ABC - FET due to oestrogen levels

Hi everyone
I have been chatting in another ABC thread but don't want to take over the chat with this new query I have.

I'm just coming to the end of my stims (trigger tonight) and having egg collection on Monday. My oestrogen levels have shot up and I have to have a frozen transfer (nurse said if it wasn't for covid I could have had fresh but they have lower thresholds in place at the moment).

My questions are basically about the process. We obviously paid the £2500 inclusive price. We had already paid an extra £995 for freezing embryos with the hope we get some for future use, we now have to pay £1050 extra for the frozen transfer plus we have to pay for more meds (nurse said tablets) anyone had to do this and can tell me what they paid so I have an idea please?

I'm assuming we can go ahead with the FET my next cycle? Can anyone give me any insight into the process/procedure/timescales please? I'm unfortunately one of those people who like a clear plan in their head.

@Preston12 my friend has low AMH. She went with CRGW and is now 24 weeks pregnant after her first attempt of IVF. X

@Preston12 she went to the one in Llantrisant near Cardiff. I went there first to have all my tests done but moved to ABC as cheaper and because I needed mild IVF due to high AMH levels (unexplained infertility). CRGW now offer IVF lite as well as all other usual IVF etc. I found the doctor at CRGW was lovely and really honest and informative.

So glad to hear you are not giving up @Preston12. Do you have any more eggs frozen?

No none out of 21 eggs I only had 1 egg glade 1 and it didn’t work so that upset me even more x he said we can give it one last go just need to find a really good clinic xx

@StarryHannah - how are the tablets going? I'm worried I'll feel sick on them.

@mellow89 Day 2 was yesterday so I started them then. So far I'm getting a really hot flush about half hour after taking them. So I've decided to space them out fi take when I get home from school at 3ish. Nurse said we have choice to space them out as we want or take them in one hit. But one hit you're more likely to get side effects i wouldn't be able to cope with these hot flushes in front of a class or even in car when driving. Literally have to strip off haha. How are you? X

I'm taking one at 3pm, one at 7pm and one when I go to bed x

Yes follow up this week apparently but won’t hold my breath as communication hasn’t been great I’m still waiting for my period to arrive does it come late after ivf transfer ? X I’m still so undecided on a clinic really am x

Haha!! Hot flushes..I'm not looking forward to them! Wise idea about spacing them after work. Whatever makes things easier. I'm okay thank you. Just waiting for the period to start - suppose to be tomorrow but defo not on its way. Just making sure I got my thyroid checked again as I'm on Levothyroxine before next stage . Have you got a lining scan next week?

I find communication with them really difficult too @Preston12. The nurses are wonderful just the admin is not very clear. I know one person who had gone to so many fertility clinics and been unsuccessful and finally conceived using Zita West clinic. I'm not sure what they did more there but they seem to adjust lots and it worked.

@Mellow89 yes got a scan on Monday morning To add to side effects alongside the hot flush is increased sense of smell ... my husband is banned from eating chicken satays. I could smell them on him all last night even though he had showered and brushed his teeth 🤮🤮 If I hadn't have seen him actually doing that I would have been kicking him out of bed to go and do it as I wouldn't have believed him because the smell was making me heave🤣 xxx

@StarryHannah so abc have now said that before we do our 3rd cycle we have to have a dna semen fragmantation test done? But we have had semen tested twice and been told all is fine we both have no problems ? The test wil take 4 weeks apparently that wil take to long so we have been looking into another clinic crgh ?? But really don’t no what to do x

@Preston12 i know how you feel about seeing babies everywhere and not having your own.

I have only had egg collection so far but had all three embryos frozen due to oestrogen levels and OHSS. I moved from crgw to abc purely down to costs. But after paying for frozen transfer we've paid not far off what we would have paid if we stayed with crgw.

I had my scan today, have to continue oral tablets but start pessaties Thursday ready for my first frozen transfer nexr Tuesday xxx

@Preston12 After my egg retrieval i had a bleed then the following period i started treatment for my FET x

This has been the only ivf cycie I've ever had, no fresh transfer but currently getting ready for frozen transfer xx

@StarryHannah how you getting on after a lot of talking emails etc we have been approved for another cycle straight away so we have our consultation on Tuesday gota say I’m not looking forward to all the injections again or the collection but fingers crossed it will all be worth it x have you been preparing for the transfer like eating certain stuff etc .. none of that worked for me unfortunately I think it’s just one of those things it rather is going to happen or it isint no matter what you eat drink etc x

@Preston12 going well ta. FET is booked in for Tuesday and have started pessaries today. I'll be honest in that I haven't changed what I eat... i didn't know where to start! I don't drink tea or coffee or smoke so had no need to cut anything out. I have cut back on alcohol and the only alcohol I've had since boxing day was a few ciders on Easter weekend. Nobody said anything to me about food changes so i thought if it was that important they would have. What do you think?
