Morning ladies!

We hit our 1000 limit on the original thread! That’s 1000 messages of support and advice, celebrating every happy milestone, and being there for uncertainty and bad news too. Thanks @Mseddy for setting up our little cohort :)

Will try to tag the regulars, apologies if I miss anyone. @Custardandcream @nextweek @kikisparks @StayingPositive8 @Bruce2 @CardboardCat @MrsT36 @loulamay @MsNoons17 Argh, my phone is refusing to autocomplete properly - I hope that works.

Wishing everyone heath and happiness - whatever stage of the journey you're on xx

@loulamay sorry just seen this. My 6dp5dt was a squinter at first! So I'm guessing it would have been negative at 5dp5dt. It was 100% negative at 4dp5dt (it was Christmas day and I could resist!) how are you getting on?

@Lepatz glad to hear you have plans in place for the next cycle! Dhea worked wonders for me so fingers crossed it does the job! I only ever got my drugs from my clinic so no idea on costs elsewhere

Lepatz · 01/02/2021 13:21

So my period just arrived - a full week early!! Tsk. I've decided just to go for it though. Woooooo! I figured I can keep waiting until I think things are perfect... but I'm inching ever closer to 41, so probably should just get on with it. Balls, I mean, 42. Where did the last year go!!

It's be over 6 weeks since I started the DHEA by the time the stims start. How long did you take it for @Mseddy?? Also, what dose did you take? I started on 20mg a day, but have had to reduce to 10 as it was stopping me sleeping. My DHEA levels weren't actually that bad though - mid range - the aim was to push them to the 75%ile. I'm basically throwing the kitchen sink at it.

Good luck for the beta today @loulamay !

Oh, I'm kind of excited but also a bit scared. Here we go again :)

loulamay · 01/02/2021 14:20

@Lepatz Here we go again indeed! So excited for you! What are your actual next steps?

Got my beta result which is positive Grin Number isn't as high as last time, but this little frostie wasn't hatching (compared to the last one which looked liked it was trying to escape its shell completely!) and the HPT line was definitely lighter this time round, so I was prepared for that. Dr is happy and I repeat on Wednesday to see if it's doubling appropriately!

Lepatz · 01/02/2021 17:58

Thanks @loulamay And YAY for the beta!!! Do you have any symptoms?!

I’m doing a long, freeze-all protocol with PGS. So will start norethisterone in a couple of weeks, and have my baseline scan in a month or so. Slightly different meds as I won’t be progressing onto the transfer this time. Not sure how long I’ll have to wait for the FET after that though. She wanted me to do a couple of retrieval’s back to back, but not sure if I could face it. Guess we’ll see how the numbers go once I get started :)

Mseddy · 01/02/2021 18:17

@Lepatz I took 25mg a day for about 3 months. I never had my levels checked though, I just went off how I felt. I had alot more energy on them! Exciting that AF is here and it's time to go again!!

@loulamay congrats on the positive!!! Yay! Fingers crossed everything doubles!

loulamay · 01/02/2021 18:46

thanks @Mseddy - hope you're doing ok! I'm curious, now that you've had your first scan, when is your next one?

@Lepatz - F all symptoms. I say that - some very light cramping, also had what I think is implantation bleeding again this time (day 4-6pt) and maybe slightly sensitive nipples, but really not much and could be the progesterone.

Have spent the last 20 minutes Googling 'low beta after FET' like a moron, but actually came across lots of results lower than mine and everyone saying that it's such a big range, and doubling is all that matters. I'll go back to my tea and chocolate and stop being such a mentalist.

Back to back retrievals? YIKES!

@kikisparks good luck for tomorrow x

Mseddy · 02/02/2021 08:13

@loulamay originally I had my viability scan booked for 7 weeks. Then freaked out and they pulled it back to 6 weeks. Then at the 6 week scan the nurse practitioner was happy to discharge me to normal maternity care, but offered me a follow up scan for reasurance so I was scanned again at 8 weeks. I'm 8+6 now and have my midwife booking appointment tomorrow. I'm hoping she gives me a date for my 12 week scan at that appointment. If it's not bang on 12 weeks I think I'll have a private one in between as I'm startinf to get a little stressy again!

kikisparks · 03/02/2021 06:56

Lining was 9.8mm so should get a call from the embryologist today or tomorrow with a transfer date!

Lepatz · 03/02/2021 08:14

Hurrah! Great news @kikisparks :D

Daft update from me. Turns out my period hadn't arrived on Monday after all 🙈 False, though convincing, dawn. Going to have to wait for it to actually come, then phone the hospital to fess up! At least will get an extra few days of boosters in :)

OP posts:
loulamay · 03/02/2021 09:19

oooh that's a beaut of a lining thickness @kikisparks - how exciting!

@Lepatz - you do make me chuckle. Hurrah for extra egg-licious boosters!

Tested again this morning and have a darker line (phew!) so second beta is today to see if the numbers are doubling.

@Mseddy wow that seems like a long time between scans for week 8 and 12 but that's probably just my IVF anxiety talking! How are you feeling? any sickness?

loulamay · 03/02/2021 11:05

Just heard from my clinic - my first beta on Monday was only 35 and I was so worried it was going to be another chemical. Just heard that in 2 days it's gone up to 129 which is more than doubling so he wants to see me in 2 weeks for the first scan.

