ABC - FET due to oestrogen levels

Hi everyone
I have been chatting in another ABC thread but don't want to take over the chat with this new query I have.

I'm just coming to the end of my stims (trigger tonight) and having egg collection on Monday. My oestrogen levels have shot up and I have to have a frozen transfer (nurse said if it wasn't for covid I could have had fresh but they have lower thresholds in place at the moment).

My questions are basically about the process. We obviously paid the £2500 inclusive price. We had already paid an extra £995 for freezing embryos with the hope we get some for future use, we now have to pay £1050 extra for the frozen transfer plus we have to pay for more meds (nurse said tablets) anyone had to do this and can tell me what they paid so I have an idea please?

I'm assuming we can go ahead with the FET my next cycle? Can anyone give me any insight into the process/procedure/timescales please? I'm unfortunately one of those people who like a clear plan in their head.

Thank you
Hannah

@StarryHannah so exciting! Can't believe the transfer day is here for you soon 😊. I agree, I read about the the food- I don't think any of that matters to be honest. I know some people do acupuncture before and after but I'm not sure about all of that!

@Preston12 happy that you are giving it another shot. Isit your first child ?

Preston12 · 22/04/2021 21:05

Mellow89 · 22/04/2021 22:21

Hey @StarryHannah I'm alright thanks, just getting on with everything and keeping busy. Just waiting to start the new protocol. Feel like I'm waiting forever! Glad I haven't really told anyone - would be frustrated if people kept asking what going on lol. Was your lining okay at your scan?

@Preston12 praying for you. I know you will have your baby together ! 🙏

StarryHannah · 22/04/2021 22:24

@Mellow89 yes all was good. Triple line which they look for. Scan was super quick compared to the others I've had as this time they were only checking the womb and it's lining xxx

Mellow89 · 23/04/2021 08:53

Mellow89 · 23/04/2021 08:54

Will you do the pgs testing next cycle @Preston12? Did they transfer a day 5 this cycle?

Preston12 · 23/04/2021 09:03

@Mellow89 what’s PgS? Testing ?
I had a frozen 3day transfer hun grad 1
I’m hoping to get more eggs this time not sure weather to do fresh or frozen this time depending on if I get OhSS again hopefully not that was horribel x

Mellow89 · 23/04/2021 10:17

@Preston12 it's genetic testing where they check the chromosomes for any abnormality. I didn't have OHSS but I'm kind of glad now I did frozen. The frozen allowed me to resume normal life kinda while I wait.. but the wait is so long...Confused

Mellow89 · 23/04/2021 10:18

Will they up your dose of injections so you get more eggs? Did you have male factor infertility?

Preston12 · 23/04/2021 12:24

@Mellow89 no keeping same dose of medication And no we don’t have any male factor infertility x when do they do that test?

Mellow89 · 23/04/2021 14:06

Oh I see. Do you have unexplained ? It's a test they do after egg retrieval usually takes 3 weeks - you'll have to do a FET. I don't think abc do it but create do. Worth checking. What do they suspect was the reason for the failure first 2 times?

Preston12 · 23/04/2021 14:39

@Mellow89 we both been checked nothing wrong with any of us I really have no idear hun tried everything? Run out of reasons y I really have it would be such a dream for us both really would ? I didn’t no about this test I might do this then is there anything they can do ? We r already having IcIs again x

Mellow89 · 26/04/2021 20:42

Good luck tomorrow @StarryHannah. How are you feeling about it? Can I quickly ask after day 1 how long Isit to transfer for you? Just tryna work out a few things. My period decided to show today... 45 day cycle!! Shock

StarryHannah · 26/04/2021 20:47

Hiya @Mellow89 my transfer day is day 18 of my cycle. They aim to do frozen transfers on Tuesdays and Thursday in Bristol clinic as it's quieter on those days. Not sure if other clinics are the same.
They called me today with my time slot for tomorrow. My appointment is 11am but need to arrive 10 mins before with a full bladder.

I'm feeling good ta. Excited! Can't believe the day is actually here. My egg retrieval was the 1st March and it felt like forever getting to the FET day xxx

StarryHannah · 26/04/2021 21:13

@StarryHannah good luck let us no how it goes x

StarryHannah · 27/04/2021 14:49

Hi girlies
All went well. The staff are so lovely! I drank a bottle of water on the way (not sure if you've seen the clear Disney ones with initials and Pooh or Mickey on in Tesco etc to give you an idea of how much). Well when I was in waiting room I was bursting.

Called down to theatre and doc asked me was my bladder full and told me to empty a little as shouldn't be so full where you feel uncomfortable. I didn't feel like i could start and stop but I did.
Gown, hair net and foot covers on, but this time I only had to remove my bottom half clothing. They explain and show everything Smile Pressing scanner on belly is not done hard so this doesn't impact the need to wee! I was in theatre about 20 mins and the actual procedure was about 10 mins. They tell you when to watch for the flash of bubbles the embryo is in. I saw it and he also re-played a couple of times. I came away with a couple of scan pictures showing the bubbles for my husband to see Smile

Pregnancy test day is Saturday the 8th of May. They've advised to use first response or clearblue. I have some first response at home ready for the test day Grin xxx
