarder for you appointments as there can be delays at the boarder and you don't want to miss your appointments