Will go and collapse in a puddle now until the next thing I need to worry about comes along!

Lepatz · 03/02/2021 12:15

Oh @loulamay that's wonderful - you must be so relieved!! That's way more than double (how many did you transfer out of interest?! ;))

OP posts:
Mseddy · 03/02/2021 14:33

@Lepatz our bodies don't half play tricks on us when it gets near to a cycle! Fingers crossed for AF soon.

@kikisparks exciting! Great lining, any update on embryo transfer day? Thinking sticky thoughts for you!

@loulamay yay congratulations!! Glad thst beta is rising nicely and not long until scan! It does feel like ages between 8 and 12! Especially since I'm 9 today and I don't even have an appt yet! Met my midwife this morning and she said she will request an appt and I should get it in the post. I'm really hoping it's soon! Although shes dated me as 8+3 because she's gone of LMP even though I told her it's irrelevant! So my 12 week scan will likely be nearer 13 weeks if not later Sad might have to book a private one in! Yeah I do have sickness lost days, just nausea and zero appetite. I wretch even thinking about food if its not beige haha

Bruce2 · 05/02/2021 21:29

Ladies I've just realised i haven't been seeing update alerts on here!!
Missed a few convos

Everyone seeming very positive
@loulamay congratulations 🥳

Love reading these Messages
I'll turn alerts back on don't miss anything again xxx

kikisparks · 05/02/2021 22:52

@Mseddy transfer is 12 February! Stop the nasal spray today and start the dreaded pessaries tomorrow.

kikisparks · 05/02/2021 22:53

@Mseddy hope the time to your next scan doesn’t drag too much for you!

loulamay · 06/02/2021 11:13

@Lepatz - only transferred one! I think the chances of it splitting are slim?? (Googles frantically...)

@kikisparks - hurrah for transfer date! So happy COVID didn't stuff up your plans this cycle.

@Mseddy - love that the midwife has just blatantly ignored the IVF data and taken it off your LMP. Lordy. Hope you don't go crazy during the wait!

@Bruce2 - how lovely to hear from you! How are you doing and feeling? You must be getting big!

Lepatz · 07/02/2021 17:42

Hi folks, happy Sunday:) No news from me - just saying hello!

Great to hear from you @Bruce2 - how are you getting on??

Yay for transfer date @kikisparks - so close too!

OP posts:
Bruce2 · 07/02/2021 19:58

@Lepatz @loulamay
All good here so far thank you. Around 9 weeks to go so yes very big & uncomfortable but loving every minute of it. Feeling very grateful.

I'm so glad this thread still going. I joined a few Baby Name/guess the gender type ones and oh my...bit intense so took my alerts off hence I've missed a few conversations on here!
Have learned how to mute certain ones now
I'm so excited for everyone's journey

Massive good luck to you all xxx

Mseddy · 08/02/2021 14:19

@Bruce2 I can't belive you only have 9 weeks left! How has so much time passed?! Exciting!

How is everyone getting on? I'm still waiting for my 12 week scan date, thinking I might have to book a private one soon because I'm starting to freak out a little again. I had cramps all day yesterday and was so so down thinking something bad was happening. Turned out to just be the progesterone constipation coming back!! God ivf is so glamorous! Luckily no cramps today thanks to the life saver that is lactulose Blush

MsNoons17 · 08/02/2021 17:44

Hi All

Just checking in to say hello!

Great to hear from you @Bruce2 that time has flown by! Glad all is well with you!

That’s great news @loulamay how you feeling?

Yay for the transfer date @kikisparks not long to go!

I know what you mean @Mseddy I’m 11+3 today & still have 2 weeks till my scan. I hate the waiting. Also am coming off my progesterone & estrogen this Friday which I’m nervous about. 😬

Hope everyone is doing well! Xx

Mseddy · 08/02/2021 21:16

@MsNoons17 nice to hear from you :) I'm nervous about coming off mine but I have 2 weeks yet. I've seen alot in an pregnancy after ivf fb group I'm in that people tend to have a little withdrawal bleed. I'm already trying to tell myself i won't freak out, but if it happens I know I will!

loulamay · 09/02/2021 06:50

Hi @MsNoons17! Happy to hear you are doing so well. I'm feeling great actually - barely any symptoms at all. I think I'm either reassured by the familiarity of having done this before, or just in a good place of 'what will be will be' and happy to wait for my first scan.

Out of curiosity, those of you who experienced morning sickness, what week did it start?

Mseddy · 09/02/2021 09:38

@loulamay mine was afternoon sickness and never vomiting just nausea and food aversions. It started week 6 I'd say and has gone over the last few days

MsNoons17 · 09/02/2021 10:02

I hadn’t read about the bleeding actually @Mseddy
Hopefully won’t freak out too much of it happens now. Have already prepped the husband about the possible mood changes though I think he is well used to that by now😂

I’ve just had a lot of nausea throughout the day @loulamay which started at around week 7-8 I think.
