ABC - FET due to oestrogen levels

Hi everyone
I have been chatting in another ABC thread but don't want to take over the chat with this new query I have.

I'm just coming to the end of my stims (trigger tonight) and having egg collection on Monday. My oestrogen levels have shot up and I have to have a frozen transfer (nurse said if it wasn't for covid I could have had fresh but they have lower thresholds in place at the moment).

My questions are basically about the process. We obviously paid the £2500 inclusive price. We had already paid an extra £995 for freezing embryos with the hope we get some for future use, we now have to pay £1050 extra for the frozen transfer plus we have to pay for more meds (nurse said tablets) anyone had to do this and can tell me what they paid so I have an idea please?

I'm assuming we can go ahead with the FET my next cycle? Can anyone give me any insight into the process/procedure/timescales please? I'm unfortunately one of those people who like a clear plan in their head.

Thank you
Hannah

Hey guys- went for lining scan. Looks good and transfer is booked for next Thursday. Can't believe it's nearly here. I'll probably call in sick on Friday so I can a long weekend off. She said I have to call in for a blood test once I had the transfer. Pessaries from Saturday now. I'm excited and nervous now...

Preston12 · 06/05/2021 13:27

StarryHannah · 07/05/2021 16:09

Well ladies, I have found today (the day before the test day) to be the actual worst. My brain has not switched off the worrying at all. I found it so difficult to teach today xxx

StarryHannah · 08/05/2021 08:51

@Preston12 thank you! It was a frozen 5 day 3AB.

We weren't able to have fresh coz of my oestrogen levels shooting up. Egg collection was 1st March. Transfer was 27th April xxx

@Mellow89 thank you so much! My husband is over the moon too. He is now sleeping as I had him up at 5am 🙈 I wee'd in a pot and he dipped the tests. I was too scared to do it and cried so hard waiting for the results. I really recommend first response as can be read in 45 seconds. We did a first response and then i made him do another to be sure (even though line is super strong). Then a clearblue digital so i could see pregnant in text. Xxx

Such lovely news @StarryHannah. Can I ask what day after transfer you had that bleeding? What do you recommend to do after embryo transfer? Did you get on as per normal?

StarryHannah · 08/05/2021 09:07

@Mellow89 i had transfer on Tuesday and brown blood on the Thursday morning/early afternoon. I had a bubbly crampy feeling for a few mins the thurs evening.

I took the rest of the week off work but did lots of nice things with my husband and friend like going for walks, food, beach, a weekend away. After the transfer we went for a little walk around Bristol and a meal before heading back to Wales. I didn't eat anything specific... just lots of water, at least one banana each day and some milkshake to get my calcium in. Just made sure i snacked more often and ate breakfast. Please ask anything xxx

Thanks for the info @StarryHannah! Just did my first pessary right now. Can I ask if you did it on the morning of the transfer date? Also, did they telll you which embryo they are transferring? Did you have another in the freezer ? Did they thaw one?

StarryHannah · 08/05/2021 10:31

@Mellow89 yes i took a pessary the morning of transfer (I checked this too).

When I got there they told me they had successfully thawed my best embryo and said it was a 3AB and that I still had two in the freezer xxx

Hey how are you guys? I was a little worried I've been taking the progesterone 3 times a day and have no symptoms is that's normal)? Have some cramps in the morning but that's it . Just white discharge from the tablets (sorry too much info)!

Mellow89 · 12/05/2021 21:45

Hey @StarryHannah and @Preston12 . I just can't believe the day is finally here. I was so upset when I couldn't do fresh as I had the date in my head for so long as I calculated roughly when that would be. Feeling nervous and grateful I have a chance to do ivf. How are you @StarryHannah. Have you got any more symptom? When is your next appointment 🥰?

@Preston12- that's soon .
I really hope you get to do a fresh transfer. It comes around so quick.

StarryHannah · 12/05/2021 21:48

@Mellow89 I was also upset about not having fresh but when I went for frozen transfer I was so glad things had worked out the way they had As my body felt refreshed and ready for it.

The only main symptom I'm getting is achey and stinging boobs! Xxx

StarryHannah · 12/05/2021 21:49

Hey @StarryHannah. Just coming back from my transfer! I was bursting sooooo much... it was so crazy I was so uncomfortable but held on so they could get a clear photo. Can't believe I have an embryo in me. The nurses are create were sooooo nice. It was a really special day and I'll remember it (mostly because my bladder was bursting). I have tomorrow Off and the weekend so now for some resting I guess...I'm still really anxious and nervous.

StarryHannah · 13/05/2021 18:24

@Mellow89 congratulations! You are now pregnant! I spent my entire wait talking to my belly ... I would recommend it as I think believing in your heart that it's worked helps!

I'm so glad your transfer was special too ❤ How do you feel? Xxx

Hey @StarryHannah. I feel okay. Some tingly feelings but nothing major. How did you feel straight after the transfer?
