ABC - FET due to oestrogen levels

Hi everyone
I have been chatting in another ABC thread but don't want to take over the chat with this new query I have.

I'm just coming to the end of my stims (trigger tonight) and having egg collection on Monday. My oestrogen levels have shot up and I have to have a frozen transfer (nurse said if it wasn't for covid I could have had fresh but they have lower thresholds in place at the moment).

My questions are basically about the process. We obviously paid the £2500 inclusive price. We had already paid an extra £995 for freezing embryos with the hope we get some for future use, we now have to pay £1050 extra for the frozen transfer plus we have to pay for more meds (nurse said tablets) anyone had to do this and can tell me what they paid so I have an idea please?

I'm assuming we can go ahead with the FET my next cycle? Can anyone give me any insight into the process/procedure/timescales please? I'm unfortunately one of those people who like a clear plan in their head.

Oh yeah she did tell me it's a prescription. They can either send them to me or she can give the medication directly when I come in for my scan check which is a week before my period. She wants to scan me to check I'm ready for FET as I had 16 eggs recovered so could have swollen ovaries (although I felt fine). I've been doing the ovulating sticks . I usually have a 30 day cycle so should be ovulating around day 17 but it heard it can shift a lot after egg retrieval. When are you due yours?

@Mellow89 Ah on the phone and on the online treatment consultation I was told the same company who brought the first lot of meds would contact me to deliver them, so when I chased up why I hadn't heard I was surprised to hear it was a prescription. Glad I did chase and query though as prescription hadn't been sent out.

I'm due Thursday on 1st April but I'm prepared for it to be a lot later than then xxx

Hello I am on my 2nd round of ivf the first one none of the eggs made it this time I have a grade 1 embryo I am having transferred on Wednesday I had my egg collection in January but was at risk of ohss so had to have a fet I have been on 3x oral tablets and today started my 3x pessaries I am excited but also worried I hope it works fingers crossed good luck to you all x

Hi @Preston12 so excited for you! Definitely think frozen one might give you a better chance especially at that grade. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you. How long did it take to get your normal length cycle again after egg retrieval?

Well we had egg collection on January 29th and I was allowed to start March 15th so I had 2 bleeds then started they said 2/3 bleeds but I had 1 bleed and started taking the tablets on the second x thank you I hope so @Mellow89

Did they do any tests to check you are ready for FET @Preston12? Did you end up having OHSS?

@Mellow89 hi yes unfortunately I did and was so painful I had to have blood thinners and medication I was poorly after Ec they done a scan in March 1st week and said I was ok so I started on March 15th x

That's great. I'm having a scan in 2 weeks so hopefully they'll give me the go ahead as well . She said she will be looking at the size of ovaries etc. I had 16 eggs retrieved so I was wondering if everything will go back by then.. how many eggs did you retrieve if you don't mind me asking?

First round I got 11 eggs and none made it 2nd time 9 eggs 1 made it x I have my transfer tommorow x

How are you feeling @StarryHannah- any signs of AF coming? I think this cycle will be mega long for me

@Mellow89 well it's due today but I know the sod will be late. It will prob play tricks on me like when I was waiting to start the ivf meds ... it came late then disappeared for another few days before starting properly. That had never happened before! It was as if it knew and was playing hide and seek!

It feels funny because after years of 'trying ' and pregnancy symptom spotting, it's now become period symptom spotting 😄 🤣

Period symptom spotting 😅. I know, just constantly waiting for something. Ive been using the ovulating sticks and I haven't ovulated yet which means my usual 30 day cycle is way off now . Hoping to keep busy during Easter to take my mind of it for a while

Can anyone tell me how they felt after a transfer please ?? X

I am okay had some cramps and can’t sleep feel very hot such a strange feeling really is x hope your ok @Mellow89

That sounds like a good sign @Preston12. I'm okay - just wanting to speed things up! Are you at the London branch? Can I ask what they were looking out for March 1st when you went? Like ovaries gone back to normal size etc?

Hey yes London one and yes they were looking at ovaries my lining of womb and for anything on my ovaries x

Bad cramps today this is day 4 since transfer x
Also my cycle is 28days hun x but my first period after egg. Collection I was early 25day cycle I think x you will get there hun so r you waiting to have transfer then? You have already had collection x
