ABC - FET due to oestrogen levels

Hi everyone
I have been chatting in another ABC thread but don't want to take over the chat with this new query I have.

I'm just coming to the end of my stims (trigger tonight) and having egg collection on Monday. My oestrogen levels have shot up and I have to have a frozen transfer (nurse said if it wasn't for covid I could have had fresh but they have lower thresholds in place at the moment).

My questions are basically about the process. We obviously paid the £2500 inclusive price. We had already paid an extra £995 for freezing embryos with the hope we get some for future use, we now have to pay £1050 extra for the frozen transfer plus we have to pay for more meds (nurse said tablets) anyone had to do this and can tell me what they paid so I have an idea please?

I'm assuming we can go ahead with the FET my next cycle? Can anyone give me any insight into the process/procedure/timescales please? I'm unfortunately one of those people who like a clear plan in their head.

Thank you
Hannah

@Mellow89 no I'm not going to test before as I feel like I would only be putting myself through torture. If i just wait until test day there's no guessing then. What do you think you will do? Xxx

@StarryHannah just don’t no if it’s to soon it not also I’m worried about the OHSS that I had last time x

StarryHannah · 27/04/2021 20:20

@Preston12 I had mild OHSS and I've never felt pain like it. I can't imagine how people feel with it moderate/severe. Maybe they'll tweak your protocol this time to see if they can avoid the OHSS? Fingers crossed for you Flowers xxx

@StarryHannah I asked them but they said that they won’t change my medication ? So hopefully I won’t get it x it was so painful and unpleasant

Mellow89 · 28/04/2021 22:58

How are you @StarryHannah? Did you take the day off? I've started the tablets today they are already making me tired. Missed your question about testing early..I don't think I will neither if I can help it . Everything just makes me so anxious.

StarryHannah · 29/04/2021 08:15

Hi @Mellow89 I called in sick for the rest of the week. Teaching is stressful at the moment and the pupils' behaviour isn't great as they're so out of routine with the lockdowns. I want to give this embryo it's best chance of sticking Smile The doc doing the transfer told me I was wise to stay off until after the weekend.

It's really weird because I'm constantly waiting for something to tell me I'm pregnant 🙈 I don't know what I'm waiting for but I'm waiting for it, like a sign or something haha. How are you? Xx

Good idea @StarryHannah to stay at home. Definitely rest up and enjoy these moments. How does you feel? Do you still have to continue with the estrogen? I have my lining check next Thursday. So glad to be finally at this point.

StarryHannah · 29/04/2021 21:08

@Mellow89 Hiya. Yes, I have to continue with the oral tablets and pessaries, if my pregnancy test comes back positive I still have to continue with them.🤞

I had some brown spotting when I wiped this morning, then quite a bit of brown spotting on my pantyliner but that has stopped now. I've been getting waves of strong cramping and i feel similar to how i feel when my period is coming (only way to describe the feeling inside me)

It's exciting starting after all the wait isn't it? Xxx

@StarryHannah that sounds promising! Fingers crossed it could be implantation bleeding🤞 . Yes feels exciting and nerve wracking!

StarryHannah · 29/04/2021 22:07

@Mellow89 thank you! I really really hope so. But not sure if implantation can be so soon? Had a 5 day blastocyst transferred just days ago. Do you think it's possible to be implantation?

Are you still tired from the meds? Xxx

It does sound like it @StarryHannah. It is supposed to be 1-2 days after transfer and it should disappear afterwards. Fingers crossed I defo think it's a good sign Smile. I'm not so tired on the meds anymore. I feel fine on it as well. Too much medication to remember to take everyday- thyroxine, vit D and folic acid and now these tablets. Did they tell you the mm on your lining scan? I hope the oestrogen tabs are working.. I feel the injections ramped up the oestrogen a lot I wonder if tablets do the same?

StarryHannah · 30/04/2021 07:13

@Mellow89 thank you! No more spotting at all now so maybe you are right 😁❤

I found that after a few days my body got used to them too and the hot flushes etc eased off and disappeared.

No they didn't tell me the thickness, just said it was triple lined and looking great.

I don't think the oestrogen tablets ramp it up so much as they haven't had to monitor my levels through blood tests this time.

Thursday they'll be telling you your transfer day ❤ Then the day before your transfer day they'll call you with your appointment time xxx

@StarryHannah so excited for you. 😊

Mellow89 · 02/05/2021 09:11

@StarryHannah how are you feeling? You must be nervous and excited. 🙂

StarryHannah · 02/05/2021 09:16

@Mellow89 i didn't feel very well yesterday evening. I felt shakey and just couldn't warm up, as if i was coming down with something. I kept napping all day as I was soooo tired too, and I've woken up feeling like I need more sleep. I was never this tired even after two weeks in Ibiza 🤣🤣

How are you? Xx

@StarryHannah haha! Ohhh well that's what the bank holiday is there for! I'm good except the stomach bloating. Feel like belly has blown up. Trying to do a garden transformation and keep busy as I know next 2 weeks I'll just stay low. How many days past transfer will you be on Friday? Is the progesterone once a day? I can't remember need to look back at the protocol.

StarryHannah · 02/05/2021 09:39

@Mellow89 I'm on holiday for the weekend at Woolacombe Bay which has been nice to help relax and pass the time.

Friday I'll be 10 days past transfer, and I'm taking the test the day after on the Saturday.

The progesterone pessaries are three times a day xxx

Hey @StarryHannah. How are you keeping up? I'm going for my lining scan tomorrow ... can't believe it is all approaching. @Preston12 how are you?

StarryHannah · 05/05/2021 21:33

@Mellow89 hiya. I'm good ta. Tiredness has eased. Get the odd 'flush' and ache in my stomach, and stinging boobs. I'm hoping they are symptoms and not just med side effects! So exciting now for you ... it's actually all happening! Xxx
